Objective BALB/C mice were inoculated subcutaneously with hepatoma 22 (H22) cells, and the treatment effect of thalidomide and intratumor injection of ethanol extract of Scutellaria Barbata (SB) on tumor growth were evaluated. Methods In vitro, mouse H22 liver cells were cultivated, and H22 cells in the logarithmic growth phase were tested. SB was extracted in the ethanol recirculation. A total of 28 BALB/C male mice inoculated subcutaneously with H22 cells were randomly divided into 4 groups, 7 mice per group. Group A:intragastric administration with thalidomide. Group B:SB intratumor injection. Group C:combination of thalidomide and SB with the same administration as Group A and Group B. Group D (control group):1% Ethanol 0.2~0.5 mL intratumor injection. Tumor volumes of four groups were observed and the tumors were weighed. The microvessel densities (MVD) of all transplantation tumors were measured by immunohistochemical staining with anti-CD31 monoclonal antibody. Results There were statistically significant differences between Group C and Group A (P 0.05). The studies showed statistically differences between Group C and Group A (P

This article discusses the three-dimensional ambulance under the future war conditions. The unexpectedness of battlefields and complexity of the wounded in the future warfare necessitate the establishment of a three-dimensional system of medical rescue that can be organized by land, water and air. With an analysis of the features of modern war and based on the theory of modern treatment, the authors have proposed the requirements for designing the mode of three-dimensional rescue in the war zone and its typical procedures, set forth the view that rapid reaction and three-dimensional rescue are the most effective medical guarantee of combat strength, and provided a scientific basis for building a medical rescue system in the future warfare.

Object To study the separation effect of three macoroporous resins for lycopene and ? carotene, in order to optimize the suitable one. Methods The performances of adsorption and desorption for lycopene and ? carotene with three macroporous resins D4020, X 5 and AB 8 were compared, and adsorption dynamics process of resins was studied. Results The adsorptive capacities of X 5 resin for lycopene and ? carotene are the most, they are 7 44 and 11 2 mg/g, respectively. Desorption ratio of X 5 resin is the highest. Conclusion X 5 resin is an ideal adsorbent for lycopene and ? carotene extraction.

Objective To study the genetic variation of two mitochondrial DNA molecules (CO1 and Cytb gene) of Oncomelania hupensis isolated from different areas. Methods Snails were collected from Jingxi of Guangxi,Yueyang of Hunan and Eryuan of Yunnan. Genomic DNA was extracted from the snails,Co1 and Cytb gene fragments were amplified by PCR,then purified and sequenced. Sequences of each isolates were edited by using Clustal W(1.82) software, and the nucleotide composition, transition and transversion were accounted by using MEGA(3.1) software. The genetic distances were computed with Kimura method and phylogenetic trees were constructed with UPGMA and MP method respectively. Results CO1 and Cytb gene fragments were about 700 bp and 600 bp(including 2 primers) respectively. A total of 106 mutation spots (15.9%) were tested in CO1 homological nucleotides, and 165 mutation spots (28.5%) were tested in Cytb homological nucleotides. The distance matrix between Guangxi isolate and Hunan isolate was 0.051 and 0.031 for CO1 gene and Cytb gene respectively;while that between Guangxi and Yunnan isolates was 0.158 and 0.405 respectively. Phylogenetic trees constructed by UPGMA and MP took on the similar topo-structure:isolates of Guangxi and Hunan clustered into one group, while the Yunnan isolate exhibited as another group. Conclusion Oncomelania hupensis in Guangxi,Hunan and Yunnan are of relatively rich polymorphism in CO1 and Cytb genes in general.

Construction of artificial cell factory to produce specific compounds of interest needs wild strain to be genetically engineered. In recent years, with the reconstruction of many genome-scale metabolic networks, a number of methods have been proposed based on metabolic network analysis for predicting genetic modification targets that lead to overproduction of compounds of interest. These approaches use constraints of stoichiometry and reaction reversibility in genome-scale models of metabolism and adopt different mathematical algorithms to predict modification targets, and thus can discover new targets that are difficult to find through traditional intuitive methods. In this review, we introduce the principle, merit, demerit and application of various strain optimization methods in detail. The main problems in existing methods and perspectives on this emerging research field are also discussed, aiming to provide guidance to choose the appropriate methods according to different types of products and the reliability of the predicted results.

ObjectiveTo discuss the clinical efficacy of hyperextension reduction with percutaneous kyphoplasty in treatment for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.MethodsTwenty-three patients with 23 vertebral compression fractures underwent hyperextension reduction with percutaneous kyphoplasty from September 2010 to October 2011.The vasual analogue scale(VAS) score and complications were recorded during followed up.Results All cases were successfully experienced the procedure using unilateral or bilateral percutaneous pedicle underwent hyperextension reduction. The operation time was (75 ± 45) minutes, the mean volume of cement injected into each vertebral body was(4.9 ± 1.9) ml.All patients had successful intervention without spinal cord injury, pulmonary embolism.Followed up(7.5 ± 6.5 ) months, the symptoms of the patients were improved, preoperative VAS score was (7.5 ± 0.7 ) scores, reduced to (3.4 ±0.4) scores at day 1 postoperatively,(2.7 ±0.5) scores at day 7 postoperatively and (2.3 ±0.5) scores at month 1 postoperatively, there was significant difference between preoperative and postoperative (P< 0.05).ConclusionsApplication of hyperextension reduction with percutaneous kyphoplasty can relieve pain and restore the vertebral body height,it may be an effective treatment method for patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors for healthcare-associated infection (HAI)in patients with severe chronic hepatitis B (CHB),and provide theoretical basis for preventing and controlling HAI.Methods Retrospective survey was used to investigate the occurrence of HAI in hospitalized patients with severe CHB in a hospital between January 2012 and January 2015,risk factors for HAI were analyzed. Results A total of 126 patients with severe CHB were investigated,49 patients developed 106 times of HAI, incidence of HAI was 38.89%.The main HAI site was respiratory tract (n=47,44.34%),the next was abdominal cavity (n=34,32.08%).A total of 76 isolates of pathogens were detected,gram-negative bacteria,gram-positive bacteria, and fungi accounted for 53.95%(n =41 ),43.42%(n =33),and 2.63%(n =2)respectively.Risk factors for HAI in patients with severe CHB were patients ’ age ≥ 60 years, length of hospital stay ≥ 30 days, complications, invasive operation, serum albumin < 35 g/L,and white blood cell count (WBC)< 4 × 109/L. Conclusion Incidence of HAI in patients with severe CHB is high, the majority are respiratory tract and abdominal cavity infection, risk factors are old age, long length of hospital stay, invasive operation, hypoalbuminemia, and low WBC count.
