Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2014;(5):692-693,697
82 spastic cerebral palsy and normal children were selected, including 27 younger and 27 older spastic cerebral palsy( observation group) ,and 14 younger and older normal children( control group) . The tumor necrosis factor α( TNF-α) levels were measured in the serum with ELISA. The TNF-α levels in the serum of the younger and older spastic CP groups were higher than those of the control groups ( P<0.01 ) . In observation groups, the TNF-α levels of younger spastic cerebral palsy were higher than those of the older (P<0.01). On the contrary, the normal children in the control group of different ages had no difference of TNF-α. TNF-αexpression was signifi-cantly higher in the serum of the spastic CP group than that in the control group ( P<0.01 ) . TNF-α expressed continuously in vivo of children with spastic cerebral palsy involve subsequent brain injury.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(39):6345-6349
BACKGROUND:Internal fixation is commonly used in an early stage of intertrochanteric fractures of the aged worldwide, and can apparently reduce complications and fatality rate. The commonly used internal fixators contain proximal femoral nail anti-rotation and dynamic hip screw, whose comparison is current research hotspot.
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the hip function and stability after internal fixation with proximal femoral nail anti-rotation and dynamic hip screw in repair of intertrochanteric fractures of the aged.
METHODS:A total of 64 aged patients with intertrochanteric fractures were enroled in this study, and assigned to dynamic hip screw group (n=30) and proximal femoral nail anti-rotation group (n=34). The fracture reduction and healing were evaluated using anterioposterior and lateral X-ray films. Operation time, intraoperative blood loss, complication rate, healing time and postoperative hip function were compared and analyzed between the two groups, and then assessed in accordance with Sander’s scoring system.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with dynamic hip screw group, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, healing time and complication rate after treating unstable intertrochanteric fracture (Tronzo-Evans III, IV and V types) showed significant advantages in the proximal femoral nail anti-rotation group (P < 0.05). Hip function restored better, and the complication rate of stable intertrochanteric fracture (Tronzo-Evans I and II types) was lower after treatment in both groups (P > 0.05). These data show that the effects of proximal femoral nail anti-rotation were better than that of dynamic hip screw for treatment of intertrochanteric fractures, and hip function recovered better. Moreover, proximal femoral nail anti-rotation had biomechanical stability, especialy for unstable fracture.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
The diameters and projection area of the articular surfaces, contributed to the formation of the sacroiliac joint, were determined on 50 sets of pelvic bones with image analysing apparatus.By drawing a line connecting the most anterior point of the prominence to the deepest point of the posterior incisure, the articular surface may be divided into a superior and an inferior portions. The inferior portion was larger than the superior portion. Each portion of the articular surface on the ilium is slightly larger than that on the sacrum. In order to explore the relationship between the form of the articular surface and its function in transmitting the gravity of the human body, the stress of the neighbouring area near the anterior margin of the articular surface was determined. Moreover, the bony architecture on the cross section passing through the articular surface was observed. It suggests that the strain in the neighbouring area was in linear equation with the gravity loaded on the spinal column. The strongest stress was determined at the anterior margin of the anterior prominence and the thickness of the cortex lying on the relevant bones appears most obvious at the same sites. These results further improve that the bony architecture was consistent with the strain in bearing the body weight. Besides, the form of the articular surface was also adapted to its function.

Objective:To evaluate effect of different induction chemotherapy on the clinical efficacy of concurrent intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and chemotherapy and identify the prognostic factors in non-endemic locally-advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. Methods:Clinical data of 210 patients with stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ B(excluding stage T 3-4N 0M 0) nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated in our hospital from 2012 to 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the efficacy of different induction chemotherapy, all patients were divided into the effective group (14 cases of complete remission and 165 cases of partial remission) and ineffective group (31 cases of stability and 0 case of progression). Survival analysis was performed by Kaplan- Meier method. Multivariate analysis was conducted by using Cox′s regression model. Results:Compared with the ineffective group, the 3-year overall survival (OS)(89.2% vs. 74.2%, P=0.005), recurrence-free survival (RFS)(93.0% vs. 81.9%, P=0.010) and progression-free survival (PFS)(80.2% vs. 58.1%, P=0.005) were significantly higher in the effective group, whereas the distant metastasis-free survival did not significantly differ between two groups (84.1% vs.69.7%, P=0.070). Multivariate analysis showed that the tumor response to induction chemotherapy was an independent prognostic factor for OS, RFS and PFS. Conclusions:Tumor response to induction chemotherapy might be a prognostic factor for non-endemic locally-advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. Clinical prognosis of patients with poor response to induction chemotherapy is even worse. More intensive treatment and closer follow-up may be needed for these patients.

AIM: To determine the effect of heat treatment on rat primary cultured neurons, and give fundamental research for candidate molecule to protect the neurons from heat injury. METHODS: Neurons from rat striatum were primary cultivated in D-MEM with 15% horse serum, and when got mature, cells were identified by immuno-cytochemical staining with neurofilament protein (NF), tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and neuron specific enolase (NSE) antibodies. Cells in heat treatment groups were put in an 43 ℃ CO 2 incubator for 1 h, and the control groups at 37 ℃ as normal. Striatum neurons were stained with trypan blue and dual fluorscence dye (PI/H33258) immediately followed heat treatment, and necrosis rate of neurons was estimated. At the same time, activated caspase-3 immuno-cytochemical and TdT TUNEL methods were applied to determine apoptosis rate, and cell volume was also identified with micro-photography. RESULTS: During day 7 to day 9, the cultured striatum neurons got mature, and many neuronal fibers starched out and formed neuron network, NF, TH, and NSE staining positive. Treatment at 43 ℃ for 1 h, cell number decreased greatly, while NF+ percentage kept unchanged, and the heat treatment survived neurons were processing cell necrosis and apoptosis, but necrosis percentage was much greater than that of apoptosis. While cell volume kept unchanged after heat treatment. CONCLUSION: Heat treatment greatly affects the growth and survival of the cultured striatum neurons, and the injury effect is most due to cell necrosis process.
