OBJECTIVE To investigate the procedures and advantages of whole range quality control of disposable sterile medical appliance. METHODS By analyzing the data concerning whole range quality control of disposable sterile medical appliance from Oct 2002 to Oct 2005 in our hospital to summarize the experiences in this field. RESULTS During the last 3 years, the supply room in our hospital had administrated disposable sterile medical appliance 30 069 000 articles altogether, with the qualification ratio of 100%, and no adverse reaction was found; furthermore, the waste was reduced for no massed articles occurred; the cost accounting was raised and the error ratio during delivery was reduced too, the annual error ratio dropped form 0.003% to 0.00066%. CONCLUSIONS The whole range quality control of disposable sterile medical appliance can raise the administration quality, reduce the waste during delivery, and guarantee the disposable sterile medical appliance being used safely and effectively, also, it can provide accurate and useful data of cost accounting to concerned departments.

Objective To explore frequency distribution of vitamin D receptor (VDR) genotype and the correlations between polymorphism of VDR gene Bsm Ⅰ sites and bone mineral density in the patients undergoing maintenance peritoneal dialysis. Methods A case-control study was conducted based on 82 patients with maintenance peritoneal dialysis and 80 healthy people. The frequency distribution of VDR genotype in two groups was detected and analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).Serum biochemistry and bone mineral density of the patients undergoing maintenance peritoneal dialysis were detected by dual energy X-ray absorption (DEXA) and automatic biochemical analyzer, respectively. All data was analyzed with SPSS 19.0 software. Results The frequency distribution of VDR genotype between case group and control group had no significant difference (P > 0.05).The serum biochemical index such as Ca,P,alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and parathyroid hormone (PTH)] of patients with maintenance peritoneal dialysis had no significant difference among three VDR genotypes(P >0.05).Compared to VDR bb genotype, the serum Ca was significantly higher in VDR BB genotype (P <0.05).The bone mineral density (BMD) and T-Score of patients with VDR BB genotype were the lowest, the BB genotype was the highest, and the difference was statistically significant among three genotypes (P <0.05).Conclusions The frequency distribution of VDR genotype between case group and control group had no significant difference. However, there is a correlation between VDR gene BsmⅠ sites and bone mineral density of maintenance peritoneal dialysis patients.

Objective To observe the relationship between vasoactive substances and blood pressure in old patients with hypertension.Method Venous blood was drawn from 35 old hypertension patients when blood pressure was normal and abnormal, respectively.Epinephrine(E),norepinephine(NE),endothelins(ET),angiotensin ll (Angll) and ealcitonin-gene-retated peptide were determined by radio-immunity.The above five cytokines were also determined in 33 old healthy people. The cytokines levels were compared between the normal and abnormal blood pressure in hypertension patients and also between the old hypertension patients and healthy persons. The correlation between blood pressure and cytokines were analyzed. Results The level of ET,Angll,E and NE were obviously increased in old hypertension patients when their blood pressure was abnormal, while CGRP obviously decreased. No difference was found in the five cytokines between two groups when the blood pressure were normal. The correlation analysis showed that systolic pressure had positive correlation with ET,AnglI and E(r=0.304,0.337,0.587,P=0.031,0.019,0.036)and negative correlation with CGRP(r=-0.416,P=0.028)in old hypertension patients when the blood pressure was abnormal. And the diastolic pressure had positive correlation with AnglI and E(r=0.357,0.333;P=0.039,0.028).ET had positive correlation with Angll and E(r=0.361,0.315;P=0.041,0.029).Conclusion The levels of vasoaetive substances significantly changed in old hypertension patients with the blood pressure change.Among those cytokines, the substances that contract blood vessel increased most obviously. The vasoactive substances played an important role in the progress of blood pressure rising.

BACKGROUND:Recent studies have shown that adipose-derivedmesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) not only have multilineage differentiation potential, but also exert an important role in blood sugar balance and hormone production.OBJECTIVE:To observe the differentiation potential of human ADMSCs (hADMSCs) into functional islet-like cells and the therapeutic effect of hADMSCs transplantation in diabetic rats.METHODS:PDX-1 gene was transfected into hADMSCs by adenovirus. Cell differentiation and insulin secretion were identified and detected by dithizone staining and ELISA, respectively. Twenty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control group (n=4), diabetes group (n=8) and transplantation group (n=8). Rats in the latter two groups were subjected to making diabetic models by 65 mg/kg streptozotocin injection. Afterwards, rats in the transplantation group were given PDX-1 transfected ADMSCs via the tail vein.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 15 days after transfection, the number of insulin positive cells and insulin secretion were both increased significantly (P < 0.05). Fasting glucose levels in the transplantation group decreased significantly (P < 0.05), while the body weight increased significantly (P < 0.05). In the diabetic group, the fasting glucose level still maintained at a high level, and the body weight of rats was significantly decreased. These results implicated that PDX-1 gene could induce hADMSCs differentiating into functional islet-like cells. PDX-1 transfected ADMSCs transplantation is effective in treating diabetic rats, but the mechanism needs further study.

The manifestation of clinical symptoms of cerebral small-vessel disease (SVD) is cognitive disorders. Its pathological changes are manifested as leukoaraiosis and/or lacunar infarction. However, it is not clear whether cognitive disorders caused by SVD is correlated with the severity of white matter damage. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy analysis can noninvasively detect metabolite concentrations of brain tissue in vivo and directly reflect cerebral metabolism; Diffusion-tensor imaging is a novel noninvasive technique for specific observation of white matter through different parameters such as mean diffusivity and anisotropy for quantitative evaluation of the abnormalities of fine structure of white matter. The combination of magnetic resonance spectroscopy analysis and diffusion-tensor imaging may more sensitively reveal the severity of white matter damage, and provide a research tool for cognitive disorders caused by SVD.resonance imaging

Protein-coding transcriptome, pseudogenes, long non-coding RNAs and circular RNAs can act as competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA).ceRNA can crosstalk with each other through microRNA recognition elements (MRE),thus regulating the post-transcriptional gene expression.More and more evidences showed that ceRNA could form an extensive network of post-transcription regulation, keep the cell homeostasis and involve in the disease development and progression like tumorigenesis and cancer progression.Depending on up-regulation or down-regulation of different kinds of microRNA in different cells,ceRNA acts as either an oncogene or a tumor suppressor.ceRNA may have a great potential in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
