2.Expression of RCAS1 in Different Tumor Cell Lines

Objective To investigate the expression of RCAS1,which is a receptor-binding cancer antigen expressed on SiSo cells in many tumor cell lines. Methods Using real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR),Northern blot,immunohistochemical examination and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,we detected the expre-(ssion) of RCAS1 in 10 different tumor cell lines and two normal cell lines. Results The expression of RCAS1 in the tumor cell lines and the fetal renal cell line(293 cell) was detected by real-time PCR and Northern blot,but not in the normal liver cell line(LO2 cell).The results of immunohistochemical examination on the tumor cell lines and the 293 cell showed that RCAS1 existed in cytoplasma and on cell surface.Except HuH-7 cell and LO2 cell,the soluble RCAS1 protein in supernatants of the other cells was significantly more than that in DMEM(P
3.Influence of Electroacupuncture of Neiguan Point on Myocardial Collagen in Rats with Pressure Overload

[Objective] To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) of Neiguan (PC6) poinl on rnyocardial fibrosis and myocardial contents of collagen type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ in rats with pressure overload. [ Methods ] Rats were randomized to four groups: pseudo-operation group ( group A), model group ( group B) , EA group ( group C) and western medicine group (group D). Pressure-overloaded rat models were established by restriction of abdominal aortic artery. Left ventricular mass index (LVMI) and blood pressure (BP) in the four groups were observed; the plasma level of angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ ) was detected by radioimmunoassay and myocardial contents of collagen type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ by immunohistochemical staining method. [Results] BP, LVMI, expression levels of Ang If and collagen type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ were increased in group B as compared with those in group A ( P 0.05) . [Conclusion] EA of Neiguan point is effective in preventing and treating myocardial fibrosis induced by pressure overload.

6.Design of Wireless Monitoring Thermometer

Objective To design a new kind of wireless monitoring thermometer which can help the doctor to monitor the patient's temperature without touching them. Methods The system is based on a new kind of single chip MSP430F413,the thermistor was used in temperature detect part; the single chip's comparator A and timer A was used in A/D converter part to realize slop A/D; the NRF2401 chip was used in wireless transmission part; the system is connected with PC in the way of serial communications. Results The thermometer can work in -40 to 85 ℃ when the temperature is near animal heat,the thermometer is most accurate which precision is 0.1 ℃. Conclusion The system can measure the patient's temperature accurately,at the same time,the temperature data is sent to the receiving end in the way of wireless communication,and then data is sent to PC,which PC can record the temperature curve data and help the doctors to diagnose.
7. Expression of KAI1 in urothelial cancer tissues and its relationship with invasion and metastasis of urothelial cancer

Objective: To investigate the expression of KAI1 gene in the urothelial cancer tissues and its relationship with the invasion and metastasis of urothelial cancer. Methods: The expression of KAI1 mRNA was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative(RFQ-PCR) in urothelial cancer tissues and normal mucosa of urinary tract. The KAI1 protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC) method in bladder transitional cell carcinoma tissues and the paired normal mucosal tissues. Results: QRT-PCR showed that the average level of KAI1 mRNA in the urothelial cancer tissues was significantly lower than that in the normal bladder tissues (P<0.01); moreover, the increase of pathological grades and clinical stages and the development of lymphatic metastasis were associated with the decrease of KAI1 expression, with significant difference found between the different groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01). The protein expression of KAI1 in the urothelial cancer tissues was significantly lower than that in the normal bladder tissues(P<0.01). The protein expression of KAI1 was decreased with the increase of pathological grades (P<0.05 or P<0.01). We also found that higher expression of KAI1 was associated with superficial invasion (P<0.05) and the presence of lymphatic metastasis (P<0.05). Conclusion: The down-regulation of KAI1 gene is associated with differentiation, infiltration, and lymphatic metastasis of urothelial cancer, which might serve as an effective indicator for malignancy, metastasis and prognosis of urothelial cancer.
10.Analysis of avascular necrosis of the femoral head after pediatric femoral neck fractures

Objecfive To identify what factors contribute to the occurrence of avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head after pediatric femoral neck fractures. Methods A series of 33 pediatric femoral neck fractures who had been admitted to our institution between June 1994 and April 2006 were retrospectively reviewed. There were 1 case of type Ⅰ,15 type Ⅱ,14 type Ⅲ and 2 type IV according to Delbet classification. The mean age at injury was 10.7(3.7 to 14.1) years, and the mean follow-up was 3.4(1 to 12.2)years. All patients were followed up until union was achieved. AVN occurred in 16 cases, including 8 cases of Ratliff type Ⅰ,3 of Ratliff type Ⅱ,4 of Ratliff type Ⅲ and 1 unclassified. Age at injury, fracture type, degree of displacement, quality of reduction and type of fixation were calculated and analyzed with respect to AVN. Results AVN occurred in 4 cases (36.4%)under 10 years old and in 12 cases (54.5%)10 years old or more. Eight cases (53.3%)of AVN occurred in Delbet type Ⅱ and 6 cases (42.9%) of AVN occurred in type Ⅲ.One case (25.0%)of AVN occurred in non-displaced group and 14 cases(53.8%)in displaced group. Ten cases(50.O%)of AVN occurred in the group whose reduction quality was satisfactory and 6 cases(66.7%)in unsatisfactory reduction group. Thirteen cases (48.1%)of AVN occurred in the unstable fixation group and 2 cases (50.0%)in the stable fixation group. Conclusion Fracture type, degree of displacement, quality of reduction and age at injury can affect the occurrence of AVN of the femoral head after pediatric femoral neck fractures.
