AIM: To study the expression of nucleostemin (NS) gene in human breast tumor tissues and the relations of NS gene expression level with histological grades, histological types and TNM stages of the tumor.METHODS: Total RNA was isolated from human breast tumor tissue. The methods of electrophoresis and RT-PCR were used in measuring NS gene expression level, and the relations of NS gene expression level with histological grades, histological types and TNM stages of the tumor were analyzed. RESULTS: The results indicated that there was no NS gene expression detected in normal breast tissues, and NS gene expression in malignant breast tumor tissues (P0.05). CONCLUSION: It is suggested that there is no relation of NS gene expression level with histological types of the breast cancer, but there is a marked correlation of NS gene expression level with the histological grades and TNM stages.

Objective To compare the treatment effects of minimally invasive exfoliation's point of varicose veins pump-stripping surgery and traditional treatment of varicose veins of lower extremity surgery.Methods 106 cases with lower extremity varicose veins were simple randomly divided into A,B groups.A team exfoliation new minimally invasive devices for minimally invasive varicose veins stripping point-pumping operation,B group is the traditional line of lower extremity venous stripping pump surgery,after the results of comparative assessment.Results Hemorrhage (15.3 ± 5.4) mL,operation time (58.9 ± 14.3) min,hospitalization time (4.8 ± 1.3) d and operation cost (5124.5 ± 524.7) yuan of group A were lower than those of group B [(65.4 ± 25.1) mL,(72.5 ± 18.6) min,(6.8 ±2.4) D and (6 179.6 ± 623.8) yuan] (P =0.023,0.035,0.019,0.027).Conclusion The minimally nvasive exfoliation's saphenous vein high ligation stripping point-pumping operation not only small wounds,easy to operate,and less post-operative complications and rapid recovery,and on the cost of hospitalization is superior to traditional surgery.

OBJECTIVE: To provide information for clinical rational and safe use of albendazole.METHODS: The medical database and network both at home and abroad were searched and the data regarding the research and development,the market information and indications of albendazole were analyzed.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: 5 dosage forms of albendazole are available in the market: tablets,capsules,granules,oral liquid,and syrup.The sales amount of albendazole in recent years dominated the first 3 places in domestic antiparasites market.There are a total of 39 domestic manufactures for albendazole,which can be used to treat 21 kinds of human parasitosis.Its clinical application is widespread.However,severe adverse drug reactions such as the rare encephalitis syndrome and allergic shock etc induced by albendazole pose hidden risks for treatment;therefore,management on its use should be strengthened.

Objective:To review literature reports of varieties of ADRs induced by mebendazole to provide a sci- entific foundation for clinical revaluation of mebendazole.Method:The related literatures in the internal and external medi- cine medical database in 1994-2004 were explored,and then both analysis and statistics were conducted with the methods of epidemiolngy and literature analysis.Result:ADRs induced by mebendazole could be involved in multiple organs.Most victims were children and the elderly.Their latent periods were determined by the types of ADRs,which had a variety of forms.Conclusion:Mebendazole was potentially unsafe.So we should strengthen our rational drug use and post-marketing revaluation of safety.

Textbook is the embodiment of teaching content and teaching method.Stereoscopic teaching materials construction is the key of making good education reform and increasing teaching quality and one of the most important constructions in medical colleges and universities.Taking the features of physiology into consideration,this paper elaborated the contents of stereoscopic teaching materials and discussed some advantage of teaching material construction.

Objective To observe the protein degredation of empty puparium cases ofC. megacephala after weathering and to explore its practical significance on postmortem interval estimation in forensic science. MethodsThe standardized feeding was used inC. megacephala, and the empty puparium cases were collected and put into the forest. They were taken back 5 days, and 10 days later, respectively. The spectra were collected and preprocessed, and then the absorption peaks of amides were read, and curve fitting was performed in the average spectra of each group. The statistical analysis was performed by SPSS 19.0.Results Compared to control group, ifve days post weathering, the position of amideⅠabsorption peak showed blue shift, but the amideⅡabsorption peak showed no shift, moreover, none of the amide absorption peaks showed changes inpeak intensity. For the secondary structures, α-helix decreased and β-sheet increased slightly, however, β-turn did not change; Ten days post weathering, the positions of both amideⅠandⅡabsorption peaks showed blue shift, and an obviousshoulder peak appeared in amide I absorption peak. Meanwhile, both of amideⅠandⅡabsorption peaks showed decreased in peak intensity. Moreover, for the secondary structures, α-helix and β-sheet showed the same tendency as in the 5th day group, except for the β-turn increased dramaticlly.Conclusion The spectra of the empty puparium cases of C. megacephala showed that the absorption peaks of amideⅠandⅡpresented certain characteristic features within ten days post weathering, and estimate relative long-time postmortem interval.

Objective To investigate the effect on proliferation and apoptosis by RNA interference to inhibit Nucleostemin(NS) gene expression in gastric carcinoma SGC-7901 cells.Methods The NS-siRNA expression vector was transfected into gastric-carcinoma cells with LipofectamineTM2000 reagent.Then we detected the cell proliferation inhibition ratio by MTT assay,the levels of NS gene expression in all groups by RT-PCR,cell cycle by flow cytometry,cell apoptosis ratio by Annexin-V-FITC/PI kit.Results Compared with that in the control group,cell proliferation in S group decreased;at 24,48 and 72 h the cell proliferation inhibition ratio was 53.21%,71.54% and 87.47%,respectively,the level of NS gene expression reduced in S group.G0/G1 phase cell was 58.34%,S phase cell was 20.68%,and the cell apoptosis was 26.85%.Conclusion RNA interference could substantially inhibit NS gene expression in gastric carcinoma SGC-7901 cells,decrease cell proliferation,arrest cell cycle and increase apoptosis ratio.

Objective To investigate the application value of modified early warning score (MEWS) for assessment of patients in pre hospital first aid.Methods For patients with MEWS method in 3 478 cases of pre hospital first aid,scored in 0-4,5-9 and ≥ 10 points.Analysis of the relationship between the distribution and severity in patients with different grades,and tracing the fate and the condition of patients after admission.Results In MEWS patients with low 0-4 points was divided into pre hospital first aid,accounted for 69.18％ (2 406/3 478),severe cases accounted for 2.58％ (62/2 406); MEWS 5-9 accounted for 21.54％ (749/3 478),severe patients increased to 37.92％ (284/749); MEWS ≥ 10 points accounted for only 9.29％ (323/3 478),severe patients increased to 87.00％ (281/323).MEWS scores higher ratio in patients with severe more,MEWS 5-9 points,severe patients with MEWS ≥ 10 points 0-4 critical patients proportion (P ＜ 0.01).MEWS 5-9 points,≥ 10 points patients admitted to a specialist ward and intensive care units treatment compared with MEWS 0-4 points patients increased significandy (P ＜ 0.01),the mortality rate was also significandy increased (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion The MEWS method in pre hospital first aid to early warning of potential in critically ill patients,the higher score,the more serious condition,the higher mortality rate.

Objective To detect the molecular characteristics of the serum samples of rats suffered from sudden unexpected death of acute myocardial ischemia (experimental group) and death caused by air embolism (control group) applied by ATR-FTIR, and to discuss the forensic signiifcance of identiifcation of causes of death by sudden unexpected death of acute myocardial ischemia by two-dimension infrared spectroscopy. Methods Adult male SD rats were randomly divided into SCD group and DCAE group. The serum samples were analyzed by ATR-FTIR. The similarity coefifcient of spectra between two groups was analyzed by OMNIC software. The spectra with higher signal-noise ratio were obtained and used to build two-dimension spectra model by Matlab 2010a software. Results The peak shapes, positions and intensities of the spectra were extremely similar between two groups, and the similarity coefifcient reached 99.78%. Meanwhile, the similarity coefifcient of second derivative spectra decreased to 98.62% between two groups. Moreover, on the two-dimension spectra model, the component differences were present at about 1 625cm-1, 1 550cm-1, 1 080cm-1 and 860cm-1, and the number of auto-peaks was different, which suggested that the evident differences were related to the molecular contents of protein, glycogen, nuclear acid, and so on. Conclusion It is hard to differentiate the molecular differences of serum samples of rats between SCD and DACE based on one-dimension spectra. However, two-dimension infrared spectra could intuitively and effectively relfect the molecular differences, and it would apply to determining the cause of death in forensic science.
