OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the efficacy of Berberine hydrochloride tablet in the treatment of non-alco-holic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),and provide evidence-based reference for the clinical treatment. METHODS:Retrieved from CJFD,Wanfang Database,VIP,CBM and PubMed,observational studies about Berberine hydrochloride tablet in the treatment of NAFLD were collected. After data extraction and quality evaluation,Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.3 statistics software. RESULTS:A total of 6 studies were included, involving 294 patients. Results of Meta-analysis showed Berberine hydro-chloride tablet could significantly reduce the levels of AST[WMD=18.97,95%CI(2.25,35.70),P=0.03],ALT[WMD=31.04, 95%CI(7.17,54.91),P=0.01],TG[WMD=1.07,95%CI(0.39,1.74),P=0.002] and TC[WMD=1.31,95%CI(0.79,1.84),P<0.001] in the serum of patients with NAFLD. There were significant differences. CONCLUSIONS:Berberine hydrochloride tablet can significantly improve the liver function and blood lipid levels of patients with NAFLD,and the clinical efficacy is relatively pre-cise. Due to the limit of methodological quality,it remains to be further verified by large-scale and high quality RCT.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2010;27(5):1095-1099
The purpose of this study was to test whether oxygen carriers could decrease tissue injury in a rat model of acute myocardial infarct. The study included 3 groups: SD rats in group II and group III were subjected to permanent occlusion of their left anterior descending coronary arteries; SD rats in group I were subjected to sham-operation. The success of modeling was assartained by ECG. Then the rats were given drug via caudal veins for 2 days. A quantitative evaluation was made with an automatic device for interpretation of cardiac troponin T (cTnT); heart staining was made for the calculation of myocardial infarction size (MIS); and myocardial tissue was taken and subjected to routine pathological hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining for showing myocardial cell injury. cTnT in the sham-operation group was significantly lower by comparison with that in the model group (P < 0.01), and it was slightly lower in the oxygen carriers group than that in the model group, but there was no statistically significant difference (P = 0.18); MIS was significantly smaller in the sham-operation group than that in the model group (P < 0.01), and it was greater in the model rats than that in the oxygen carriers rats (P < 0.05). HE staining of myocardicum in the oxygen carriers group was significantly better than that in the model group (P < 0.01). The evidence suggested that oxygen carriers increased oxygen supply to ischemic myocardium, reduced the myocardial injury, and thus might offer a novel treatment of myocardial infarction.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2009;34(8):965-968
OBJECTIVEStudy on the of content variety of flavonoids in the course of processing Cortex Moutan, and discuss the preparation mechanism of Cortex Moutan Carbonisatum (CMC).
METHODHPLC method was developed for the determination of flavonoids in various extent of CMC, the sample was extracted by ultrasound 30 min twice along with ethanol 50 mL. Chromatographic conditions were as follows: wavelength 360 nm, gradient eluant of methanol--0.5% per hundred trifluoroacetic acid.
RESULTThe content of the three flavonoids cuts down along with the processing time and the rising temperature.
CONCLUSIONThe impact of various extent of processing on flavonoids content of the CMC is very great. The overall trend is that high temperature and long time lead to the lower of the content of flavonoids. This provides a basis data for the further study on the hemostatic mechanism and quality control of CMC.

OBJECTIVETo establish the analytical method of the HPLC fingerprint of Cortex Moutan Carbonisatum and offer the evidence for quality control and quality evaluation of carbonized Cortex Moutan accordingly.
METHODTen batches of Cortex Moutan Carbonisatum were measured by HPLC with Paeonol as a reference substance and the HPLC analysis was performed on a Hedera ODS-3 Chromatographic Column (4.6 mm x 150 mm, 5 microm), with methanol to Acetonitrile (1:1) and 0.5% trifluoroacetic acid solution as mobile phase in gradient mode and the detection wavelength was at 258 nm.
RESULTThe common mode of the HPLC fingerprints were set up. There were 11 common peaks in the fingerprint of ten samples, and the similar degrees to the ten batches were between 0.830-0.991.
CONCLUSIONThe method is simple, accurate and have a good reaptability. And the quality of Cortex Moutan Carbonisatum can be controlled effectively by the HPLC fingerprint.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2018;34(7):563-566
Objective:
To investigate the association of iron with stress hormones and insulin resistance in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Methods:
Seventy-five pregnant women diagnosed as GDM during 24-28 weeks were collected from January to November 2015 in Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital, and 75 normal pregnant women were used as control group. Blood glucose, insulin, stress hormones and iron metabolism related indexes were detected. Homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was used to evaluate insulin resistance, and the correlation of iron metabolism with stress hormones and insulin resistance was analyzed.
Results:
Compared with control group, norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (E) levels were higher in GDM group (both

Objective:To evaluate the effects of CD34 + cell transplantation on radiation-induced brain injury (RIBI) and the relationship with the activity of astrocytes in rats. Methods:Healthy adult male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 210-230 g, were divided into 3 groups ( n=36 each) using a random number table method: control group (C group), RIBI group, and CD34 + group.RIBI model was established by computed tomography (CT) scanning in anesthetized rats.Another 6 rats were selected, and CD34 + cells were eluted by flow cytometry and labeled with BrdU.CD34 + cells were transplanted at day 7 after establishing the model.Brain tissues were obtained at 7, 14 and 28 days after establishing the model in C and RIBI groups and at 14 and 28 days after establishing the model in CD34 + group for determination of Evans blue (EB) extravasation ratio and expression of GFAP (by immuno-histochemistry). Results:Compared with group C, the EB extravasation ratio was significantly increased after establishing the model, and the expression of GFAP was up-regulated in group RIBI ( P<0.05), and no significant change was found in EB extravasation ratio after establishing the model in group CD34 + ( P>0.05). Compared with group RIBI, the EB extravasation ratio was significantly decreased after establishing the model, and the expression of GFAP was down-regulated in group CD34 + ( P<0.05). Conclusion:CD34 + cell transplantation can reduce RIBI, and the mechanism may be related to inhibiting the activity of astrocytes in rats.

Objective To evaluate the characteristics of dose distribution of neuronal networks in vitro on microelectrode arrays(MEAs)under 2.6 GHz radiofrequency(RF)exposure. Methods The MEAs were coupled with a real-time RF exposure setup, and electromagnetic simulation software was used to calculate the RF dose absorbed in cultured neuronal networks.A fiber-optic temperature probe was used for experimental validation and monitoring of the cell temperature during RF exposure. The MEAs were used to record the electrical activity of neurons. Results For an input power of 1 W,a specific absorption rate(SAR)level of(15.51±2.48)W/kg was calculated, and the variability of the SAR distribution was 16%.In our experimental system, the temperature elevation of neurons was up to 0.15℃for an SAR of 4 W/kg RF exposure. Conclusion The exposure device can provide high SAR efficiency and uniformity in the 2.6 GHz band, which is suitable for studying the real-time effects of RF fields on the electrical activity of neuronal networks in the 5G network band.
