OBJECTIVETo investigate the feasibility of peptide mass fingerprinting for non-invasive differential diagnosis of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) from the non-IgA nephropathy (IgAN).?
METHODSAccording to the results of renal biopsy, 56 patients were divided into IgAN group (n=28) and non-IgAN group (n=28), and peptide mass fingerprints were acquired from these patients using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS).
RESULTSNine different peptides were identified between IgAN and non-IgAN. The two most distinctive differentially expressed peptides, with peptide peak values of 4476.46 and 1968.10, showed area under curve values of 86.18% and 79.77%. Principal component analysis demonstrated that the accumulated explained variance of the first 8 differential peptides reached 95%, suggesting the feasibility of differential diagnosis of IgAN from non-IgAN. Comparison with the Matrix protein database identified the peptide with a relative molecular mass of 5338.08 as a fragment of mucin 4 inform and the 2082.77 peptide as fragment of α1-II type collagen inform.
CONCLUSIONMALDI-TOF MS is feasible for differential diagnosis of IgAN and non-IgAN and also has great potentials in the classification of the subtypes of other systemic diseases.

OBJECTIVETo explore the regional anatomy of the rectum including the perirectal fasciae and spaces.
METHODSTwenty-one cadavers (15 males and 6 females) were embalmed and their vessels were visualized by injection with color dye. From the cadavers, 30 hemipelvis and 6 three-quarter pelvis were harvested. The perirectal fasciae and spaces and the pelvic autonomic nerves were dissected and examined.
RESULTSThree tissue layers were dissected from the inside to the periphery including the proper rectal fascia enveloping the mesorectum, the presacral fascia, and the piriformis fascia fused with the sacral periosteum. The mesorectum comprised 2 parts with the classical posterolateral fat covered by the proper rectal fascia posteriorly and the anterior fat covered by the posterior layer of Denonvilliers fascia anteriorly. Extending anteriorly to the anterior layer of Denonvilliers fascia, the presacral fascia bisected the space between the mesorectum and the piriformis fascia into the retrorectal space and the presacral space. The retrorectal space extended cranially to the left retrocolic space, anterior to the space between the 2 layers of Denonvilliers fascia(prerectal space).
CONCLUSIONSFrom the inside to the periphery, the proper rectal fascia, the presacral fascia, and the muscular fascia are distributed in an annular pattern around the mesorectum. The presacral fascia divides the perirectal space into 2 annular parts, the central retrorectal space and the peripheral presacral space. The retrorectal space is the ideal surgical plane for total mesorectal excision.

OBJECTIVE This work aimed to investigate the anti-rheumatoid arthritic effect of gentio-picroside from Gentiana macrophylla Pall using an animal model of adjuvant induced arthritis. METH-ODS Adjuvant arthritis was induced in fifty SD male rats, which were randomly divided into five groups (n=10):control(0.5% CMC-Na)group,AIA(rats with CFA)group,dexamethasone(1 mg·kg-1)group, gentiopicroside(50 mg·kg-1)group,and gentiopicroside(100 mg·kg-1)group.Rats were administered intragastrically with drugs or CMC-Na once a day for a period of 2 weeks.Paw swelling, arthritic index, histological changes were assessed to evaluate the anti-arthritic effect.Weight growth, spleen and thymus indexes were also investigated in.RESULTS Gentiopicroside at dose of 100 mg·kg-1significantly inhibited the secondary paw swelling(P<0.05)and arthritis index(P<0.05),decreased synovial inflammatory infil-tration, synovial hyperplasia and bone erosion. Furthermore, gentiopicroside showed no immunosup-pressive adverse effects in body weight, index of spleen and thyums compared with dexamethasone administration (P<0.05, P<0.01). CONCLUSION Gentiopicroside possessed anti-arthritic efficacy in AIA rats without immunosuppressive effects.

Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2017;25(5):294-299
Objective :
This study ai ms to evaluate the expression of autophagy-related protein cancer phosphatase and tensinhomology deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) and microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 (MAP1LC3) and investigate its significance in tongue squamous cell carcin oma (TSCC).
Methods :
About 46 TSCC samples, 13 cases of precancerous lesion and 13 cases of adjacent tissues were enrolled. Immunohistochemistry were performed to examine the expression of PTEN, MAP1LC3. Statistical analyses were carried out to assess the associations among clinic pathologic parameters.
Results :
The positive expression rate of PTEN (34.78%) in TSCC was significantly lower than that in adjacent tissues (69.23%, χ2 = 4.926, P = 0.026) and precancerous lesions (76.92%, χ2 = 7.302, P = 0.007). The positive expression rate of MAP1LC3 (28.26%) in TSCC was significantly lower than that of adjacent tissues (61.53%, χ2 = 4.896, P = 0.027) and precancerous lesions (69.23%, χ2 = 7.275, P = 0.007), the difference was statistically significant. The expression of PTEN and MAP1LC3 was not correlated with age, sex, smoking, alcohol consumption and cell differentiation (P > 0.05). There was a significant difference in the expression of PTEN and MAP1LC3 in subgroup with different clinical stage and in subgroup with or without lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). There is a significant difference in the tumor recurrence between PTEN protein expression positive subgroup and PTEN protein expression negative subgroup (χ2 = 4.629,P = 0.039), and there was no significant difference in the tumor recurrence between MAP1LC3 protein expression positive subgroup and MAP1LC3 protein expression negative subgroup (χ2 = 0.343,P = 0.453). There was a positive correlation between PTEN and MAP1LC3.
Conclusion
The expression of PTEN and MAP1LC3 suggested that autophagy associated proteins play a pivotal role in the progression, diagnosis and prognosis of TSCC. Down-regulation of PTEN and MAP1LC3 was observed in TSCC.
