1.Preventive effect of pollen on obesity of MSG-mice
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
Preventive effect of pollen, (at 5~10g/kg/d orally for 1 month) on obe-sity and elevation of lipid in serum and liver was observed in obese mice induced by sub-cutaneous injection of L-monosodium glutamate (MSG)2 mg/g from 1st to 5th day afterbirth. The results showed that in MSG-treated mice the body weight and weight of fatin groin, around kidney, and in abdominal cavity and also the Lee's index were all redu-ced by pollen given orally before onset of obesity caused by MSG and during development. The total cholesterol and triglyceride levels in serum and liver were much higher in theMSG mice than normal mice. These results indicated that ora1 administration of pollencould prevent obesity of MSG treated mice.

Chinese Journal of Urology 1994;0(02):-
Objective To investigate a clinically perspective way of inducing transplantation tolerance. Methods Kidney transplantation model was established using Lewis (RT1 l) rats as recipients and DA (RT1 a) rats as donor. Before transplantation the recipient rats were conditioned with anti lymphothyte serum (ALS) injected for three times, followed by 10 8 donor bone marrow cells transfusion (BMT) and injection of 100 mg/kg cyclophosphamide (CP), survival time of kidney allografts, mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) and delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) of recipient to donor spleen cells were observed and studied. Results 5 of the 7 kidney allografts survived 73 to 90 days without sign of rejection. The donor specific MLR and DTH were suppressed. Conclusions Induction of transplantation tolerance is a prospective way for the prevention of allograft rejection.

Objective: To explore the prevalence and co-morbidity in depression disorder among children and adolescents in Chengdu City. Methods: Using a one-phase design, 4S8S children and adolescents in grades 1~10 were assessed with the Strength and Difficulty questionnaire (SDQ) and Development and Well-Being Assessment (DAWBA) . A structured interview with verbatim reports was reviewed by clinicians so that information from parents, teachers, and children were combined in a manner that emulated the clinical process. Results: (1) The rate of depressive disorder was 1.2% , and that in girls was much higher than that in boys after 12 years old (2.56% vs. 1.42%) . (2) The rate of depressive disorder increased with age from 0.10% (6~8 years) to 2.59% (≥ 15 years) . (3) The co-morbidity was 40% . The most common comorbidity diagnosis was anxiety disorders (29.1%) and behavior disorders (25.5%) . Conclusion: The prevalence of depressive disorder among children and adolescents in Chengdu is 1.2%. Gender and age may be the related factors. The co-morbidity is common in children and adolescents with depression disorder.
