Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2009;16(11):1923-1925
Objective To study the changes and clinical significance of glutathione redox-state in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods Based on both with or without atherogenic risk factors and the result of coronary arteriography, 118 patients were calssified into three groups: control group( n =30) ,risk group(n =28) and CHD group (n =60). Venous blood sample was obtained, then the plasma reduced glutathione ( GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSC) were measured by using glutathione reductase recycling method. Redox potential(EhCSH/GSSG) was calculated using Nernst equation. According to clinical situation,CHD group was divided into two subgroups:un-stable angina pectoris( UAP) group(n = 32) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) group (n =28). Results From control group to risk group, then to CHD group,GSH gradually decreased, and there was significant difference between CHD group and control group (P < 0.05 ) , but GSSG and EhGSH/GSSG gradually increased, there was significant difference between CHD group and risk group and control group (P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference be-tween the UAP subgroup and AMI subgroup in GSH,GSSG and EhGSH/GSSG(P >0.05). Conclusions Body's an-tioxidant capacity decreases and the oxidative stress exists in artherosclerosis, and furthermore there is a certain degree of relevance between oxidative stress and hyperlipoidemia, all these show that improving this situation may decelerate or prevent the formation and progress of artherosclerosis.

3.Travoprost effect on IOP in POAG patients with phacoemulsification and intraoclular lens implantaion
International Eye Science 2014;(8):1444-1446
AIM: To investigate the effect of lowering intraocular pressure ( IOP ) and side effect of travoprost ( TA ) on phacoemulsification and intraoclular lens ( IOL ) implantation in primary open-angle glaucoma ( POAG) .
METHODS: Patients with POAG already received surgery of phacoemulsification and IOL implantation were selected by randomized, single - blind, parallel group trial. TA was applied once a day in 43 patients (43 eyes) of treatment group and brinzolamide was used twice in 43 patients ( 43 eyes ) of control group. All patients were observed for 12wk. IOP, ocular symptom and adverse reaction etc. were observed.
RESULTS: The daily average IOP ( mean ± standard deviation) in the treatment group decreased from (24. 20±3.01)mmHg (1mmHg=0.133kPa) to (16.77±2.89)mmHg and that in the control group was from ( 23. 87±3. 47 ) mmHg to ( 18. 81± 3. 07 ) mmHg. IOP pre- and pro-treatment within two groups had significant difference ( P<0. 01), IOP between the groups at each time point had statistical difference (P<0. 05). Conjunetival congestion increased and itching in treatment group was obviously more serious than that in the control group, but the treatment could continue. No other ocular and systemic adverse events related to the drugs were found.
CONCLUSION: It is demonstrated that travoprost is highly effective and safe in reducing IOP in POAG already received surgery of phacoemulsification and IOL implantation.

Objective To study the expression of skin aspartic protease (SASPase) in lesions of cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) and its role in the pathogenesis of CLE.Methods Skin samples were resected from the lesions and normal skin of 9 patients with CLE,including 3 cases of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE),4 cases of discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) and 2 cases of acute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (ACLE).Keratinocytes were isolated from the tissue samples and cultured in serum-free medium.Total proteins were extracted from the keratinocytes and separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis.ImageMaster 2D analysis software was used to assess differentially expressed proteins in keratinocytes between the lesional and normal skin, which were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS).The expression levels of SASPase were further determined by Western blot. The data were analyzed statistically by Student's t test. Results Keratinocytes were isolated from the tissue samples and successfully cultured in vitro.Two-dimensional electrophoresis profiles of proteins from the keratinocytes were obtained with high resolution and reproducibility, and the average matching protein spots were about 1200 with the matching rate higher than 80%.As Western blot showed, the relative expression level of SASPase was 0.463 ± 0.018 in keratinocytes from the lesional skin, and 0.145 ± 0.011 in those from the normal skin (P < 0.05).The Western blot results were consistent with those of two-dimensional electrophoresis. Conclusion The initiation and progression of CLE seem to be associated with the abnormal activation and overexpression of SASPase.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2016;49(6):444-447
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an inflammatory skin disease closely related to impairment of skin barrier function.Hereditary factors, life style and exposure to the environment all contribute to the occurrence of AD.Even though AD occurs mostly in infants, sometimes it may initially occur in adults, which is called adult-onset AD (AOAD).There are evident differences in types, immunological mechanisms and association with other diseases between childhood AD and AOAD.The lesional distribution of AOAD is similar to that of childhood AD,while AOAD is characterized by subacute and chronic dermatitis, and mainly manifests as dry hypertrophic lesions rarely complicated with exudation.Th1/Th2 imbalance and hyperfunction of antigen-presenting cells are immunological basis of AD occurrence. Moreover,FLG gene mutations are associated with the occurrence of AD.Acquired expression defect in the FLG gene induced by elevated levels of interleukin-13 (IL-13) only occurs in adults, suggesting that AOAD is different from AD that initially occurs during infancy and continues into adulthood.Infection, changes of bacterial flora in the skin and intestinal tract, and smoking are all important causative factors of AOAD,thus enquiries about histories of related diseases and smoking are helpful for the diagnosis of AOAD.
