1.Chitosan/polylactic acid complex for repair of peripheral nerve defects
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(25):4059-4063
BACKGROUND:The mechanical strength of nerve conduits made by chitosan is poor and easy to col apse, which is not conducive to the nerve regeneration. OBJECTIVE:To explore the feasibility of chitosan/polylactic acid complex in the repair of peripheral nerve defects in rats. METHODS:Thirty Sprague-Dawley rats were enrol ed to establish models of unilateral sciatic nerve defects, and then randomly divided into three groups:autologous nerve, silicone catheter and chitosan/polylactic acid complex were used for defect repair in the three groups, respectively. At 12 weeks after operation, appearance of bridged nerves, surface adhesion, formation of neuroma were observed;nerve conduction velocity, action potential amplitude and latent period were determined;hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed to observe the number of regenerated axons and area of regenerated nerves;wet weight of the complete triceps surae was measured. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 12 weeks after repair, the regenerated nerves in the three groups al passed through the 5 mm nerve defect gaps, and neuroma only formed in the silicone catheter group. The diameter of regenerated nerves in the three groups was ranked as fol ows:autologous nerve group>chitosan/polylactic acid group>silicone catheter group (P<0.05). High-density regenerated axons neatly arranged in the autologous nerve and chitosan/polylactic acid groups, and the number of regenerated axons was higher than that in the silicone catheter group (P<0.05). Moreover, the nerve conduction velocity, action potential amplitude and wet weight of the complete triceps surae were significantly higher in the autologous nerve and chitosan/polylactic acid groups than in the silicone catheter group (P<0.05), but the latent period was lower than that in the silicone catheter group (P<0.05). These findings indicate that the chitosan/polylactic acid conduits can promote peripheral nerve regeneration.

Objective To investigate the differences of efficacy and economic efficiency between neuroendoscope and microscope for intracerebral hematomas cleaning operation. Methods From August 2014 to August 2015, clinical data of 68 cases with intracerebral hemorrhage were analyzed retrospectively. Hematoma evacuation was carried out by microscope in 37 cases (microscope group) received and 31 cases (endoscope group) underwent neuroendoscope. Following parameters were compared: the operation related index (hematoma clearance rate , intraoperative blood loss , the operation time , skin incision , bone window size ) , Glasgow Outcome Scale at 6 months after the operation, complications (intracranial infection, lung infections, gastrointestinal bleeding), medical economic parameters (the postoperative hospital stay, drug cost, cost other than drug, and total hospital cost). Results The hematoma clearance rate, Glasgow Outcome Scale at 6 months after the operation in the endoscope group were significantly better than those in the microscope group (P <0.05). The intraoperative blood loss, the operation time, skin incision, bone window size the postoperative hospital stay , drug costs , no drug costs , and total hospital cost in the neuroendoscope group were significantly lower than those in the microscope group (P < 0.01). The intracranial infection, lung infections in the neuroendoscope group were lower those in the microscope group (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in the incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding between the two groups (P > 0.05). The postoperative hospital stay, drug costs , no drug costs , and total hospital cost were significantly less in neuroendoscope group than that in microscope group (P< 0.01). Conclusion Neuroendoscopy has less trauma, there are some advantages of neuroendoscopy for intracerebral hematomas cleaning operation , such as minimal trauma , prominent effect , good prognosis and low cost. It should be widely applied in clinical practice.

Objective To investigate the applicable value of tissue synchronization imaging (TSI)by real-time thriplane echocardiography (RT3PE)in cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).Methods Twenty-four patients with heart failure scheduled for CRT and 24 healthy controls were enrolled. Two dimensional echocardiography was performed to get the left ventricular internal diameter at end-diastole and end-systole(LVIDd,LVIDs ),left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF ),velocity time integral of left ventricular outflow tract flow (VTILVOT ).The RT3PE TSI was performed to measure the time to peak systolic velocities(Tp)of left ventricle basal and middle segments(12 segments),software will automatically calculate the maximal difierence (12-Tp-DIF)and standard deviation (12-Tp-SD)of Tp in 12 segment. Identity the segment where wall motion most delay and to guide electrode placement.AV and VV interval optimization were performed under guidance of TSI after 1 month of CRT.Results In before CRT,after CRT,after optimization and control group,LVIDd,Tp,LVIDs,12-Tp-DIF and 12-Tp-SD were decreased in the order,LVEF and VTILVOT were increased in the order. There were significant difference between the groups(all P < 0.05 ).TSI showed that left ventricular systolic dyssynchrony was present in all patients before CRT.The most delay segment and electrode location was consistent. There were close correlation between 12-Tp-DIF and LVEF (r =-0.70,P =0.000),between 12-Tp-SD and LVEF(r =-0.73,P =0.000).Conclusions Left ventricular systolic synchronicity can be evaluated accurately and intuitively using TSI by RT3PE.It has important clinical significance in prospectively select patients for CRT,help to guide electrode placement and to optimize device programming.

A simple and rapid assay for the detection of Classical swine fever virus(CSFV)was established using reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification(RT-LAMP).This study describes the amplification of the genomic RNA of CSFV under isothermal conditions(63℃)within one hour, using a set of six primers(two outer primers, two inner primers and two loop primers). This RT-LAMP assay showed 100-fold higher sensitivity than the standard RT-PCR method and identified eighteen additional positive cases that were negative when tested by RT-PCR.This RT-LAMP was able to detect all the 13 strains of CSFV but not the BVDV.PRRSV.SIV.PRV-PCV,thus showed a good specificity.Products amplified by RT-LAMP can be visualized by agarose gel electrophoresis and in addition, either as a white precipitate at the bottom of the tube after a pulse spin or as a color change when dyed with SYBR Green I which are visible to the naked eye.Because RT-LAMP is low-cost and produces rapid results,it has the potential to be an excellent tool for CSFV surveillance in the field, especially in developing countries.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been infected rapidly and is generally susceptible to population. Moreover, it has become the most serious public health problem in the world. In the process of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) intervention has achieved positive efficacy and which is widely recognized. However, the COVID-19 epidemic is still very serious, especially due to the characteristics of asymptomatic infection such as concealment, limitations and subjective symptoms, which has increased the difficulty of prevention and control. In view of asymptomatic infection, isolation is the main management. There is little mention of specific treatment options in each version of COVID-19 treatment plan. Through systematic study of TCM theory, we explored the way of diagnosis and treatment of asymptomatic infections. Based on the theory of latent evil, clearing away latent pathogens to truncate the course of disease and reduce the incidence. Based on the theory of prevention of disease, strengthen the lung and stomach to protect the place from pathogen and prevent the transmission of disease evil. It is supplemented by accurate treatment according to individual, timing and local conditions, in order to provide reference for the treatment of asymptomatic infection.

Based on the noninvasive detection indeices and fuzzy mathematics method, this paper studied the noninvasive, convenient and economical cardiovascular health assessment system. The health evaluation index of cardiovascular function was built based on the internationally recognized risk factors of cardiovascular disease and the noninvasive detection index. The weight of 12 indexes was completed by the analytic hierarchy process, and the consistency test was passed. The membership function, evaluation matrix and evaluation model were built by fuzzy mathematics. The introducted methods enhanced the scientificity of the evaluation system. Through the Kappa consistency test, McNemer statistical results ( = 0.995 > 0.05) and Kappa values (Kappa = 0.616, < 0.001) suggest that the comprehensive evaluation results of model in this paper are relatively consistent with the clinical, which is of certain scientific significance for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases.
