This study examined the effects of a combined surgery of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) and modified jejunoileal bypass (JIB) on the body weight, food intake, and the plasma levels of active glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and total ghrelin of rats. Rats were divided into 3 groups in terms of different surgical protocol: SG-JIB (n=12), SG (n=12), JIB (n=12) and sham surgery groups (n=10). In SG-JIB group, rats was subjected to sleeve gastrectomy and end to side anastomosis of part of the jejunum (25 cm from the ligament of Treitz) to the ileum 25 cm proximal to the cecum. The body weight and food intake were evaluated during 10 consecutive weeks postoperatively. The levels of active GLP-1 and total ghrelin in the plasma of the rats were measured by ELISA assay. The results showed that the SG-JIB treated rats relative to SG- or JIB-treated ones produced a sustained reduction in food intake and weight gain. The level of active GLP-1 was elevated and total ghrelin level decreased in SG-JIB-treated rats as compared with SG- or JIB-treated ones. It was concluded that SG-JIB could efficiently reduce the body weight and food intake, alter obesity-related hormone levels of the rats, indicating that SG-JIB may be potentially used for the treatment of obesity.

OBJECTIVE:To provide the new idea for clinical pharmacists providing pharmaceutical care in oncology depart-ment. METHODS:Applying the principles and methods of clinical pathway, the pharmaceutical care of anti-tumor drugs could be divided into before medication, during medication, after medication and patient education, according to the sequence of taking med-icine. On the basis of evidence-based medicine, the care contents of each unit were established, and the pharmaceutical care path-way (PCP) was formed. During chemotherapy duration for a breast cancer metastasis patient with liver function injury, clinical pharmacists conducted pharmaceutical care for drug pretreatment,ADR monitoring and disposal, patient education,as well as put forward the proposal of drug treatment as supplementing calcium, adjusting the dose of epirubicin and paclitaxel targeting on PCP of zoledronic acid, epirubicin and paclitaxel. RESULTS:Physicians adopted the pharmacist’s recommendations. The patient suf-fered from joint and muscle pain during chemotherapy, and the symptom was relieved after symptomatic treatment by celecoxib;chest and back discomfort was relieved significantly after chemotherapy, and the disease condition kept stable. The patient was dis-charged from the hospital. CONCLUSIONS:PCP focus on the time, content and countermeasures of pharmaceutical care, the pro-gram and treatment results of pharmaceutical care, and promote standardization, formalization, simplification and procedure of pharmaceutical care. Clinical pharmacists conduct individualized pharmaceutical care rapidly targeting on PCP so as to deepen the communication of clinical pharmacists with physicians, nurses and patients, and promote the development of pharmaceutical care smoothly.

Objective:To evaluate the association between the polymorphisms in TP63 rs6790167 and lung cancer. Methods:We per-formed a case-control study with 258 patients and 270 controls. Genomic DNA was extracted using a blood genome extraction kit. Ge-notyping was conducted using allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (AS-PCR). Results:No significant difference was observed in the genotype of TP63 rs6790167 between cases and controls, and allele frequencies significantly elevated in the cases (P=0.045). In a further stratified analysis by gender and smoking status, the frequencies of the GG genotype and G allele of rs6790167 were signifi-cantly higher in non-smoking male patients with lung adenocarcinoma (P=0.000, P=0.001), individuals with GG genotype had a higher risk for lung adenocarcinoma in non-smoking man (OR=6.66, 95%CI:2.16-20.41). Individuals with G allele had a higher risk for lung ad-enocarcinoma in a non-smoking man (OR=2.54, 95%CI:1.42-4.56) in comparison with individuals with A allele. Conclusion:We found that the polymorphisms of TP63 rs6790167 were associated with the risk for lung adenocarcinoma in non-smoking men and that these polymorphisms may be a predictor for lung adenocarcinoma in non-smoking men.

Objective:To investigate the correlation between protein C -1641A/-1654C haplotype and coagulation disorder in Chinese Han septic patients. Methods:The genotypes of protein C gene -1641A>G (rs1799809) and -1654C>T (RS1799808) in septic patients were detected by direct sequencing, and their haplotypes were analyzed and divided into two groups according to the haplotype, -1641A/-1654C (AC) carriers and non-AC haplotype carriers. At the same time, unpaired t test or Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the differences in coagulation/fibrinolytic parameters, including partial activated thrombin time, prothrombin time, internationally standardized ratio of prothrombin time, thrombin time, fibrinogen and D-dimer levels, as well as APC levels between the two groups. Results:A total of 174 septic patients were included in this study, including 60 AC haplotype carriers and 114 non-AC haplotype carriers. Compared with non-AC haplotype carriers, AC haplotype carriers had significantly lower platelet counts, significantly longer partial activated thrombin time, and significantly decreased activated protein C levels. Other coagulation/fibrinolytic parameters including prothrombin time, internationally standardized ratio of prothrombin time, thrombin time, fibrinogen and D-dimer were not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusions:In this study, the protein C-1641A/-1654C haplotype was found to lead to decreased circulating activated protein C levels decreased platelet counts, and prolonged partial activated thrombin time in septic patients. These results suggest that the protein C-1641A/-1654C haplotype may directly affect the APC level and consequently influence the coagulation disorder of sepsis.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of spatial orientation language comprehension and expression behavior ofchildren with autism. MethodsA three-ladder test was designed to test the comprehension and expression of "(go/come) to" sentences, including general subject-predicate sentences, conjunctive-predicate sentences with displacement purposes, and conjunctive-predicate sentences with displacement modes. March to June, 2022, the test was conducted on 17 children with autism from a special education school and 17 healthy children matched the scores of Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Chinese revised from a kindergarten. The typical errors were analyzed for children with autism. ResultsThe main effects of sentence ladders (F > 3.718, P < 0.05) and children groups (F > 8.782, P < 0.001) were significant on comprehension and expression of sentences, while the performance was poor for the complex sentences and for the children with autism. The common types of errors in expression were missing components, mixed sentences, autonomous sentences, inaccurate wording, inconsistent content, blending errors and non-response. The numbers and the distribution of error types were quite different from the children with autism to the healthy children. ConclusionChildren with autism are more difficult to understand and express "(go/come) to" sentences, mainly manifested in a higher error frequency and more kinds of error.

Objective:
To investigate the association of SNPs in TET2 gene with the susceptibility and prognosis of sepsis.
Methods:
Ninety-nine patients diagnosed with sepsis and 107 controls were enrolled in the study. The septic patients were further divided into survivors (56 cases) and non-survivors (43 cases) according to the outcome of 28-day hospitalization. Patients without sepsis after major surgery were enrolled as the controls. The genotypes of the five loci (rs6839705, rs7670522, rs7679673, rs7698522 and rs10010325) with high minor allele frequency in the TET2 were screened according to the existing research reports and the SNP database of the NCBI website. The five loci were detected by TaqMan probe based allelic discrimination assays using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The data were calculated for genetic association study through χ2 test and Fisher’s exact probability method.
Results:
There was no significant difference in genotype frequencies of the five tested SNPs in TET2 gene between septic patients and controls or between survivors and non-survivors in septic patients (
