Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2016;39(5):453-456
Objective To investigate the effects of different ventilations during the induction of anesthesia on postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoning laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods One hundred and twenty patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy were randomly divided into M group and V group according to random number table, 60 patients each group. The patients in M group performed manual ventilation and the patients in V group performed mechanical ventilation. According to different tidal volume, V group were randomly divided into three groups (20 patients each group:V1,V2 and V3 group, respectively recieved body weight × 4, 6 and 8 ml/kg. After tracheal intubation, the operations were completed by maintaining the end of CO2 partial pressure (PETCO2)from 35 to 45 mmHg, 1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa. Tidal volume, peak airway pressure (Ppeak) and PETCO2 in anesthesia induction, and intraoperative gastric insufflation and postoperative nausea and vomiting were recorded and compared. Results The incidence rate of gastric insufflation, postoperative nausea and vomiting in V group were significantly higher than those in M group:50.0%(30/60) vs. 21.7%(13/60), 45.0%(27/60) vs. 18.3%(11/60), 26.7%(16/60) vs. 10.0%(6/60), P<0.05. The level of Ppeak in M group, V2 group and V3 group were signicantly higher than that in V1 group: (13.55 ± 1.95), (12.05 ± 1.23), (18.35 ± 3.71) cmH2O vs. (13.55 ± 1.95) cmH2O, 1 cmH2O = 0.098 kPa, P<0.05. The level of PETCO2 in M group, V2 group and V3 group were signicantly lower than that in V1 group:(19.60 ± 4.31), (27.75 ± 1.94), (23.60 ± 4.45) mmHg vs. (29.90 ± 2.40) mmHg, P<0.05. Conclusions Manual ventilation during the induction of anesthesia in patients undergoning laparoscopic cholecystectomy is better than mechanical ventilation . Proper manual positive pressure ventilation and volume mechanical ventilation with low tidal (4 ml/kg) may allow for decreasing intraoperative gastric insufflation and postoperative nausea and vomiting.

Abstract
Vaccine-hypervariable poliovirus type Ⅲ was detected in an acute flaccid paralysis infant at age of 6 months in Zhejiang Province in June, 2021, and the isolated and incubated virus had six nucleotide variations in the VP1 region as compared to the poliovirus Sabin vaccine strain. The infant had a history of three-dose poliovirus vaccination, and grade 2 muscle strength of the left upper limb upon onset. He was clinically diagnosed with cellulitis of the left shoulder, and recovered to normal following treatment. No abnormality was detected in the nervous system, and the infant was cured and discharged from hospital. No vaccine-hypervariable poliovirus was detected in subsequent infant' clinical samples or in close contacts, and no similar cases were identified during the active case detection by county/district medical institutions and among community populations. Since the infant did not present poliomyelitis-related clinical symptoms caused by vaccine-hypervariable poliovirus, poliomyelitis was excluded. The vaccine-hypervariable poliovirus was not spread because of timely identification and effective responses, suggesting the urgent need to maintain the sensitivity of the acute flaccid paralysis surveillance system and improve the coverage of poliovirus vaccination, so as to inhibit the transmission of poliovirus.

International Journal of Pediatrics 2024;51(1):59-63
LINGO-1,a Nogo receptor-interacting protein-1 rich in leucine repeat sequences and immunoglobulin structural domains, which is specifically expressed in neurological diseases. In recent years, more and more evidences indicate that LINGO-1 plays an important role in glial scar formation, cell death and inflammatory reaction. LINGO-1 inhibits oligodendrocyte activation, and prevents axon and myelin formation and functional recovery, and is therefore considered to be a negative regulator of neuronal survival, neurite extension and axon myelination. The change of LINGO-1 level is related to the occurrence and development of many neurological diseases. This article reviews the physiological function of LINGO-1 and summarizes the latest research progress of LINGO-1 in multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, neonatal brain injury and epilepsy,so as to explore new strategies for the treatment of neurological diseases.

International Journal of Pediatrics 2024;51(2):99-102
Vasoinhibitory vasovagal syncope(VVS-VI)in children is the most common type of responses in vasovagal syncope(VVS)and has a high incidence. VVS-VI is a recurrent disorder caused by a malfunctioning autonomic nervous system. VVS-VI can be caused by a variety of stimuli such as strong emotions, sudden changes in posture, hot and stuffy environments and prolonged standing. It was found that VVS-VI is a benign disease without organic lesions and is self-limiting and reversible, but VVS-VI children often suffer irreversible consequences due to secondary injuries. VVS-VI seriously affects the life and academic performance of children, endangers their physical and mental health, and causes anxiety among parents,so the number of studies on VVS-VI has increased in recent years. This article summarizes the progress of diagnostic research on VVS-VI in children, and provides a reference for related research.
