Objective To analyze the clinical application value of the critical value reporting system.Methods The data record-ings of the critical values reported by the clinical laboratory department from Nov.2013 to May.2014 were inquired through the clinical laboratory information management system(LIS).The incidence rate of the critical values,receipt time of the critical values, items and department distribution were analyzed.Results A total of 1856 items of critical value were reported.The occurrence rate of the critical values was 0.31%.The top 5 of critical value numbers according to the item distribution were white blood cells (46.28%),total bilirubin (16.92%),D-dimer (9.81%),hemoglobin(8.51%)and platelets (8.03%).According to the depart-ments distribution,the top 3 departments with maximal reported critical values were the neonatal department (37.12%),followed by the department of gynecological oncology(23.33%)and the obstetrical department (21.17%).Conclusion The critical value reporting system plays an important role in the obstetrics and gynecology hospital.It should be evaluated and analyzed regularly.

Objective To explore the pain education program on the pain intensity and beliefs of patients with cancer pain.Methods 119 patients with cancer pain were divided into the control group (61 cases) and the experimental group (58 cases) according to the patients’ room number.The control group was given general health education by the ward nurses,while the experimental group was given pain education program by research nurses.The pain intensity and beliefs of two groups were compared.Results After the implementation of pain education program,pain scores were significantly reduced in both groups,and the pain beliefs scores were significantly promoted compared with the control group.Conclusions Pain education program for cancer pain patients can improve effect of cancer pain management.

Objective To observe the response of activated microglia/macrophages within and around the lesion site after rats' spinal cord injury treated with chitosan.Methods 35 adult female Wistar rats were randomly divided into the sham group (n=5), completely transection group (n=15) and chitosan treated group (n=15). The responses of activated microglia/macrophages on the 1st day, 3rd day, 7th day, and in the 2nd week and 4th week after surgery were examined by immunohistochemistry.Results Microglia/macrophages were fully activated and the number of these cells increased and got the highest level on the 3rd day post injury, then quickly decreased. In the chitosan treated animals, the microglia/macrophages were fully activated and the number increased to peak on the 7th day, then quickly decreased, there were still a few microglia/macrophages around the wound in the 2nd to 4th week after the treatment.Conclusion Microglia/macrophages could be recruited within and around the lesion area longer when treated by chitosan.

Objective To study the relationship between the health?related quality of life and Graves′ophthalmopathy quality of life(GO?QOL)in Graves′ophthalmopathy(GO)patients. Methods A total of 44 GO patients were recruited for the study and investigated with SF?36 and GO?QOL questionnaires. In addition,the thyroid function and related antibodies were also detected. Results The scores of SF?36 and GO?QOL were higher in the patients over 45 years than those under 45 years(P<0.05). GO?QOL score was lower in the patients with thyroid stimulating hormone recep?tor antibody higher than 10 IU/mL(P<0.05). The scores of SF?36 and GO?QOL were obviously higher in the patients who had a clinical activity score above 3(P<0.01). Conclusion GO?QOL is a better and more specific questionnaire for GO patients.

ObjectiveTo discuss the sonographic features of the urogential system in AIDS patients.MethodsThe positive sonographic lesions of urogenital systems of 336 AIDS patiens were analyzed retrospectively,with some compared with the results of aspiration biopsy,lab tests and clinical observation and treatment.ResultsThe ultrasonographic features of the pathological changes of the urogenital systems in AIDS patients were relative infectious diseases and relative tumors,which were respectively renal enlargement in 157 cases (46.73％),diffuse renal parenchymal disease in 129 cases (38.39％),urogential single infections in 125 cases (37.20％),and urogential cancer in 17 cases (5.06％).All of the above symptoms often developed in the same patient.ConclusionsThe ultrasonography of the lesions of the urogenital systems in AIDS patients are valuable documents for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To establish a mouse model of orthotopic Lewis lung carcinoma using Matrigel, to evaluate the tumor growth and metastasis, and to provide a more stable mouse model of orthotopic lung cancer, which is more similar to human lung cancer.Methods Logarithmic phase of cultured Lewis lung cancer cells were suspended in Matrigel, vac-cinated into the left lung of inbred C57BL/6 mice.Five mice were killed on the 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, and 16th days, re-spectively, and to observe the median survival, tumor formation rate, tumor growth, and metastasis.Pathological changes of the mouse lung, liver, kidney and spleen were examined.Results In 5 mice killed on the 7th postoperative day, small tumor nodules were observed on the lung in three mice and no tumor was visible by gross inspection in the other two mice, but small tumor nodules were observed under the microscope.For all the mice killed on the 10th postoperative day, tumors were visible to the naked eye on the lung of all the five mice.On the 13th day, orthotopic tumor was observed on the lung with bloody pleural effusion and pleural metastasis in all the five mice.On the 25th day, in addition to the pleural metasta-sis, one mouse had pericardial metastasis and renal metastasis.The survival periods of the 5 mice were 17 d, 20 d, 22 d, 22 d, and 25 d, respectively, with a median survival period of 21.2 d (17-25 d), and the tumor formation rate was 100%.Conclusions Mouse models of orthotopic Lewis lung carcinoma is successfully established using injection of tumor cells suspended in Matrigel.This model is more similar to the growth of human lung cancer, with good stability, high tumor formation rate and characteristics of distant metastasis, therefore, is worthy of further application.

Enterprise and competent department in China start to explore evaluation method and technique,as revaluation of Chinese patent medicine has been paid high attention in recent years.However,many problems of Chinese patent medicine standard itself commonly have been neglected in the revaluation of curative effect.This review comprehensively analyzed problems have to be faced in the revaluation of the curative effect of Chinese patent medicine,such as excessive broad expressions of function and indication,obscure definition of indication,identification between function and indication,correspondence of diseases and syndromes between Chinese and western medicine,feasibility of clinical trials,with the provision of general methods and solutions.

Disease bio-banks are an important strategic resource for medicine development. Such a bank with complete information and high information sharing enhances the competitiveness of medicine and promote the development of translational medicine. The present development of such banks is found with such setbacks as weak government leadership and standardization, as well as lack of a sharing mechanism. Therefore medical institutions should strengthen their standardization and informationization of disease bio-banks, which deserve sufficient government policy support and guidance. These efforts will help preserve our rich clinical resources, in addition to their integration and sharing for medicine advancement.

Objective To analyze the medication regularity of the prescriptions in the work of Li Dong Yuan; To provide references for inheritance of his academic ideas.Methods The prescriptions in the work of Li Dong Yuan were inputted into the TCM Inheritance Supporting System (V2.5). By using revised mutual information, complex system entropy cluster and unsupervised hierarchical clustering, the composing medication regularity was analyzed.Results Based on the analysis of 470 entries of prescriptions, the frequency of 44 entries was more than 30 times; 19 combinations contained 2 to 3 entries, including 11 entries in total; 14 medicine association rules and their confidence coefficient were obtained, which leaded to 54 new core combinations and 27 new prescriptions. Conclusion The results of this study show Li Dong Yuan’s academic idea of “internal injuries of spleen and stomach, all diseases will born”, which guides the medication regularity of using medicine with the functions of strengthening the middle jiao, invigorating yang, tonifying qi and reinforcing the stomach. The results also provide data support for further study.
