Aim To investigate the effect of oleoylethanolamide (OEA),a new PPAR? agonist,on focal cerebral ischemia in mice. Methods Transient focal cerebral ischemia in mice was induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion for 1.5 h. OEA was orally administered either with multiple doses (10,20,40 mg?kg-1) once a day for 3 days before ischemia or single dose (40 mg?kg-1) at 0.5 h before or 1 h before ischemic, the same time of reperfusion or 1 h after reperfusion respectively.Neurological deficit score, infarct volume and brain edema were determined. Results Pretreatment with multiple doses (20,40 mg?kg-1) of OEA before ischemia or single dose (40 mg?kg-1) of OEA at 0.5 h before ischemia or at the same time of reperfusion significantly attenuated neurological deficit score, decreased infarct volume and alleviated brain edema, and the treatment at the time of reperfusion had the most marked effect. Conclusion Oleoylethano-lamide has a dose-and time-dependent neuroprotective effect on the injury in the acute phase of transient focal cerebral ischemia in mice, with effective doses of 20 mg?kg-1 and 40 mg?kg-1 and the optimal therapeutic time point of the same time of reperfusion.

Objective To study a novel method for the high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR) CT image to the intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) CT image deformable image registration and dose accumulation. Methods The applicator in the HDR CT image is first segmented and removed, then a deflation step is performed on the applicator-free HDR CT image by solving the Navier-Stokes equation.Demons algorithm is utilized to register the deflated HDR CT image to the IMRT CT image, along with the HDR dose. The deformed HDR dose is then added on the IMRT dose and yield the final accumulated dose. Results The HDR CT image and IMRT CT image,as well as the corresponding dose distribution, from five cervical cancer patients are used for evaluation of the proposed algorithm, the results show that the proposed method can effectively get rid of the influence of the applicator and produce an accurate accumulated dose. Conclusions Dose accumulation and supervision is an important step in adaptive radiotherapy for accurate dose delivery and treatment plan re-optimization.The proposed method in this study can effectively accumulate the HDR dose to the IMRT dose domain, and the accuracy is proved to be sufficient for clinical needs.

Objective:The effect of the linseeds,VE and ethoxyquinoline in feed on the productive performance of the Hailanhong layers and ?-3 PUFA deposition in the yolk of laying eggs was studied. Method:Four hundred and eighty healthy layers of 48 weeks of age were randomly selected. The linseeds,VE and ethoxyquinoline of different levels in diet were fed on these layers. The indices of the productive performance and the fatty acids content of yolk were determined. The regression model of the fatty acids deposition was established. Results:The effect of the linseeds,VE and ethoxyquinoline in feed on the productive performance was slight. The most deposition of ?-3 PUFA was found by adding linseeds 15%,VE 0.17g/kg feed without ethoxyquinoline. Conclusion:The deposition of ?-3 PUFA in eggs could be regulated by controlling the proportion of linseeds and VE in feed with no effect on productive performance of layers.
