Objective To establish quality standard for prepared slices of salt-processed psoralea corylifolia.Methods Psoralen and isopsoraten in the crude psoralea corylifolia and its salt-processed products were determined by traditional identification,thin-layer identification and HPLC method.Water,ash,extract,pesticide residue and heavy metals were also detected.Results The average content of total content determination for psoralen and isopsoraten in more than 10 patches of crude and processed samples was not below 0.5% and 0.6% respectively.Conclusion HPLC method is simple and the result is reliable with good repeatability and can be used for the determination of the components in psoralea corylifolia.The quality control standards of the psoralea corylifolia is normative,systematic and the result is accurate.

Objective To establish systematic and integrated quality standard for Citrus medica. Methods To make clear the ancient applicated history and the present situation of the research of Citrus medica. The breed resources citrus medica and its medicinal present situation were investigated, and some chemical constituents from citrus medica were extracted and separated. Qualitative and quantitative methods were employed on citrus medica by HPLC methods. Results Changes in the distribution of the two variety resources of citrus medica were discovered, and six components were separated and identificated. The identificated characteristics of the two variety was found in the HPLC fingerprint for the first time. Some methods such as character identification, thin-layer identification, check of water and ash, determination of useful ingredients and the content of extracturm were established to evaluate quality standard for citrus medica. Conclusion The research on quality control standards of the citrus media is systematic and integrated, and these methods are scientific and accurate, which are suggested to the country to adopt.

Objective To establish the quality standard of Qingshen Granules. Methods Thin-layer chrmatography was used to identify Rheum officinale Baill., Hedyotis Diffusa Wild. and Coptis chinensis Franch.. The contents of rhein, emodin and chrysophanol were determined by HPLC. The HPLC consisted of Kromasil C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm), methanol-0.1% phosphonic acid (70∶30) as mobile phase, flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, detection wavelength at 245 nm, and the column temperature was 30 ℃. Results The results of TLC showed that relevant spots were clear without interference against the negative sample. The calibration curves for rhein, emodin and chrysophanol were found to be linear within the range of 0.003 3-0.42 μg (r =0.999 9), 0.008 0-0.51 μg (r=1.000 0), 0.009 9-0.32 μg (r=1.000 0), respectively. The average recoveries were 98.84%, 99.04% and 100.35% with RSD of 1.30% (n=6), 1.34% (n=6) and 1.89% (n=6), respectively. Conclusion The methods are accurate and quick in qualitative identification and quantitative assay, and can be used for the quality control of Qingshen Granules.

Objective To investigate the expression of calcium-binding protein S100A4 in pancreatic carcinoma and its clinical significannce.Methods Immunohistochemistry EliVisionTM Plus method was used to examine the expression of S100A4 in 70 surgical specimens of primary pancreatic carcinoma and 15 patients with noncarcinoma pancreatic tissues.The correlation between the expression of S100A4 and the clinicopathological parameters was analyzed.Results S100A4 was positive in 52(52/70,74.3％) specimens of primary pancreatic carcinoma according to immunohistochemistry detection.No expression of S100A4 in adjacent noncarcinoma pancreatic tissues was detected.The expression of S100A4 did not correlated with gender,age or tumor site while it was significantly correlated with tumor size,grade of differentiation,TNM stages,lymph node metastasis and survival.Disease-free survival and overall survival of the negative group were significantly longer than the positive group.The difference had statistical significance.Conclusion The study shows that over expression of S100A4 protein is closely related with clinicopathological parameters of pancreatic cancer patients,indicating poor prognosis for pancreatic cancer patients.

This study was aimed to analyze the volatile constituents from flower, stem tip and seed of Cucurbita moschata Duch.(Miben). The volatiles were analyzed by head-space solid micro-extraction, coupled with GC-MS and Kovats indices for the first time . The results showed that 22 compounds were identified from the flower , 20 from the stem tip and 21 from the seed of the C. moschata (Miben). The total essential constituents from each part were 91 . 89%, 89 . 24% and 96 . 26%, respectively . A total of 10 compounds in the flower and stem tip were mutual. And 3 compounds in the flower, stem tip and seed were mutual. It was concluded that the β-bourbonene (17.57%) and heneicosane (11.90%) were the highest components of the total essential constituents of the flower of C. moschata (Miben). Decanal (28.77%) was the highest components of the stem tip and hexadecanoic acid ethyl ester (29.12%), 2,3-butanediol (16.90%) and linoleic acid ethyl ester (16.52%) were the highest compo-nents of seed of C. moschata (Miben).

OBJECTIVETo compare the components and contents of volatile oil in Gardenia jasminoids, Zingiber officinale, G. jasminoids roasted with ginger juice and to provide scientific basis for intrinsic material of G. jasminoids roasted with ginger juice.

METHODThe volatile oil in the three herbal medicines was extracted by steam distillation, the components were analyzed by GC-MS and the contents of the components were calculated by area normalization method.

RESULTThe contents of volatile oil in G. jasminoids, Z. officinale, G. jasminoids roasted with ginger juice were 1.0, 2.0, 1.5 microL x g(-1), respectively. A total of 89 components were identified by GC-MS. Although 42, 75 and 77 peaks were separated, only 30, 58 and 67 components were identified accordingly, which accounted 94.1%, 90.52% and 94.38% of the whole volatile oil.

CONCLUSIONAfter being processed with ginger juice, the components and contents of volatile oil in G. jasminoids has been changed obviously.

OBJECTIVETo develop the preparation method of licorice juice as a processing excipient and to determine the proper proportion of licorice juice and fructus evodiae during process.

METHODNine experiments were carried out through L9 (3(4)) orthogonal design. The wetting results were compared by using different proportion of licorice juice and fructus evodiae.

RESULTThe optimal preparation process was as follows: the licorice roots were cutted into slices and 12 times of water was added. Then they were decocted for 1 h. The second and third decoction were also carried out by 12 times of water and 1 h. The proper proportion of licorice juice and fructus evodiae was 1:1.

CONCLUSIONThe preparation process is scientific and suitable to prepare the processing excipient.
