BACKGROUND:Finite element contact analysis was performed in premolars of lower mandible with enamelo-dentinal junction defects, which provided biomechanical evidence for the prevention of wedge-shaped defect and occlusion treatment.
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the effects of undermining damage of the enamelo-dentinal junction on the stress distribution of sclerous tissues of dental cervix.
METHODS:Triangle defects were established and models of wedge-shaped defect were designed in mandibular premolar along the enamelo-dentinal junction. The stresses during tightly biting and masticatory movement were simulated. Nonlinear contact analysis was conducted in sclerous tissues of mandibular premolar in the buccal cervical region.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:By simulating the stresses during tightly biting and masticatory movement, the stresses were concentrated in the defected regions of mandibular premolar at the enamelo-dentinal junction. With the defect length increased in size, the stress value and the magnitude of the stress field both increased. These indicated that the destruction of enamelo-dentinal junction altered stress distribution in the buccal cervical region. In the clinic, wedge-shaped defect should be fil ed promptly.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2010;12(9):1166-1170
Objective To study the preventive effect of lipoxygenase inhibitor nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) on chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). Methods To construct CAG rat model, 72 male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups, including normal group, CAG model group, NDGA group with different dose and positive groups (folacin). After feeding for 24 weeks, all rats were executed, their stomach mucous membrane was picked out and stained with H.E. The expression of 5-LOX and P16 protein in mucous membrane epithelia cells were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The CAG incidence rate in model group was significant higher than normal group (77.8% vs 0% , P <0. 05), which indicated that C AG model rat was successfully established. The CAG incidence rate of model group was significantly higher than NDGA groups (77.8% vs 25% ,27.3% ,25%, P<0.05), while no significant difference was found between positive group and NDGA groups (30% vs 25% ,27.3% ,25% , P>0.05) .The expression of 5-lox in model group was higher than NDGA groups (44% vs 25% ,27% ,25%, P<0.05). The expression of P16 protein in model group was lower than NDGA groups (66.7% vs 83.3% ,81.8% ,83.3%,P<0.05) , and there were no significant differences between NDGA groups and positive group (83. 3%,81.8% ,83.3% vs 80%, P>0.05). Conclusions NDGA could prevent the occurrence of N-ethyl-N-nitro-N nitrosoguanidine-induced chronic atrophic gastritis in rat. NDGA could down-regulate the expression of 5-LOX and up-regulate the expression of P16 in stomach mucous membrane of N-ethyl-N-nitro -N-nitrosoguanidine-induced chronic atrophic gastritis in rat.

Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms are a group of heterogeneous tumors originated from the gastrointestinal peptidergic neurons and neuroendocrine cells.Rectum is one of the major sites of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms.Although the progression of rectal neuroendocine neoplasms (rNENs) is relatively slow, metastasis could occurs and liver is the major target organ invaded by distant metastatic rNENs.Surgical operation can be used as the preferred method for the treatment of rNENs and its metastasis at present. If the clinical situations of tumors are not eligible for the operation, interventional treatment can be considered as an alternative treatment. The chemotherapies and molecule-targeted drugs for rNENs are primarily in the light of therapeutic methods for pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms,it may help patients achieve partial response or stable disease, and prolong patients survival time. However, there has been few clinical researches directed toward rNENs and no an extensive consensus for treatment of rNENs up to now,and more evidences of evidence-based medicine should be necessitated. This paper has discussed and summarized treatment progression of rNENs and its metastasis.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 1999;0(06):-
Objective To explore the relationship between the overexpression of P glycoprotein (P GP) multidrug resistance (MDR) gene in the epileptic patient's peripheral blood lymphocytes and the drug resistance of the intractable epilepsy Methods This is a prospective, observational study. First, the overexpression of P GP MDR in 85 epileptic patients' (M 39, F46,overage age 24 years) peripheral blood lymphocytes were investigated by using immunocytochemistry (ICT) or flow cytometer (FCE). Then, patients were given a single or a combining of two antiepilepstic drugs which they did not received before (including carbamazepine, valproic acid, phenobarbitone, phenytoin), when the single drug was not effective in observing the clinical efficacy Results In FCE study group, results showed that the 11 patients with overexpression of P GP MDR in the epileptic patient's peripheral blood lymphocytes became tolerant to antiepileptic drugs. Eighteen out of 32 patients without overexpression of P GP MDR are effective. In the ICT study group, it is effective that there are only 2 out of the 22 patients with overexpression of P GP MDR. Seven of 12 patients without overexpression of P GP MDR are effective Conclusion It is suggested that the overexpression of MDR in the intractable epileptic patient's peripheral blood lymphocytes might be a significant drug resistance marker. The sensibility of ICT method should be better than the FCE,though the latter may be more accurate.
