AIM: To study the effects of alltride on experimental gastric ulcer and promoting bowl movement. METHODS: Applying experimental gastric ulcer models induced by alcohol and hydrochloric acid, ligating pylorus, indomethacin, acetic acid, calculated the index of gastric ulcer. Applying dry stool constipations in mice the first defecation time, moist dejection amounts were observed. In small intestinal propelling test in normal mice, small intestinal contents (charcoal Powder) propelling ratio was observed. RESULTS: Alltride reduced the index of ulcers in above experimental gastric ulcer model rats (P

Shenfukang is an effective formula for glomerulonephritis applied in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM. It is composed of Radix Folium seu Flos Tripterygii wilfordii, Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, Radix Notoginseng, Herba Leonuri, etc.. Glomerulonephritis rat model was induced by cationized bovine serum albumin (C-BSA) according to Border's method and was used to observe the pharmacological action of Shenfukang. The results showed that Shenfukang can eliminate urine protein, increase the levels of serum protein, albumin (A), globulin (G) and A/G ratio, and decrease the contents of serum cholesterol, creatinine and urea nitrogen. It can also counteract the increase of plasma TXB 2 and the decrease of plasma 6-keto-PGF 1? . LD 50 of Shenfukang for mice is 174.34?36.74?g/kg which is much larger than that of Tripterygium wilfordii (29.73?6.46?g/kg for female mice and 101.74?10.93?g/kg for male mice). It is indicated that Shenfukang exerts a protective effect on renal function and reduces toxicity of Tripterygium wilfordii.

Objective To investigate the sedative and hypnotic effects of Ganoderma lucidum brewage(GLB).Methods The NIH mice were given with gavage of GLB 0.06,0.12,and 0.24g/kg per day respectively for 15 days. The spontaneous motion, the sleeping time induced by pentobarbital sodium in subthreshold dosage and threshold dosage, and the number of mice subjected to pentylenetetrazol-induced convulsion were observed. Results GLB can reduce the spontaneous motion, significantly longthen the mice sleeping time of pentobarbital sodium in threshold dosage and increase the number of sleeping mice under subthreshold dosage of pentobarbital sodium.GLB was synergic with pentobarbital sodium, and antagonized pentylenetetrazol-induced convulsion in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion GLB possesses obvious sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsive effects.

[Objective] To observe the pharmacological action of Ganoderma Lucidum Brewage (GLB) in decreasing blood lipid. [ Methods ] Eighty rats were randimized into 8 groups: blank control (Group A), model ( Group B) high-dose GLB ( Group C), moderate-dose GLB ( Group D), low-dose GLB ( Group E), Ganoderma Lucidum Decoction (Group F), Ganoderma Lucidum Capsule (Group G) and Xuezhi Kang (Group H). So did the mice. Hyperlipidemia mouse models and rat models were induced by yolk and high-fat diet respectively. Effect of GBL in various doses to decrease blood lipid was observed in the two kinds of hyperlipidemia models and was compared with that of Xuezhi Kang, Ganoderma Lucidum Decoction and Ganoderma Lucidum Capsule. [Results] GLB could decrease the serum contents of triglycerides and cholesterol both in model mice and model rats (P

Objective: To study the action of Zhongjiangweiling Capsule (Fructus Amoni, Cortex cinnamoni, Rhizoma Alpiniae officinarum Radix Glycyrrhizae) on the experimental gastric ulcer. Methods: Area of ulcer, gastric juice volume, acidity and pepsin output were measured on experimental gastric ulcer models induced by the ligated pylorus and burned acetic acid and i.p Reserpine in rats. Results: Zhongjingweiling Capule showed to be able to reduce areas of ulcers, gastric juice volume, acidity and pepsin output. Conclusion: Zhongjingweiling Capsule had antiulcer effect in rats.

AIM: To study the effects of Zhongjingweiling Capsule (Fructus Amomi, Cortex Cinnamemi, Rhizoma Alpiniae Galangae, Fructus Foeniculi, Radix Glycyrrhizae, etc.) on analgesia, anti inflammation and gastrointestinal peristalsis inhibition. METHODS: The effect of analgesia was tested by the method of writhes and hot plate on mice. The effect of anti inflammation was tested by injecting acetic acid and implanting cotton pellet and xylene into mice. RESULT: Zhongjingweiling Capsule effectively inhibited the swelling of mouse pinna induced by xylene and the increase of peritoneal capillary permeability caused by the acetic acid injected into mice. The capsule also decreased the proliferation of granuloma caused by implantation cotton pellet significantly and had an abirritant effect on the algesia induced by acetic acid and hot plate. Besides, it effectively inhibited the gastrointestinal peristalsis. CONCLUSION: Zhongjingweiling Capsule is an effective medicine in anti inflammation, analgesia, and gastrointestinal peristalsis inhibition.

Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2004;0(06):-
[Objective] To observe the counteractive action of cyclovirobuxinum D (Cvb-D) for myocardial ischemia and to explore its possible mechanism. [Methods] Sixty SD rats were randomized into blank control group, Cvb-D groups in the dosage of 2.2, 1.1 and 0.55 mg? kg-1 ? d-1 respectively, isosorbide dinitrate group (25 mg? kg-1 ?d-1). The blank control group was treated with distilled water and the other groups were treated with the corresponding drugs by gavage according to the experimental design for 30 days. One hour after the last medication, pituitrin (1.5 U/kg) was injected into the caudal vein of the rats except the blank control to induce coronary artery spasticity myocardial ischemia. After that, electrocardiogram (ECG) was recorded, plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, malonyldialdehyde (MDA), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and phosphocreatine kinase ( CPK) levels were detected. [ Results ] The incidence of ischemic changes in ECG was decreased, plasma SOD activity increased and MDA, LDH and CPK levels lowered in Cvb-D groups as compared with those in the model group (P

Journal of the Korean Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry 2024;35(1):90-97
Objectives:
This study aimed to explore the influence of depression severity, disease course, treatment status, and other factors on cognitive function in adolescents with depressive disorders.
Methods:
Participants who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the study. Sociodemographic data of each participant were recorded, including age, sex, and family history of mental disorders. Zung’s Self-Rating Depression Scale was used to assess depression status in adolescents. Moreover, P300 and mismatch negativity (MMN) were used to objectively evaluate the participants’ cognitive function.
Results:
Only 26.8% of the adolescents with depression received standard antidepressant treatment. The latencies of N2 (267.80±23.34 ms), P3 (357.71±32.09 ms), and MMN (212.10±15.61 ms) in the adolescent depression group were longer than those in the healthy control group (p<0.01). Further analysis revealed that the latency of MMN was extended with increased levels of depression in adolescents. The MMN latency was short in participants with depression receiving standardized treatment. Furthermore, the latency of MMN was positively correlated with the severity and duration of depression (correlation coefficients were 0.465 and 0.479, respectively) (p<0.01).
Conclusion
Receiving standardized treatment and shortening the course of depression can reduce cognitive impairment in adolescents with depression.
