Serum insulin immunoassay plays an important role in the investigation of glucose metabolic disorders. Insulin assay has undergone method innovations for 50 years. Diverse insulin molecular immunogenicity and multiform biological activities, in addition to the immunoassay complexity, make serum insulin assays practically interfered by the factors such as blood sample qualities, serum anti-insulin antibodies and immunological cross-reactivity. Meanwhile, lack of standardization has imposed obstacles in the comparative studies among different reference laboratories.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the value of each single and combined applications of ultrasound thyroid imaging reporting and data system (TI-RADS), ultrasonic shear wave elastography in the diagnosis of thyroid microcarcinoma (TMC).
METHOD:
323 patients with thyroid tiny nodules confirmed by surgery and pathology were analyzed prospectively. Then their TI-RADS and shear wave elastography features were summarized. SWE elasticity indices (mean, minimum and maximum value of interest) of nodules were measured. The surgical pathology results were regarded as the gold standard to calculate the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of TI-RADS, shear wave elastography and their combination in the diagnosis of TMC. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of TI-RADS, shear wave elastography and combined application of both were drawn. The area under the ROC curve were calculated. Furthermore, the value of combined application of both examinations in the diagnosis of thyroid microcarcinoma (TMC) was investigated.
RESULT:
From 323 nodules,253 were thyroid carcinomas and 70 were benign. Areas under the ROC curves (AUC) of SWE parameters were 0. 648,0. 629 and 0. 605. For SWE, the optimal cut-off value according to ROC curve was SWE_max = 65.50 kPa and SWE_mean = 37.50 kPa. Generally, the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV and NPV were 88.14%, 82.86%, 87.00%, 94.89% and 65.91% for TI-RADS, and 49.01%, 74.29%, 54.49%, 87.32% and 28. 73% for SWE. There were statistically significant differences in the sensitivity, accuracy, PPV and no statistically significant differences in the specificity, and NPV. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV and NPV were 95.26%, 67.14%, 89.16%, 91.29% and 79.66% for combined application of both. The area under the ROC curve of TI-RADS, shear wave elastography and their combination were 0.763, 0.616, 0.804. For nodules ≤ 5 mm, the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV and NPV were 91.67%, 66.67%, 87.07%, 92.44% and 64.29%. However, for nodules 5-10 mm,the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV and NPV were 98.50%, 67.44%, 90.91%, 90.34% and 93.55%.
CONCLUSION
The diagnose of TMC can be further improved by combined application of ultra-sonic TI-RADS and SWE.

ObjectiveTo investigate application value of parametric image processing in contrastenhanced ultrasound imaging in diagnosis of ovarian masses. MethodsFifty cases with ovarian masses underwent routine ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging using a new dedicated parametric image processing software SonoLiver to analyze patterns of vascular formation and blood stream perfusion in the ovarian mass tissues on a digital video recorder in real time, compare their morphological characteristics of time-intensity curve (TIC) and dynamic vascular patterns (DVP) curve, and analyze quantitatively all indicators generated by SonoLiver.ResultsIn ultrasound imaging of the 50 cases, there were 24 cases (86%) displaying mainly blue lowly-enhanced imaging in those with benign masses and 15 cases (68%)displaying mainly red highly-enhanced imaging in those with malignant masses, with statistical significance (P <0. 01 ). There was significantly different characteristics of TIC and DVP between patients with benign and malignant masses. In 23 cases with benign masses, their DVP were significantly higher above the baseline than in those with malignant ones ( P = 0. 000), and in 15 cases with malignant lesions, their DVP were much shorter below the baseline than in those with benign ones, with statistical significance (P <0.05). The intensity of contrast medium, the time to reach its peak intensity and average transit time were all significantly higher in those with malignant masses than in those with benign ones (all P < 0. 05 ). But, no statistical difference in the time of initial increasing between the two groups was found (P > 0. 05). ConclusionsThere is significant difference in TIC and DVP of ultrasound imaging between benign and malignant masses, which if combined with contrast enhanced ultrasound parametric image processing can provide a more visualized quantitative information of benign and malignant ovarian masses with SonoLiver software.

This study investigated the anti-HSV-2 effect of alumen through in vitro and in vivo experiments. Viable cell counting was employed to assess the toxicity of alumen on Vero cells. The inhibition rate of HSV-2 was defined as the cytopathic effect (CPE) of the cells infected with the virus. Alumen suppositories of different concentrations were vaginally applied to the guinea pigs which were then infected with HSV-2 via a vaginal route. The clinical symptoms were observed and the local virus titer calculated. The results showed that alumen had an in vitro anti-HSV-2 effect by means of antiviral duplication, direct killing of the virus, and antiviral adsorption. Alumen suppositories of different concentrations could reduce or completely inhibit HSV-2 infection in guinea pigs. It was concluded that alumen had an in vitro anti-HSV-2 effect through multiple approaches and it could suppress in vivo vaginal HSV-2 infection of guinea pig to some extent.

Objective To study the application of autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model to predict the monthly reported malaria cases in China,so as to provide a reference for prevention and control of malaria. Methods SPSS 24.0 software was used to construct the ARIMA models based on the monthly reported malaria cases of the time series of 2006-2015 and 2011-2015,respectively. The data of malaria cases from January to December,2016 were used as validation data to compare the accuracy of the two ARIMA models. Results The models of the monthly reported cases of malaria in China were ARIMA(2,1,1)(1,1,0)12 and ARIMA(1,0,0)(1,1,0)12 respectively. The comparison between the predictions of the two models and actual situation of malaria cases showed that the ARIMA model based on the data of 2011-2015 had a higher ac-curacy of forecasting than the model based on the data of 2006-2015 had. Conclusion The establishment and prediction of ARIMA model is a dynamic process, which needs to be adjusted unceasingly according to the accumulated data, and in addi-tion,the major changes of epidemic characteristics of infectious diseases must be considered.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2021;42(1):109-111
Objective:
To investigate the effects of orthokeratology lenses and frame glasses on anisometropia in children with low myopia in one eye.
Methods:
Between January 2017 and January 2018, 120 children of primary and secondary school age with myopic anisometropia low myopia in one eye presenting to the Second People s Hospital of Yunnan Province were selected as research objects, with average refractive error of(-1.00,-2.50)D in one eye and(-0.50,0.50)D in another eye. Participants were divided into an experimental group and a control group (60 cases per group), according to a random number grouping method. The control group were given frame glasses, while the experimental group were given orthokeratology lenses. A prospective study was conducted to compare and analyze the lengths of the posterior eye axis (AL) and spherical equivalent (SE), measured at different time intervals between the two groups.
Results:
There were some initial differences in AL and SE between the two groups before the experiment began; however, this difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). After 12 months, participants myopic eyes given the orthokeratology lenses had shorter AL[(24.91±0.11)mm] compared to the control group[(25.02±0.09)mm],participants health eyes had longer AL[(24.58±0.24)mm] compared to the control group[(24.20±0.13)mm]. One month after the subjects stopped wearing plastic mirrors, participants myopic eyes had higher SE[(-2.22±0.78)D] compared to the control group[(-2.64±0.21)D],and had lower that in the control group[(-0.96±0.84)(-0.37±0.54)D](t=4.02,-4.58,P<0.05).
Conclusion
In children with low myopia in one eye, compared with wearers of frame glasses, wearing corneal shape lenses can effectively restrain AL extend and control the progression of eye myopia. At the same time, wearing corneal shape lenses can promote contralateral healthy eye axial extension and an increase in diopter, reduce the anisometropia value, solve the problems of a binocular visual axis development imbalance, and promote coordinated eye development.
