Objective To evaluate the role of serum homocysteine (HCY) in diabetes mellitus(DM ) complicating proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) .Methods 174 patients with DM were selected and divided into PDR ,non‐PDR(NPDR) and non‐dia‐betic retinopathy (NDR) groups .The serum HCY level was detected .Results Serum HCY levels in the PDR ,NPDR and NDR groups were (18 .20 ± 5 .60) ,(14 .40 ± 6 .70) and ,(12 .10 ± 6 .80)μmol/L respectively ,which was highest in the PDR group (P<0 .05) .Conclusion HCY could result in PDR generation possibly by injuring the retinal blood vessels .

Objective To assessthe association of polymorphism in angiotensin converting enzyme insertion/deletion (ACE I/D) gene with curative effect of hypotensive drugs.Methods The studies concerning association of ACE I/D with curative effect of hypotensive drugs were retrieved by searching data base,and then screened according to inclusive and exclusive criteria.Meta-analysis was performed by review manager 5.3 software.WMD and OR were used to assess difference of levels or effective rate of blood pressure degression among DD,DI and Ⅱ gcnotype.Results Totally 12 articles with 2 528 patients were included in this study.For all patients,WMD (95％ CI) with DD:Ⅱ genotype reflecting degression level of systolic pressure (SP) and diastolic pressure (DP) were respectively 5.92(4.09～7.75) and 1.70(1.03～ 2.38),and OR (95％CI) reflecting effective rate of blood pressure degression was 2.49 (1.44～ 4.31),with statistical significance (P＜ 0.05).For subgroup analysis according to hypotensive drugs,using angiotensin Ⅱ receptor blocker (ARB),WMD (95 ％CI) of SP and DP were respectively 9.16(6.51～11.82) and 1.84(0.10～3.57) in DD:Ⅱ,or 6.75(4.21～9.28) and 3.38(0.16～6.61) in DI ∶ Ⅱ genotype,all with P＜0.05.There were no statistical significance for diuretic in DD ∶ Ⅱ,DD ∶ DI and DI ∶ Ⅱ.Using angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI),OR (95％CI) were respectively 3.79(1.80～8.01) and 2.97(1.34～6.55) in DD:Ⅱ and DD:DI,with P＜0.05.Conclusion Compared with I allele in patient,ACEI and ARB were more effective for D allele,while there were no difference for curative effect of diuretic between I allele and D allele.

Objective To analyze surgical diagnosis and treatment effect of 25 cases with gastric stump carcinoma.Methods The clinical manifestations and therapies of 25 cases with gastric stump carcinoma in our hospital from 1992 to 2003 were analyzed retrospectively.We sum up the surgical methods and postoperative survival rate.Results The postoperative survival rates of 1,3 and 5 years in 25 cases with gastric stump carcinoma were 60.2%,34.2% and 18.6% respectively,and were 81.4%,48.2% and 36.7% respectively in cases treated with radical resection.Conclusion No specific symptoms were identified,endoscopy examination periodically is the key point to detect gastric stump carcinoma.Radical resection is the most effective surgical style for surgical treatment of gastric stump carcinoma.

Objective To evaluate the association between matrix metalloproteinase‐1 (MMP‐1)‐1 607 bp 1G/2G and matrix metalloproteinase‐3(MMP‐3)‐1 171 bp 5A/6A polymorphisms in promoter regions and susceptibility to ovarian cancer by Meta‐a‐nalysis .Methods Case‐control studies with regards of relationship between MMP‐1‐1 607 bp 1G/2G ,MMP‐3‐1 171 bp 5A/6A pol‐ymorphisms in promoter regions and susceptibility to ovarian cancer were searched in electronic databases .Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to evaluate the association between polymorphisms and susceptibility .RevMan5 .0 software was applied for data analysis .Results Eight studies ,containing 5 studies for MMP‐1 and 3 studies for MMP‐3 ,were selected .For MMP‐1‐1 607 bp 1G/2G ,OR(95% CI)=0 .95 (0 .74-1 .21) ,P=0 .67 under 1G/1G :1G/2G+2G/2G model ,OR(95% CI)=0 .93 (0 .70-1 .23) ,P=0 .60 under 1G/1G :2G/2G model ,OR(95% CI)=0 .99 (0 .87-1 .14) ,P=0 .91 under 1G :2G model;for MMP‐3‐1 171 bp 5A/6A ,OR(95% CI)=0 .97(0 .68-1 .38) ,P=0 .85 under 5A/5A+5A/6A :6A/6A model .Overall ,there was statisti‐cal significance .Conclusion It is still not confirmed that significant association between the MMP‐1‐1 607 bp 1G/2G and MMP‐3‐1 171 bp 5A/6A polymorphisms in promoter regions and susceptibility to ovarian cancer exists in current literature .

Objective To investigate the role of rheumatoid factor(RF) ,C‐reactive protein(CRP) ,erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) .Methods 74 RA patients and 90 patients with symptoms similar to RA were recruited in the study randomly .Blood samples were detected for the levels of RF ,CRP ,ESR .The results were compared between two groups .Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC) was used to access the diagnostic efficiency .Results The levels of RF , CRP ,ESR of RA group were (271 .4 ± 560 .9)IU/mL ,(28 .7 ± 35 .6)mg/L ,(60 .9 ± 40 .1)mm/h ,respectively ,and were higher than those of control group which were (56 .8 ± 189 .3)IU/mL ,(15 .4 ± 24 .7)mg/L ,(45 .1 ± 33 .1)mm/h respectively .ROC analysis re‐vealed that the AUC of RF ,CRP ,ESR and combined detection of the 3 factors were 0 .784 ,0 .666 ,0 .615 ,0 .757 ,respectively with statistical significance(P<0 .05) .Conclusion RF ,CRP ,ESR are useful in the diagnosis of RA ,and RF has the highest diagnostic ef f iciency .

Objective To evaluate the association of angiotensin (AGT ) gene M235T polymorphism with essential hypertension (EH) .Methods The literatures examining the association of the M 235T polymorphisms with EH were selected in electronic data-bases .Using RevMan5 .0 ,heterogeneity and pooled effect sizes were calculated .Results Totally ,29 articles ,with 5 971 cases and 6 443 controls were finally included in this study .The odds ratio (OR) value of TT+ TM∶MM genotype was 1 .13 (95% CI 1 .00-1 .25 ,P=0 .04) in worldwide populations .Subgroup analysis showed that the OR values of TT ∶MM genotype were 1 .13 (95% CI 0 .90-1 .42 ,P=0 .28) in subjects published before 2008 and 1 .29(95% CI 0 .94-1 .75 ,P=0 .11) in those after 2008(year of 2008 included) .The OR values of T ∶M in Han population was 1 .24 (95% CI 1 .01-1 .53 ,P=0 .04) .Conclusion TT+ TM genotype of the M235T polymorphisms is associated with EH in worldwide populations ,and T allele is also correlated with EH in Han popu-lation .

An App for Android intelligent mobile phone to recite prescriptions in rhyme and learn infused pre-scriptions of traditional Chinese medicine was developed in order to meet the requirement of students majoring in traditional Chinese medicine and lovers of traditional Chinese medicine, which can show the assistant and guide of prescriptions in rhyme by different colors. An interface linked with each corresponding traditional Chinese medicine was added into the App to show its picture, properties, effect and application for the interaction between database server and mobile phone users and the aim to recite prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine and learn tradi-tional Chinese medicine.

Objective To investigate the clinical results of the treatment of complex femoral and tibial fractures using Grosse Kempf intramedullary interlocking nails. Methods Grosse Kempf intramedullary interlocking nails were used to treat 38 cases of complex femoral and tibial fractures. 12 cases of them were opened fractures, and 26 cases were closed. There were 24 cases of femoral fractures and 14 cases of tibial fractures. The average age was 33.6 years. Most of them were reduced under x ray monitoring. CPM rehabilitation started after the operation to gain the funtional recovey. After two weeks walking with crutches began. Results After the operation, all the wounds healed by first intention. The average union time of the fractures was 10.5 weeks (8～12 weeks). The average follow up period was 14.5 months. With all the cases rated as good or excellent, the clinical results were satisfactory. Conclusion Grosse-Kempf intramedullary interlocking nails are an effective, strong, convenient and secure implant to treat complex femoral and tibial fractures.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of the newly discovered tricuspid injury during the fol-low -up of the patients with interventional transcatheter closure for perimembranous ventricular septal defect (VSD). Methods A retrospective analysis of clinical data was performed in the successful completion of membranous VSD in-tervention from March 2003 to April 2015,and 11 cases of serious tricuspid injury in children were found during the fol-low -up.Results Among 11 children,10 cases underwent surgery again,and in 7 cases of them with pseudoaneurysm of perimembranous septum,the occluders were deviated toward the right ventricul which caused valvular inadequacy for plate winding closures,extrusion and wear of tricuspid chordae and /or leaflet by right ventricul(RV)disc.Among them,1 case was caused by leaflet fusion tear and tricuspid valve insufficiency;3 cases without pseudoaneurysm were caused by a spindle like RV disc recovery structure protruding into the right ventricle,and then the disc squeezed the tricuspid tendinous cord or leaflet and the right ventricular disc nut wrapped tendon of tricuspid valve finally leading to tricuspid valve insufficiency.There was a small amount of tricuspid regurgitation after surgery;the cardiac size and car-diac function returned to normal.One case did not receive surgery,and at present the right atrium and right ventricle were significantly enlarged,and the activity was limited.Conclusions Tricuspid injury discovered newly after perimem-branous VSD interventional therapy is more common in pseudoaneurysm with large tumor occluding the right ventricular disc resulting in poor formation,and it is important to consider these factors in choosing the size of the occluder and the operation.Long term follow -up mechanism should be established for the treatment of VSD after interventional therapy.
