Objective To evaluate the effect and mechanism of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor simvastatin on experimental interstitial fibrosis. Methods Experiments on rat 5/6 nephrectomy chronic renal failure model and primary cultured renal interstitial fibroblast cells were conducted in this study. The cell proliferation, extracellular matrix, c-fos mRNA expression of rat interstitial fibroblasts were measured by MTT assay, immunohistochernitry, semi-quantitative reverse-transcript PCR methods, respectively. Results Serum cholesterol, triglyceride and creatinine of treated group were significantly reduced by simvastatin as compared with controls. No statistical significance in BUN was observed between untreated and simvastatin-treated rats. Histological examination revealed that simvastatin caused a reduction in the glomeruli with sclerosis. Tubulointerstitial injury paralleled the degree of glomerular damage. Simvastatin in a dose-dependent manner inhibited the proliferation of renal intersititial fibroblasts, decreased the secretion of lamimn( LN), and suppressed the expression of c-fos mRNA, as compared with normal controls. No obvious effect on hyaluronic acid( HA) secretion of fibroblasts was found. Conclusions Simvastatin is anti-proliferative in interstitial fibroblasts and decreases the secretion of laminin. This effect is exerted, at least in part, via inhibition of the c-fos and c-jun-dependent mitogenic pathway. Simvastatin may prevent interstitial fibrosis development and attenuate renal damage in uremic rats with hvperlipidemia.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2019;50(3):541-545
Objective: To study the chemical constituents from the ethyl acetate fraction of Ceriops tagal. Methods: Compounds were isolated and purified by various column chromatography, recrystallization, and HPLC. And their structures were elucidated by physicochemical property and spectral analysis. Results: Eight compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of Ceriops tagal and identified as (E)-methyl-3-(5-hydroxy-2,3,4-trimethoxyphenyl)acrylate (1), tagalphenylpropinoidin A (2), coniferyl aldehyde (3), 2,3-dimethoxy-5-(1-propenyl)phenol (4), methyl syringate (5), syringaldehyde (6), pinosylvin monomethyl ether (7), and n-hexadecane acid (8), respectively. Conclusion: Compound 1 is a new phenylpropanoid, named as tagalphenylpropanoidin C, and compounds 4-8 are obtained from C. tagal for the first time.

6. Potential mechanism of Linggui Zhugan Decoction for treatment of Alzheimer's disease based on network pharmacology
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2019;50(23):5812-5822
Objective: To study the potential mechanism of Linggui Zhugan Decoction in the treatment of Alzheimer' s disease (AD) by using network pharmacological technology. Methods: Firstly, TCMSP, Swiss, SuperPred, Stitch databases and supplement literatures were combined to search for the chemical compounds and the potential targets related to the four herbs in Linggui Zhugan Decoction, using the oral bioavailability (OB) ≥ 30%, drug-like (DL) ≥ 0.18 as screening conditions. Meanwhile, the targets related to AD were screened through OMIM, TTD, GAD and Pharm Gkb databases. Moreover, the interactive targets of Linggui Zhugan Decoction and AD were further acquired. Then, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis and KEGG metabolic pathway enrichment analysis of interactive targets were performed using DAVID 6.8 database. Finally, degree and betweenness centrality analysis were performed to find potential key targets and key pathways after the "Herbs-Active Compounds-Targets" interaction network was constructed by Cytoscape software. Results: There were 126 potential active compounds and 120 potential interactive targets in Linggui Zhugan Decoction. A total of 565 enrichment results were obtained by GO analysis, including 396 biological processes, 121 molecular functions and 48 cell components, mainly involving protein binding, cell, oxidation-reduction process, etc. Simultaneously, the selected targets were enriched by KEGG analysis and it indicated that 67 metabolic pathways play an important role in AD, primarily including neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction, pathways in cancer, serotonergic synapse and calcium signaling pathway, etc. Conclusion: The synergetic effect of Linggui Zhugan Decoction with multi-compounds, multi-targets and multi-pathways in the treatment of AD were revealed by network pharmacology, which provides a theoretical basis for the study of its pharmacodynamic material basis and action mechanism.

By functional plates,16 strains which can produce?-mannana-se were isolated frnm 28 Bacillus spp.Using a pair of degenerated primers, the conserved fragments of?-mannanase gene from the selected strains were amplified by PCR.The obtained nucleotide fragments were sequenced and compared with the homologous?-mannanase genes in GenBank and a phylogenetic tree was generated.Comparing to the genes coding?-mannanase published, the cloned nucleotide fragments show the highest sequence identity between 62% and 98%.The genes coding fnr?-mannanase of Bacillus circulus have low identity while the?-mannanase genes of Bacillus subtilis and other Bacillus spp. have high identity.

OBJECTIVETo study the relationship between pharmacological effects and properties of traditional Chinese medicine by the decision tree algorithm.
METHODBased on of pharmacological effects of traditional Chinese medicine, the decision tree algorithm was applied in the study on the relationship between pharmacological effects and properties of traditional Chinese medicines. A model was established with the decision tree algorithm for the purpose of predicting the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components.
RESULTThe established model was reliable and stable, and could be used to predict the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components.
CONCLUSIONThe prediction for the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components with a decision tree model could reflect the theoretical connotation of the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components to some extent and provide a new method for studying the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(07):-
The status of marine bioresources and the marine eco-environment issues were summarized and discussed, and the strategies for the development of Chinese marine bioresources in the future were proposed. The degradation of marine eco-environment and unreasonable exploitation of the resources resulted in acute decline of Chinese marine bioresources. The feasible stratagies for the sustainable use of marine bioresources should be to intensify the basic research on marine bioresources science, to strengthen the protection of the marine environment and conservation of marine living resources, and to exploit and utilize marine bioresources scientifically and reasonably by using high-technology including marine biotechnology.
