Objective To observe the clinical characteristics of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients with hyperuricemia (HUA), and to understand the correlation between AS and HUA, so as to improve the understanding of AS patients with HUA. Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out in patients with the diagnosis with AS from November 2012 to August 2016. Patients were divided into two groups based on complicated with and without HUA. The clinical manifestations, inflammatory indicators, imaging manifest-ations, treatment and outcomes of the two groups were statistically analyzed, and the follow-up results of some patients with HUA were analyzed. The chi-square test was used for the counting data. The measurement data in line with the normal distribution were tested by t test, and the measurement data in non-normal distribution were tested by Mann-Whitney U test. Results Three hundred and sixty-two patients with AS were collected, consisting of 288 males (79.6%) and 74 females (20.4%), aged from 14 to 72 years, a course of disease was 3 months to 40 years. There were 87 cases (24.0%) with hyperuricemia, 77 cases were male (88.5%, 21.3%of all AS patients), and 10 were female (11.5%, 2.8% of all AS patients). Shorter morning stiffness time [(13 ±31) min and (22 ±48) min, Z=-2.231, P=0.026], lower IgM level [(1.4 ±1.3) g/L and (3.0 ±4.3) g/L, Z=-2.040, P=0.041], and lower erythrocyte sedimentation rate [(25±17) mm/1 h and (33±22) mm/1 h, t=-2.617, P=0.007] in the HUA group when compared with patients without HUA. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Four cases (4.6%) had gout arthritis in the group with HUA, all were male, blood uric acid level all>420 μmol/L. There were 7 cases (8.0%) of urolithiasis in the group with HUA, and 24 cases (8.7%) of urolithiasis in the group without HUA, but there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of urolithiasis between the two groups. None developed hypertensive disease, heart disease, nephropathy, or diabetis. Conclusion The incidence of hyperuricemia is high in AS, and with lower disease activity, and fewer complications.
3. Morphometric analysis of the infrazygomatic crest zone in 84 mini-implants using cone-beam CT
Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2018;53(1):8-12
Objective:
To investigate the soft and hard tissue morphology in the infrazygomatic crest zone by observing the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans in patients with mini-implants.
Methods:
CBCT scans of 43 patients performed from January 2014 to December 2016 in the Department of Stomatology, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, with 84 existing mini-implants in the infrazygomatic crest region were collected. The bone thickness and cortical bone thickness were measured in the palatal and buccal side of the mini-implant. The maxillary sinus membrane thickness, sinus septa, reverse fold, and the sinus opening angle were also determined and analyzed in the maxillary posterior region.
Results:
The bone thicknesses in the buccal and palatal side of the existing mini-implant were 2.5 (1.5, 3.2) and 5.2 (4.0, 6.4) mm, respectively. However, the corresponding cortical bone thicknesses were only 2.1 (1.3, 2.8) and 1.5 (1.0, 1.9) mm, respectively. The prevalences of the septa and the reverse fold were 33% (28/84) and 45% (38/84), respectively. The sinus opening angle was the largest in the mid-coronal plane of the maxillary first molar (71.6°±15.6°). In the coronal plane located at 10 mm mesially, the angle was the smallest (46.1°±18.0°), and in this area, 20% (16/82) of the angle was less than 30°.
Conclusions
The outer cortical plate of the infrazygomatic crest along with the cortical plate of sinus floor could be related to the initial stability of mini-implant anchorage. The anatomic variation such as the reverse fold indicated thorough consideration of insertion depth and angle to avoid unexpected sinus injury.

ObjectiveTo compare the effects of different feeding methods on plasma Ghrelin(a peptide hormone)level, growth and development of premature infants. Methods A total of 147 cases of very low birth weight newborn were randomly divided into nasogastric tube feeding group(group A, 38 cases), nasogastric tube feeding combined with non-nutritional sucking group(group B, 39 cases), nasogastric tube feeding combined with infantile touching group(group C,34 cases), nasogastric tube feeding combined with non-nutritional sucking and infantile touching group(group D,36 cases). Anthropometric indicators and plasma Ghrelin levels of premature infants before and after the feeding were compared among four groups. Results At 2 weeks post admission, the body weight of premature infants in four groups were(1503±206)g(group A),(1487±211)g(group B), (1494±228)g(group C), and(1615±242)g(group D). The differences between group D and other groups were statistically significant(t=2.004, 2.262, 2.061;P<0.05). At 4 weeks post admission, the plasma Ghrelin levels of premature infants in four groups were(38.3±7.4)μg/L(group A),(39.3±6.9)μg/L(group B),(35.7±6.6)μg/L(group C), and(34.5±9.1)μg/L(group D). The increases of plasma Ghrelin levels between group A and group C or D were statistically significant(t=2.65,5.20;P<0.05). Similar results were also observed between group B and group C or D(t=3.01, 5.79;P<0.05).Conclusions Nasogastric tube feeding combined with non-nutritional sucking and infantile touching is efficient in improving quality of life of very low birth weight newborns and saving medical cost.

Objective:To comprehensively understand the basic situation of critical care medicine in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in order to promote the standardization, specialization, and systematization of quality control in critical care medicine. Methods:A survey was conducted from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2021, using a questionnaire to investigate the human resources and basic allocation of comprehensive intensive care medicine departments in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps division level hospitals and surrounding second-class hospitals. The survey content includes: basic situation of medical units, intensive care unit (ICU) basic information, ICU personnel situation, ICU equipment configuration situation, ICU performance situation, etc. The survey questionnaire was distributed in March 2022, with dedicated ICU attending physicians or above designated by each ICU as the contact person for the survey. Results:Sixteen questionnaires were distributed and returned, all of which were included from 16 comprehensive intensive care medicine departments in the Corps and surrounding areas, including 5 second class first class hospitals and 11 third class first class hospitals. There were 196 beds in 16 ICU units, and the ICU bed ratio (1.99% overall, 1.77% in third class first class hospitals) was lower than the 2%-8% stipulated in the Guidelines for the Construction and Management of Critical Care Medicine (Trial) issued by the National Health Commission. Only ICU beds in second class first class hospitals accounted for 2.65%, meeting this standard. The comprehensive ICU doctor-bed ratio in 16 hospitals was 0.55∶1, third class first class hospitals was 0.60∶1, and second class first class hospitals was 0.44∶1, compared with 0.8∶1 stipulated in the ministerial guidelines, there was a certain gap. Among the 108 doctors in 16 ICUs, only four have a master's degree or above. Associate senior and above professional and technical titles accounted for 27.78%, less than one third. Among the 334 nursing staff, there were no personnel with a master's degree or above, and only 10 personnel with associate senior or above professional and technical titles. From 2019 to 2021, there was 1 new master's degree personnel, 2 new senior professional and technical personnel, and 12 deputy senior professional and technical personnel. It indicating that the proportion of highly educated and experienced physicians and nurses were lower, team building lags behind, talent introduction were lower, and highly educated talents were scarce. The statistical analysis results of the absolute growth of core technology showed that the growth of core technology was slow, the progressiveness was insufficient, and the professional technical ability was insufficient. Conclusions:The construction of critical care majors and talent echelons in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps region is lagging behind, the overall professional level of the discipline is not high, and there is a lack of specialized personnel. Further improvement is needed in talent cultivation, technical development and training, medical quality management, and other aspects to ensure medical quality and safety.

Objective:To establish the norm of the Chinese version of Karitane Parenting Confidence Scale (KPCS) in urban areas of China. Methods:From August to December 2017, the parents of 2 216 children (<36 months old) were selected from 15 cities (Beijing, Lianyungang, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Xi′an, Guangzhou, Changsha, Jinan, Guiyang, Ningbo, Dalian, Qinhuangdao, Maanshan, Chongqing and Wuhan) in 14 provinces by stratified random sampling. The general demographic characteristics and parents′ parenting confidence were collected by a self-made questionnaire and KPCS Chinese version. The percentile norm was established. P 3, P10 and P 25 were used as the criteria to define the degree of lack of parenting confidence. Results:The age of mothers was (30.67±4.29). The age of the father was (32.50±4.99) years old. There were 726 (32.76%), 759 (34.25%) and 731 (32.99%) infants in 6-12, 12-23 and 24-35 months old groups. The total scores of P 50, P 25, P 10 and P 3 of KPCS (Chinese version) of infant parents in urban areas in China were 41, 38, 33, and 29 respectively. When the scores of parents were 34-37, 30-33, and ≤ 29, they were judged as mild, moderate, and severe lack of parenting confidence. There was no significant difference in the Chinese version of KPCS between parents of different age groups and parents of different gender (χ2=3.53, P=0.171; χ2=1.41, P=0.236). Each factor score≤ P 3 is defined as the boundary score, and the corresponding boundary scores of "parenting" "support" and "competence" were 13, 9, and 5 respectively. Conclusion:The Chinese version of KPCS can be used to assess the parenting confidence of infants in urban areas of China. It can used as one of the bases for scientific and objective evaluation of the parenting status of families.

Objective:To construct a novel respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine based on a recombinant influenza virus vector and evaluate its immune protective effects in mice. Methods:A recombinant H1N1 influenza A virus (IAV) expressing the extracellular domain (Gecto) of RSV A2 G protein was constructed and rescued, named as PR8NAGecto/WSN. After in vitro verification of the Gecto expression and PR8NAGecto/WSN growth kinetics, a single dose of PR8NAGecto/WSN was used to immunize BALB/c mice through intranasal administration to evaluate the efficacy of PR8NAGecto/WSN by assessing humoral (IgG, neutralizing antibody), mucosal (IgA) and cellular immunity (IFN-γ ELISPOT). Four weeks after immunization, the mice were challenged with RSV A2 or RSV B9320 to evaluate the protective effects of PR8NAGecto/WSN by analyzing mouse body weight changes, lung tissue virus titers and pathological changes. Results:A single-dose intranasal immunization with PR8NAGecto/WSN induced robust humoral, mucosal and cellular immunity in mice. Moreover, the mice in the immunized group had lower lung virus loads and mild lung pathological damages following the challenge with RSV A or RSV B subtype as compared with the control group. Conclusions:A single-dose intranasal immunization with PR8NAGecto/WSN induces robust immunity and provide protection against RSV A and B challenges in mice. This study provides new ideas and reference for the development of novel mucosal vaccines against RSV.
