Objective To study the correlation between genetic polymorphisms of interleukin (IL)-1A/1B and susceptibility to tuberculosis (TB).Methods Genetic polymorphisms of IL-1A and IL1 B in 1032 TB patients and 1008 non-TB patients were analyzed using PCR-MassARRAY method. The correlation between genetic polymorphisms of IL-1A/1B and susceptibility to TB was statistically analyzed. Results Two tag SNPs of IL-1A and three tag SNPs of IL-1B were screened for the study. There were differences in the allele frequencies of rs2853550 and rs3783526 between TB group and non-TB group (P=0.047and P =0.034,respectively).IL-1 B SNP1 rs2853550 (P =0.025,OR =1.302,95 % CI =1.034-1.640,TC vs.CC) was found to be highly associated with TB,while the other SNPs showed no significant correlations with TB.Furthermore,IL-1B SNP1 rs2853550 [P=0.019,OR=1.308,95% CI=1.045-1.638 for (TC+TT) vs.CC] in the dominant model conferred significant risk for TB,but IL-1A SNP2 rs3783526 [P=0.000,OR=0.764,95% CI =0.591-0.988 for GG vs.(AA+GA)] in the recessive model showed protective effects against TB.The haplotype ‘TG’ in the IL-1B block showed a higher risk for TB compared with the common ‘ CA’ haplotype (P=0.032,OR=1.265,95% CI=1.020-1.567).The diplotypes containing ‘ GA’ haplotype in IL-1A block and ‘ TG’ haplotype in IL-1B block were major risk factors for TB (for onecopy, adjusted P=0.014,OR=1.403 and 95% CI=1.072-1.836; adjusted P=0.013,OR=1.339 and 95% CI=1.063-1.688,respectively),but the diplotype with ‘CG’ in IL-1B block played a protective effect against TB (for two-copy,P=0.006,OR=0.664 and95% CI=0.494-0.891).Conclusion The genetic polymorphisms of IL-1B rs2853550 might be closely associated with TB,but the GG genotype of IL1 A SNP rs3783526 might have the characteristic of anti-TB.

One new sesquiterpene was isolated from the fermentation broth of Streptomyces sp. and the structure was elucidated by spectral analysis as caryolane-1, 6beta-diol (1). An intermediate 1alpha, 6beta, 11-eudesmanetriol (2) in the biosynthesis of geosmin was also found in this strain which proved sequence for the reactions, especially bicyclization preceding dealkylation.

Objective To investigate outcome and prognosis of isolated mild fetal ventriculomegaly (IMV) of fetus in uterus. Methods From Jan. 2006 to Dec. 2009, 18 200 singleton pregnancy women from 20 weeks gestation underwent prenatal ultrasonography examination in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College. One hundred and forty-eight women with IMV (transverse diameter of the atrium of the lateral ventricle measuring between 10 and 15 mm with no other abnormalities) were studied prospectively, which were divided into two groups: 99 women with transverse diameter of the lateral ventricle of 10 - 11 mm in group A and 49 women with transverse diameter lateral ventricle of 12 - 15 mm in group B. The changes of ventriculomegaly and the associated intracranial and extracranial anomalies were observed regularly every 2 or 4 weeks until delivery. The development of neurological system was also followed up. Results ( 1 ) The overall incidence of IMV was 0. 08% (148/18 200). The rate of bilateral ventriculomegaly were 20% (20/99) in group A and 51% (25/49) in group B, which reached statistical difference (P< 0. 05). (2) Prognosis of fetus: 139 cases with 2 or more ultrasonographic examinations, IMV resolved throughout pregnancy in 41. 7% (58/139) ,regressed in 7. 9% (11/139) ,remained stable in 36. 7% (51/139)and progressed in 13. 7% ( 19/139). Five cases in group A and 11 cases in group B present progress, which reached significantly difference (P < 0. 05). (3) One hundred and eleven cases infant were followed up for 5-12 months, the rate of psycho-motor developmental delay was 5. 4% (6/111). The rate of neuro-developmental delay in progressed group (3/15) was higher than 2. 5% ( 1/40) in resolved group, 0 (0/8) in regressed group and 4. 2% (2/48) in remained stable group, which reached significantly difference (P<0. 05). Conclusions About 85% of cases of IMV resolved, regressed or remained stable in utero would exhibited good prognosis. IMV with a transverse atrial size ≥ 12 mm or progression in utero was usually associated with a poor prognosis, which should be observed carefully.

Objective:To study the tonifying Qi and producing blood mechanism of Jianpi Shengxue tablets. Methods: SD rats were randomly divided into the normal group,FeSO4group, and low, medium and high dosage groups(0.65,1.3,2.6 g·kg-1). All the groups except the normal group received low iron diet,to induce anemia. After the two-week intragastric administration, real-time PCR was carried out to identify the changes of Hepcidin mRNA expression, while western blot was applied to test the changes of DMT-1 protein expression. Results:The medium and high dosage groups could significantly increase the DMT-1 expression compared with the normal group, while FeSO4 could reduced the DMT-1 expression. The Hepcidin expression in liver was increased along with the in-crease of the dosage. Conclusion:The Chinese medicine ingredients in Jianpi Shengxue tablets is beneficial to the expression of DMT-1 protein and the expression of Hepcidin mRNA in liver, which can finally improve the iron supply in the body.
6.Neonatal purulent meningitis due to Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis infection: a case report
Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2020;23(4):260-261
We reported the diagnosis and treatment of one neonate with purulent meningitis caused by Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis infection. The eighteen-day-old girl was admitted due to fever lasting for seven hours and was diagnosed as neonatal purulent meningitis based on laboratory tests, including the routine blood test, hypersensitive C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, cerebrospinal fluid examination, and blood culture. The patient recovered and was discharged after a four-week comprehensive treatment, including antibiotics, sedatives, lowering intracranial pressure and rehydration and fluid replacement. During the follow-up of one month after discharge, the girl showed normal growth and development without any abnormality in cranial MRI or hearing. This case suggested that Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis infection has a quick onset with serious conditions and rapid progress.

Neurogenic bowel dysfunction is one of the common complications after spinal cord injury. Long-term constipation and fecal incontinence can cause great troubles in the daily life of patients and seriously affect their quality of life. The key to the solution is effective intestinal intervention, including the establishment of defecation patterns, dietary interventions, and drug interventions, enema, electromagnetic stimulation, and enterostomy, etc. At the same time, a personalized bowel management plan is formulated based on the specific conditions of the patient to better manage the bowel and improve the patient′s quality of life.
