Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(25):4012-4016
BACKGROUND:Titanium zirconium niobium tin al oy (Ti-Zr-NB-Sn al oy) has good tissue structure, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, which is an ideal dental material. OBJECTIVE:To explore the efficacy and safety of Ti-Zr-NB-Sn al oy in dental restoration. METHODS:A retrospective analysis was performed on clinical data of 87 cases of dental defects, including 43 males and 44 females, aged 22-41 years. Of the 87 cases, 43 cases were repaired with Ti-Zr-NB-Sn al oy as observation group, and the other 44 cases were treated with nichrome as control group. After 36 months of fol ow-up, the therapeutic efficacy, dental restoration conditions, dental prosthesis conditions and patient satisfaction were observed and compared. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al the 87 patients were fol owed up for 36 months. After the fol ow-up, the total effective rate and patient satisfaction were higher in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05). In the control group, there were four cases of swol en gums, four cases of bleeding gums, four cases of al ergies, three cases of gum gray line, and six cases of mucosal pain;in the observation group, there was only one case of swol en gums, and the dental restoration was better in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05). For the dental prosthesis, there were 10 cases of dental stent damage and 20 cases of dental stent loosening in the control group;and only one case of dental stent damage and one case of dental stent loosening in the observation, and the observation group was superior to the control group in the dental prosthesis (P<0.05). Experimental findings suggest that Ti-Zr-NB-Sn al oy for repair of dental defects has good biocompatibility and security.

BACKGROUND:Studies demonstrated that, the probability of middle and distal end of femur bone fatigue or fracture reaches maximum when the moving loads increase or under an impact load.OBJECTIVE:To analyze the stress-strain distribution, principle stress vectors and displacements of femur during gait.METHODS:The contour curves of femur and muscles attached to femur were extracted slice by slice based on the serial CT data from a healthy male volunteer, which were used to build musculoskeletal system models. And the straight-line muscle models of the lower extremities were constructed to evaluate muscles forces and joints forces by using a multi-objective optimization method based on gait analysis. The finite element models of femur during gait were built by taking muscle forces and joint forces as boundary conditions in ANSYS 10.0 to obtain the stress-strain distribution and displacements.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The maximal displacement occurred on the femur head, and the maximal stress occurred in the middle and distal end of femur during the whole gait. There exists bigger tensile stress in the location of the femur neck and middle and distal end of corpus ossis femoris. The result validates the fact that femur fracture often happens at the middle and below of femur stem from the viewpoint of biomechanics.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of the comprehensive surgical management of primary venous reflux disease in lower extremity. MethodsComprehensive surgical management was performed on 108 patients( 126 limbs) with primary venous reflux disease between February, 1996 and Sept, 2000. All limbs were performed with superficial venous operation. External valvuloplasty of femoral vein valve was given to 83 cases(97 limbs) simultaneously, and to 22 cases (26 limbs) with concomitant subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery(SEPS). 3 cases (3 limbs) were operated with concomitant SEPS only. ResultsVenous claudication, swelling, and aching disappeared in 80.2% of limbs( 101/126) and apparent improvement in 19.8 % of limbs(25/126). All varicose veins were gone. Ulcer healing pre sented in 80 % of the limbs(8/10) with ulcers and ulcer decreasing in 20% of the limbs(2/10) in 3~6 months after superficial and deep venous operations. Ulcer healing presented in 23 cases(26 limbs) with ulcers and ulcer decreasing in remaining 2 limbs in 14 to 32 days after additional SEPS besides superficial and or deep venous operations. Deep venous valve sufficiency was demonstrated in 89.7% (113/126) of the limbs by Color Duplex. ConclusionIn the patients with severe primary venous reflux disease, comprehensive surgical management with concomitant superficial, deep and perforating veins might greatly improve the clinical effect.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of bicyelol tablets in treatment of hepatitis B patients infected with YMDD mutation of HBV. Methods Sixty-eight chronic hepatitis patients infected with HBV YMDD mutants and 100 patients with non-mutants HBV were enrolled in the study. All patients received bicyclol tablets orally 150 mg/d, t. i. d, for 24 weeks. Clinical symptoms, signs and adverse effects were observed, and the blood routine, liver function tests, serum HBV markers and HBV DNA loads were examined at 12th and 24th week of the study, Results After treatment for 24 weeks, the normalization rates of ALT and AST in mutant group were 79.4% ( 54/68 ) and 70. 6% (48/68) ; 11 ( 16. 2% ) patients were markedly effective and 14 (20. 6% ) were effective. Clearance rates of HBeAg and HBV DNA were 27.9% ( 17/61 ) and 17.6% ( 12/68 ), while the seroconversion rate of HBeAg was 14. 7% (9/61). The differences of the above indexes were not statistically significant between mutant group and non-mutant group. Conclusion Bicyciol can both protect liver functions and inhibit virus replication in patients infected with HBV YMDD mutants.
