China Pharmacy 2007;0(26):-
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the perioperative application of antibacterials in our hospital.METHODS: The application of antibacterial drugs in 142 surgery patients sampled randomly from our hospital in 2006 was investigated in respect of the variety of drugs, medication time and drug combination etc.RESULTS: 100% of the total 142 cases received antibacterials for prophylaxis purpose for 6.8 days on average.58 cases(40.8%) received antibacterials before operation,8 cases(5.6%) during operation and 76 cases(53.5%) after operation.35.8% were rational on the whole and 64.2% irrational in drug use.CONCLUSIONS: The application of antibacterials in our hospital is worrisome, therefore,it is urgent to tighten control on the clinical application of antibacterials.

Objective The kinetic house tree person test has many advantages compare to traditional psychometrics, but also some limits such as scoring subjectively and ambiguous. This research attempted to develop a reliable scoring system. That can distinguish college students with emotional disorder from normal college students by employing kinetic house tree person (KHTP) drawings. Methods 143 College students were invited to partake in the research KHTP drawings, the Beck Depression Inventory Ⅱ (BDI-Ⅱ),the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were administered to the subjects.Undergraduates with a BDI score of ≥ 14 or a BAI score of ≥8 were classified as the clinical group, while those with a BDI-Ⅱ and a BAI score are minimal were classified as the controis. The researcher and an expert studied and analyzed the KHTP drawings Manual, filtrate 35 indicators correlate to emotional disorder, and then researcher make standard for evaluation of every indicator. The standard for evaluation were then revised by the researcher and another rater then finalized by the expert. Results The results showed that 35 indicators correlate to emotional disorder were found, and there were significant differences in facial expressions (x2 =19.109,P<0.01) and actions (x2 =13.341,P< 0.01) between clinical group and normal group. The Pearson coefficient of concordance showed that the inter-rater reliability and inner-rater reliability was consistent(r=0.932,r=0.913,P<0.01).The t-test was employed to verify the discriminant validity between the clinical and control groups. The result showed that a significant discriminant validity was found with the scoring system developed in this research(t=14.890,P<0.01).Conclusion The scoring system developed from this study has good inter-rater reliability,inner-rater reliability and discriminant validity.

Objective To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Reflective Function Questionnaire for Youth(RFQY). Methods School sample:a total of 1 813 students from the fifth grade primary school to the second grade high school were selected for the study(aged 10 to 17 years). Clinical patients:another 52 adolescents(aged under 17 years)with borderline trait who attended Department of Psychiatry in Shengjing Hospital were recruited. All subjects completed the RFQY,basic empathy scale( BES )and emotional intelligence scale(EIS). After 3 weeks,85 students were randomly selected and filled in the questionaires again. Results The internal consistency of the RFQY was 0.73,and the test?retest reliability was 0.686(P<0.001). The RFQY scores of the school students were significantly higher than those in clinical patients(8.71±0.65 vs 8.10±0.89,P<0.001). The RFQY scores of male students were significantly lower than those in female students(8.61±0.67 vs 8.78±0.63,P<0.001). The score increased with the age increased(P<0.001). Conclusion The Chinese version of RFQY shows good reliability and validity , which can be used to measure the reflective function of adolescents in China .

Objective To investigate the effects of folic acid on apoptosis of neural cells after focal cerebral ischemia injury in rats and the mechanisms.Method Thirty two adult male Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(SO),middle cerebral artery occlusion group(MCAO),MCAO+ low dose folic acid group(MCAO+FA-L) and MCAO+ high dose folic acid group(MCAO+FA-H).The model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) was set up by using intraluminal filament method. The rats were sacrificed at D7 day after cerebral ischemia. The apoptotic rate of neural cells was examined by TUNEL test, and the expression of pERK1/2 protein was detected by Western blotting method,The MDA content and serum SOD and GSH-Px activities in rats were measured before and 28d after folic acid treatment and 7th day after ischemia. Results Compared with ischemia group, the apoptotic rate of neural cells and MDA content in both folic acid supplemented groups were decreased significantly(P

Objective To study the effects of folate(Fol) on proliferation, apoptosis and the antioxidative capacity of the NSCs under hypoxia in vitro.Method The NSCs taken from infant rats brain were cultured by serum-free medium in vitro and divided into four group which were normal control group(NC),hypoxia group(Hyp),Hpy+Fol-D(folate deficient)group and Hpy+Fol group.Except NC group, the other groups were cultured in hypoxia condition for 6 h.The proliferation of NSCs after hypoxia damage was detected by MTT test. The NSCs were collected after being cultured 6 d and then the activity of SOD and GSH-PX was examined. The expression of activated caspase-3 was detected by Western blot. Results Compared with NC group, the proliferation of NSCs and the activity of SOD and GSH-PX decreased significantly after hypoxia, while the expression of activated caspase-3 increased0 The proliferation of NSCs and the activity of SOD and GSH-PX in Hyp group were significantly higher than Hyp+Fol-D group but much lower than Hpy+Fol group(P

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have verified that under normal culture of neural stem cells (NSCs), folic acid can accelerate proliferation of NSCs by phosphorylation of mitogen activated protein kinase path activation ERK1/2. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of folic acid on NSC extracellular signal regulatory protein kinase pERK1/2 under hypoxic condition. METHODS: NSCs from Neonatal rats were cultured in vitro by serum-free culture method, and incubated in a flask at 1×10~8/L. Except normal control group, self-made hypoxia equipment was used in the hypoxia model, folic acid deficiency and folic acid supplemented groups at day 3. At 37 ℃, hypoxia culture was conducted in the thermostat for 6 hours. The contents of folic acid were 4 mg/L, 4 mg/L, 0.65 mg/L, 8 mg/L in the four groups. Cells following 6 days were collected to count the density using trypan blue. RT-PCR was utilized to detect pERK1/2 mRNA expression. Western blot assay was employed to determine pERK1/2 protein expression. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Compared with the normal control group, the proliferation of NSCs and the expression of ERK1/2mRNA and pERK1/2 protein were decreased significantly in the hypoxia model group. Compared with the hypoxia model group, the proliferation of NSCs and the expression of ERK1/2mRNA and pERK1/2 protein were increased in the folic acid supplemented group, whereas decreased in the folic acid deficiency group. There were significant differences among groups (P < 0.001). Above-described results verified that folic acid supplementation can activate ERK1/2 phosphorylatin and accelerate proliferation of NSCs under hypoxia condition.
