4.Nerve growth factor and its receptors in tumors of nervous system
Journal of International Oncology 2008;35(10):735-738
Nerve growth factor (NGF) and its high affinity receptor tyrosine kinase (TrkA)are indis-pensable for the development of nervous system. Latest researches reveal that over-expression of NGF and TrkA is related to better outcome in neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma. While in glioma, the over-expression and nuclear translocation of NGF and TrkA are indicators of malignant degree. Study of the expression and sub-cel-lular cocalization of NGF and TrkA can provide new way for the diagnosis and therapy of nervous system tumors.
5.Hybrid external fixator in treatment of severely comminuted and open fractures of proximal or distal tibia
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2010;12(7):647-650
Objective To evaluate the curative effects of Hybrid external fixator in the treatment of severely comminuted and open fractures of the distal or proximal tibia. Methods From March 2004 to December 2008,we treated 27 patients with severely comminuted and open fractures of the distal or proximal tibia with the Hybrid frame purchased from Orthofix Co.in combination with limited internal fixation if necessary. The internal fixation was done with screws in 6 cases, with absorbable interference serews in 4 and with wire in 3.There were 16 males and 11 females, with an average age of 56.2(13 to 80)years.Accordins to Gustilo-Anderson classification, there were 10 cages of typeⅡ,12 cases of type Ⅲ A and 5 cases ofⅢB.The injuries were mostly caused by traffic accident and fall.Postoperative ankle and/or knee funetions were evaluated by Johner-Wrubs system. Results The patients were followed up for 7 to 58 months(average,27 months).Averagely the patients obtained bone union at 6.7 months and fixator removal at 6 months after operation. The postoperative JohnerWruhs score was excellent in 17 cases.good in 8 and fair in 2.The total exceHent to good rate was 92.6%,without wound infection or complications of nerve and vessel injury. There were only 5 cages of local superficial pin tract infection which responded to oral antibiotics and disinfectants. Conclusion In treatment of severely comminuted and open fractures of the distal or proximal tibia,Hybrid frame fixation may lead to limited invasion, reliable fixation, low rate of complications, and early recovery of joint function.

8.Effect of radial axial incision on corneal astigmatism after phacoemulsification
International Eye Science 2017;17(6):1155-1157
AIM: To explore the effect of radial axial incision on corneal astigmatism after phacoemulsification.METHODS: Totally 60 cases (62 eyes) of cataract patients were selected from our hospital, divided into Group A and Group B randomly. Two groups were both required to have a corneal incision, while Group A took it in the maximum corneal refractive radial axial and the Group B took it in the traditional temporal side (right eye) or nasal side (left eye).At the same time two groups received phacoemulsification and foldable intralocular lens (IOL) implantation. We measured their date before surgery, after surgery in 1d, 1wk and 1mo respectively with CT200 corneal topography measurement. The date was compared in two groups of corneal astigmatism, surgically induced astigmatism and visual acuity.According to the corneal astigmatism and axial, surgically induced astigmatism was calculated.RESULTS: Group A and Group B were compared in age, gender, lens nucleus hardness, visual acuity, corneal astigmatism before the surgery, which has no statistically significant differences (P>0.05).Postoperative visual acuity of both groups was higher than preoperative (P<0.05), but the difference was not statistically significant in 1d, 1wk and 1mo after surgery in two groups (P>0.05).Corneal astigmatism was not statistically significant in two groups at 1d after surgery (P>0.05).The corneal astigmatism was significantly less in Group A than that in Group B in 1wk and 1mo after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After the surgery for 1wk and 1mo, the surgically induced astigmatism of Group B was significantly higher than that of the Group A, with the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Making clear corneal incision along the maximum curvature of the cornea in cataract surgery can make the corneal astigmatism and the degree of astigmatism less after surgery.
10.Study on distolingual root canal curvature on permanent mandibular first molars by the cone-beam computed tomography
The Journal of Practical Medicine 2015;(13):2170-2173
Objective To measure the curvatures of the distolingual root canals of permanent mandibular first molars by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods The CBCT was used to collect 230 cases of mandibular first molar distalingual root from 513 patients. The images were created by 3-D reconstruction based on the BECT data. Images were analyzed by NNT image analysis software. Each tooth was captured in clinical (CV) and proximal view (PV) image, and measured by the Schneider method. Results The average curvature of the distallingual canal was (13.27 ± 8.57)° in CV, and (30.96 ± 11.63)° in PV. Most of the distallingual root in the buccolingual view was mild bending or moderate bending , and the proximal view was severe bending. The distal lingual root bending was the most common in the crown third of the root , next in the apical third of the root, in the middle third of the root. Conclusion CBCT is an effective tool for the detection of additional distolingual roots and is a valuable aid for dentists in root canal treatment.
