Objective Developmental mandibular asymmetry is a common deformity in the human craniofacial skeleton and the treatment is not easy to get satisfactory results. A retrospective study was performed to investigate the clinical results and stability after treatment of developmental mandibular asymmetry by using combination of orthognathic surgery with orthodontics. Methods 58 cases of developmental mandibular asymmetry were treated by preoperative orthodontics-orthognathic surgery -postoperative orthodontics procedure. 82 times of operation, such as mandibular osteotomy, bimaxillary osteotomy, jaw plastic surgery, genioplasty, and distraction osteogenesis were performed according to different type of asymmetry. The facial appearance and occlusion relationship were evaluated with 1~4 years of follow-up. Results Satisfactory results were achieved in 53 cases (91.4 %). Primary satisfactory results were obtained in 4 cases (6.9 %). 1 case (1.7 %) with unsatisfactory result obtained aesthetic effect and ideal occlusion after operation again. Conclusions It is essential to use both of orthodontics and orthognathic surgery in order to ameliorate facial appearance, resume occlusal function, achieve good corrective result and prevent the recurrence of the developmental mandibular asymmetry.

OBJECTIVE:To excavate and evaluate the security alert signals of linezolid after marketing, and to provide refer-ence for rational drug use in clinic. METHODS:The reporting odds ratio(ROR)method was used to excavate the security alert signals from the adverse drug events(ADE)data in the OpenFDA platform of FDA during second quarter of 2004-2016. The low-er limit of 95%CI >1 was regarded as suggestive of ADE alert signal. RESULTS:A total of 6828534 reports were extracted, among which there were 7224 reports mainly induced by linezolid. Top 10 ADE reports were thrombocytopenia, drug interac-tion,thrombocytopenia,nausea,anaemia,serotonin syndrome, diarrhoea, pyrexia, drug ineffective, vomiting. After the detec-tion of top 200 ADE reports by ROR method,120 signals related to 18 system organ class(SOC)were identified. Top 5 ADE sig-nals in turn by SOC were medical examination, nervous system disorders, blood and lymphatic system disorders, metabolism and nutrition disorders, cardiac disorders. The high risk signals with clinical reference value included 42 cases of optic neuropathy (ROR=56.33),350 cases of serotonin syndrome(ROR=52.86),162 cases of lactic acidosis(ROR=18.30),31 cases of endo-carditis (ROR=15.38),566 cases of thrombocytopenia (ROR=14.29),122 cases of bone marrow failure (ROR=14.20),261 cases of panhematopenia (ROR=11.92),86 cases of disseminated intravascular coagulation (ROR=10.91),58 cases of toxic epidermal necrolysis(ROR=9.06),etc. As for ADE reports, male was slightly higher than female, and the patients in age group of ≥45 reported evidently more compared to younger age group. CONCLUSIONS:By detecting and evaluating alert signals of li-nezolid through OpenFDA platform,we could effectively lay the foundation for further research of pharmacovigilance.

Ex-vivo liver resection and liver autotransplantation offers a chance to cure extensive regional liver diseases which are otherwise deemed untreatable in selected cases. A 33-year-old male patient with advanced alveolar echinococcosis (AE) which invaded the right lobes and adjacent retrohepatic inferior vena cava, while the left lobes were free from lesion and had proliferated to over 1200 ml in size except for a 1 cm × 1 cm solid lesion in the segment Ⅳ. No extrahepatic metastases were found in this patient. A lesion with a size of 4300 ml and other small lesions in the right lobes were removed extracorporeally, and the retrohepatic vena cava was repaired, then the remaining AE-free left lobes (more than 700 ml in size) and the retrohepatic inferior vena cava were re-implanted in situ. A temporary end-to-end cavo-caval shunt with interposition of a blood vessel prosthesis and end-to-side portocaval shunt were established to keep the blood flow during the four-hour anhepatic phase. The patient was followed up for six months, and he had no signs of residual liver disease with good hepatic function.

Objective To develop a spatio-temporal model of mountainous Oncomelania hupensis snails based on the Bayes-ian model, and to analyze and identify the spatio-temporal pattern at a village scale. Methods The data including the intensity and spatial distribution of live and infected snails from 2000 to 2006 and the village boundary were collected. The independent and interactive spatio-temporal models were established, and then the best fitness model was selected to analyze the spatio-temporal pattern of live and infected snails. Results The interactive model of live snails and the independent model of infected snails were relative fitness models, and the models showed 95%CI(confidence interval)of the spatial and temporal coefficient included ze-ro,and indicated that the spatial and temporal correlation of live and infected snails was not significant at a village scale. Conclu-sion There is no significant spatial and temporal correlation of live and infected mountainous snails at a village scale, and the fur-thermore study should be carried out at a small scale.

Objective To study the features of liver damage caused by anti-TB medicines among patients with TB-HBV co-infection, in order to complement and improve the implementation of DOTs strategy in the region. Methods A historical cohort study was conducted including the process of reviewing and analyzing files of the 781 naive TB patients hospitalized from June 2004 to October 2005. Cases were divided into HBsAg (+) group and HBsAg (-) group. Results The overall damage rate among the 781 investigation cases was 20.74%, including 121 cases (74.69%) in HBsAg (+) group and 41 cases (25.31%) in HBsAg (-) group. Data showed that liver damage rate and average value of ALT and AST of HBsAg (+) group were higher than those in HBsAg (-) group. First case with liver damage in HBsAg (+) group happened on the 7th day of the treatment, while the first liver damage case happened in HBsAg (-) group was on the 16th day. The average onset in HBsAg (+) group was earlier than HBsAg (-) group for 18.09 days. The average time of liver function recovery in HBsAg (+) group was 57.02 days and in HBsAg (-) group it was 27.56 days while the appearance among HBsAg (+) group was 29.46 days later than in HBsAg (-) group. Conclusion The incidence rate of liver damage caused by anti-TB medicines was higher among HBV positive patients than those HBV negative patients. Patients co-infected with HBV infection appeared to be more serious, with higher incidence on liver damage and earlier onset, as well as with the degree of damage to the liver.
