Objective: To investigate the effect of tumor necrosis factor-α converting enzyme (TACE) on mucous hypersecretion in inlf ammatory airway. Methods: Mucous hypersecretion model of human lung adenocarcinoma cells A549 was induced by human neutrophil elastase (HNE), and TNF-α converting enzyme inhibitor-1 (TAPI-1), an inhibitor of TACE, was chosen for the inference study. The expression of MUC5AC and TACE was examined. hT e cells were divided into 5 groups: a negative control group, HNE1 (15 nmol/L) group, HNE2 (25 nmol/L) group, HNE3 (50 nmol/L) group and TAPI-1 group. RT-PCR was used to examine MUC5AC and TACE mRNA expression. The protein expression of TACE and MUC5AC was examined by Western blot and ELISA, respectively. Results: HNE induced the TACE and MUC5AC mRNA and protein expression in a dose-dependent manner. Compared with the control group, the increases were all signiifcantly increased in the three dosages of HNE group (P<0.01). The HNE-induced TACE and MUC5AC mRNA and protein expression were dramatically attenuated in the presence of TAPI-1, an inhibitor of TACE (P<0.01). Conclusion: TACE participated cell signalling pathway of airway mucous hypersecretion, and could down regulation the level of inlfammation airway mucous hypersecretion.

AIM: The aim of the present study is to investigate changes of five biochemical markers of bone turnover during the formation of ovariectomized rat model. METHODS: Three-month-old female SD rats were divided randomly into ovariectomized (OVX) group, sham-operated (sham) group and control group. Five biochemical markers of bone turnover levels, including serum osteocalcin (OC), total alkaline phosphatase (ALP), bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) and hydroxyproline (HYP) were measured before and at 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 and 4 months after surgery. The right proximal tibias of rats were excised at the same time point for histopathological observation. RESULTS: Serum OC, ALP, BALP, TRAP and HYP levels in OVX group were significantly higher than that in sham group. As regard to the time of peak level arrived, the sequence of changes was as follows: TRAP/HYP→OC→ALP/BALP. There was a significant positive correlation between five markers. The pathological changes of trabecular bone in OVX group were only observed 3 months after surgery. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that postmenopausal osteoporosis has a high bone turnover rate. During the formation of ovariectomized rat model, changes of bone resorption markers precede changes of bone formation markers. Serum OC, ALP, BALP, TRAP and HYP are sensitive to evaluate the bone loss in the earlier stage of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

14 years) in female. ICA-C4: (4.3?0.6) mm in male, (3.9?0.6) mm in female. A1 segment of anterior cerebral artery (ACA-A1): (2.1?0.4) mm in male, (2.1?0.4) mm in female. Anterior communicating artery (ACoA): (1.4?0.4) mm in male, (1.3?0.4) mm in female. M1 segment of middle cerebral artery (MCA-M1): (2.7?0.4) mm in male, (2.6?0.4) mm in female. Basilar artery (BA): (2.9?0.5) mm in male, (2.8?0.4) mm in female. P1 segment of posterior cerebral artery (PCA-P1): (2.1?0.5) mm on the left and (2.0?0.5) mm on the right in male, (2.0?0.3) mm on the left and (1.9?0.3) mm on the right in female. PCA-P2: (1.8?0.4) mm in male, (1.7?0.3) mm in female. Posterior communicating artery (PCoA): (1.1?0.3) mm in male, (1.2?0.4) mm in female. Among various diameters, only PCA-P1 had significant difference between the left and the right (P=0.003); only MCA-M1 (P=0.048), PCA-P1 (P=0.012), ICA-C2 (P=0.000) and C4 segments (P=0.000) had significant differences in gender, respectively; and only ICA-C2 had significant difference in age (P=0.001). Of these significantly different diameters, the diameters in male were larger than those in female. There were significant correlation between PCA-P1 and PCA-P2 (r=0.652,P=0.000), and between ICA-C2 and ICA-C4 in female group (r=0.550,P=0.000), respectively. Conclusions The normal values of diameter of cerebral arteries on MR angiograms may play a reference role in diagnosing cerebral vascular diseases.
4.Recent advance in relation between mutations in tubulin gene and malformations of coetical development
Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine 2016;15(11):1182-1184
In recent years, with the progress of the technology in genetics, imaging and molecular biology, the study of malformation of cortical development (MCD) has gradually shifted from phenotype to genotype.Genetic studies of MCD have found that MCD is associated with a number of non-ion channel family genes and so far more than 100 genes have been reported to be associated with one or more kinds ofMCD.Tubulin gene is one of the important categories, and it has been found that can lead to mcrolissencephaly, lissencephaly or polymicrogyria of MCD.Based on these three key links of MCD,we will review the relationship between the diseases and the tubulin genes from many aspects.
