0.05);the cure rates were 55.77%,36.54% and 88.46%,re-spectively;the recurrence rates were 11.54%,25.00% and 1.92%,respectively.CONCLUSION:Scheme A is the preferable one economically,however,taking all the factors into consideration,scheme C is the best one.

Objective:Investigate the awareness of their own rights and the safeguarding of the rights in practice,raise the patients' sense of safeguarding of the rights and help them defend the legal rights.Methods:A survey was taken among patients by applying the questionnaire.Results:There are 5 items about the patients' knowledge about their own rights and 3 items about defending their rights in practice,in which more than 85 percent of 111 patients chose the answer "always or almost".From this we can see that the awareness and safeguarding of their rights are not good enough.Conclusion: The government is appealed to break up the existence of the monopoly mold in medical treatment and to take measures to protect the rights of patients.The medical personnel should renew their concepts,pay more attention to publicizing and defending patients' rights,and help patients realize their rights.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the general rule on checking and acceptance of drug warehousing of prepared slices of Chinese crude drugs.METHODS:The warehousing acceptance data of prepared slices of Chinese crude drugs during 2003-2007 in our hospital were sorted and the reasons for drug acceptance rejection were analyzed.RESULTS:Of the 5 228 batches of prepared slices of Chinese crude drugs checked before acceptance over 5 years,138(2.61%) were unacceptable.Most of the rejected batches were prepared processing slices of Chinese crude drugs.There were more than 30 factors resulted in the rejection.CONCLUSION:The key to ensure the quality of prepared slices of Chinese crude drugs is to improve their processing level.

In order to study the status of cell apoptosis in psoriatic epidermis, we have investigated the changes of the lesions in various stages in patients with psoriasis vulgaris by using terminal deoxynueleotidyl transferase-mediation dUTP-biotin nick end labelling (TUNEL). The results showed that the highest frequency of apoptotic keratinocytes was observed in the early scaling papular lesions, and the frequency was reduced in the progressive maculo-papular lesions and the coalescent plaques successively. The frequency of hyperproliferation of epidermis was in the reverse order in comparison with the above results. These results suggest that increased apoptosis of keratinocytes is the initial change of psoriatic epidermis, then hyperproliferation of keratinoeytes follows.

Objective To compare curative effect of tibiofibular fractures treated by external fixation device and interlocking intramedullary nail.Methods A total of 121 patients with tibiofibular fractures were included in the study and were divided into external fixator group (56 patients) and interlocking intramedullary nail group (65 patients),according to diverse surgical approaches.The two groups were compared in indices of postoperative good-excellent rate,intraoperative blood loss,operation time,subsided time of postoperative swelling,hospital stay,fracture healing time,time of fixation removal and incidence of postoperative complications.Results The postoperative excellence rate in external fixator group and interlocking intramedullary nail group was 88％ and 89％,respectively (P ＞ 0.05).Compared with interlocking intramedullary nail group,the intraoperative blood loss was reduced more in external fixator group,with more evidently shortened operation time,subsided time of postoperative swelling and hospital stay (P ＜ 0.01).Fracture healing time and time of fixation removal,however,were significantly shorter in the interlocking intramedullary nail group than those in the external fixator group (P ＜ 0.01).Incidence of postoperative complications was 11％ in the external fixator group and 28％ in the interlocking intramedullary nail group (P ＜0.05).Conclusions External fixation device and interlocking intramedullary nail are both effective in treatment of tibial and fibular fractures.External fixation device with less damage to tissue is relatively more helpful to postoperative recovery.On the contrary,the interlocking intramedullary nail is relatively more conducive to fracture healing.

Objective To establish a rat model of bone cancer pain by intra-tibia inoculation of Walker 256 mammary gland carcinoma cells. Methods Sixty female Wistar rots weighing 180-200 g were randomly divided into 4 groups (a=15each):groupⅠ normal control; group Ⅱsham operation; group Ⅲtumor cell inoculation + normal saline (NS) and group Ⅳtumor cell inoculation + flurbiprofen. NS 0.2 nd and flurbiprofen 10 mg/kg in 0.2 ml were injected IV at 2 h before determination of pain threshold on 14 and 17 d after inoculation oftumor cells in groupⅢand Ⅳ respectively. On day 0, 4, 7, 10, 14, 17 and 21 after inoculation pain threshold was measured after determination of body weight. X-ray examination of the tibia was performed on day 14 after inoculation. The animals were killed on day 21 after inoculation for microscopic examination of the inoculated tibia. Results The animals started losing weight and the threshold to yon Frey hair stimulation was decreased from dhy 10 after inoculation in group Ⅲand Ⅳ. X-ray examination showed destruction of bone and microscopic examination showed tumor growing in tibia. Flurbiprofen significantly decreased mechanical hyperalgesia in group Ⅳ. There was no significant difference in paw withdrawal latoney to radiant heat among the 4 groups. Conclusion A model of bone cancer pain can be made by inoculation of Walker 256 mammary gland carcinoma cells into tibia characterized by mechanical hyperalgesia.

Objective:To clarify whether the signal peptide of human nerve growth factor can mediate secretory expression of beta-endorphin and whether there is difference between the efficiency of signal peptides from human and mouse nerve growth factor.Methods: Two kinds of eukaryotic vectors containing human or mouse signal sequence-mediated secretory expression of beta-endorphin were constructed.The culture supernatant and cells were collected 48 h after NIH3T3 cells were transfected by the two kinds of vectors,and the cover slips with single-layer cells was prepared.The concentration of beta-endorphin in the culture was determined by radio-immunoassay.The total RNA was extracted from cells and mRNA from fusion genes was assayed by RT-PCR.Cells on cover slips were subjected to immunofluorescence staining.Results: RT-PCR showed that the fusion genes were expressed in NIH3T3 cells;the expression of beta-endorphin was mainly in the cytoplasm of NIH3T3 cells.The concentrations of beta-endorphin in the supernatants 48 h after transfection with pcDNA3.1-hEP and pcDNA3.1-mEP were(280.33?24.16) pg/ml and(191.04?7.96) pg/ml(P

AIM: To study the effect of L-arginine (L-Arg) on function and structure of mitochondria in ischemia-reperfusion (MRI) myocardial cells. METHODS: Thirty rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (n=10 in each), control group, MIR group and MIR+L-Arg group. The mitochondrial respiratory function, Ca~(2+) concentration ([Ca~(2+)]m), malondialdehyde (MDA) content and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were determined. Meanwhile, the contents of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine diphosphate (ADP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP), total adenylic acid number (TAN) and energy charge (EC) in the myocardial tissue were respectively measured. Moreover, the ultrastructure changes in myocardial mitochondria were observed during MIR. RESULTS: The mitochondrial respiratory control rate (RCR), velocity 3 (V_3), SOD, surface density (Sv) and specific surface (?) in MIR+L-Arg group were higher than those in MIR group, velocity 4 (V_4), [Ca~(2+)]m, MDA, volume density (Vv), horizental diameter (Hd) were lower than those in MIR group. ATP, ADP, TAN and EC levels of myocardial tissue were higher than those in MIR group. There was no significant difference between MIR+L-Arg and control group in V_3, V_4, SOD, MDA, Vv, Sv, ?, Nv, Vd, AMP and TNA. CONCLUSION: It is suggested that L-Arg improves the function and structure of mitochondria in myocardial cells in the reperfusion injury after myocardial ischemia by decreasing oxygen free radical level and Ca~(2+) overload in the mitochondria. Objective To investigate the Demodex infection status and influencing factors in medical students in Wuhu City. Methods The mite specimens were collected by the cellophane tape method,and the influencing factors were investigated through the questionnaires. Results A total of 316 medical students were surveyed,117 students were infected with Demodex mite,and the total infection rate was 37.03%. There was no significant difference between the male and female in the infection rate( χ2 = 0.00,P > 0.05). Of the 117 infected cases,the infection rate of simple Demodex folliculorum was 51.28%,the infec-tion rate of simple Demodex brevis was 24.79%,and the rate of mixed infections was 23.93%. The rate of the mild infection (83.76%)was significantly higher than that of the moderate infection(12.82 %)and that of the severe infection(3.42%). The infection rate in the forehead was the highest(29.41%). Among the students with the oily skin,the infection rate of Demodex mite was related to sex. The infection rate of simple Demodex brevis in the male(3.70%)was lower than that in the female (16.42%)( χ2 = 6.92,P < 0.05),while the rate of the mixed infections in the male(17.28%)was higher than that in the fe-male(4.48%)( χ2 = 5.91,P < 0.05). The infection rate of facial skin with symptoms(51.80%)was higher than that of normal facial skin(33.05%)( χ2 = 9.14,P < 0.01). There was no significant difference between the infection rate of Demodex mite and the living habits and other factors. Conclusions There is some infection of Demodex in the medical students. The infection rate of facial skin with symptoms is higher than that of the normal facial skin. So we should strengthen the prevention and treat-ment of Demodex infection in medical students.

Objective To explore the possible mechanism of Jianyi Recipe for improving the function of islet cells from the aspects of synthesis,secretion and inactivation of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).Methods The diabetic rat model was established by feeding with high-lipid food combined with injection of streptozotocin (STZ).The rats were randomly divided into model group,Jianyi Recipe group,and normal group.The treatment for the rats lasted for 4 weeks.The blood glucose level was detected by the rapid blood glucose meter.The plasma levels of GLP-1 and insulin were detected by Luminex liquid phase protein chip technology.Pancreatic duodenal homeobox-1 (PDX-1) mRNA expression level was detected by quantitative real-time fluorescence polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The level of GLP-1 in ileum L cells was detected by immunohistochemistry,and dipeptidyl peptidase Ⅳ (DPP-Ⅳ)level was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results Jianyi Recipe could decrease the levels of fasting blood glucose and postprandial glucose (P ＜ 0.05),promote the secretion of insulin (P ＜ 0.05),and increase PDX-1 mRNA expression level in the pancreas of the diabetic rats.Compared with the model group,plasma GLP-1 level,and ileal GLP-1 positive expression area and integrated optical density were increased (P ＜ 0.05) in Jianyi Recipe group,while the differences of serum DPP-Ⅳ levels were insignificant between the two groups (P＞ 0.05).Conclusion Jianyi Recipe maybe regulate the synthesis and secretion of GLP-1 to promote PDX-1 gene expression and insulin secretion,so as to reduce blood glucose in diabetic rats.
