Objective To evaluate the value of SPECT/CT in differentiating malignancy from benign spinal disease. Methods Fifty-three patients with foci of abnormally increased uptake in the spine detected by 99Tcm-MDP planar whole body bone scan subsequently underwent bone SPECT/CT. The final diagnosis was determined by pathological examination or clinical follow-up ( ≥6 months), which was applied to calculate the diagnostic efficacy of bone SPECT/CT. Results A total of 25 patients were confirmed to have bone malignancy. The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, false positive rate, false negative rate, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for 99Tcm-MDP bone SPECT/CT were 96.00% (24/25), 96.43% (27/28), 96.23% (51/53), 3.57% ( 1/28), 4.00% ( 1/25), 96.00% (24/25) and 96.43% (27/28), respectively. Conclusion 99Tcm-MDP bone SPECT/CT imaging provides good clinical value for the differential diagnosis of spinal diseases.

To ensure the quality and safety of Panax notoginseng, a method for the simultaneous determination of 10 mycotoxins in Panax notoginseng was developed using ultra performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). The sample was extracted with acetonitrile and purified by HLB multifunction cleanup column. The separation was performed on a Phenomenex Kinetex XB-C18 column by gradient elution using methanol and 5 mmol·L(-1) ammonium acetate as mobile phase. The targeted compounds were detected in MRM mode by mass spectrometry with electrospray ionization (ESI) source operated in both positive and negative ionization modes. The linear relationships of the 10 mycotoxins were good in their respective linear ranges. The correlation coefficients (r) ranged from 0.9981 to 1.0000. The LOQs of the 10 mycotoxins were between 0.15 and 8.6 μg·kg(-1). The average recoveries ranged from 73.8% to 107.0% with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 0.10%-10.9%. The results demonstrated that the proposed method was sensitive and accurate, and suitable for the mycotoxins quantification in Panax notoginseng.

To discuss the effect of environmental factors and photosynthesis on the growing of plant and the content of active components in Scutellaria baicalensis, the photosynthetic physiology index and diurnal changes of flavonoid constituent of S. Baicalensis were observed and tested in flowering and fruiting stages, and in the meantime environmental parameters were recorded. The obtained data were analyzed data by using path analysis and gray correlation analysis. The results showed that PAR and SWC were important environmental factors impacting on photosynthesis of S. baicalensis. SWC, RH and Ca were important environmental factors impacting on baicalin content. PAR, Po and Ta were important environmental factors impacting on baicalein content.

Objective To summarize the experience of the prevention and treatment of iatrogenic hypo-parathyroidism in total thyroidectomy .Methods 377 patients received total thyroidectomy performed by the Thy-roid Professional Group of Hepatobiliary Surgery Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from Jan.2010 to Dec.2012.Their clinical date were retrospectively analyzed .Results There was no perma-nent postoperative hypoparathyroidism .The incidence of temporary hypoparathyroidism was 13.79%( 52/377 ) . The occurrence of transient hypocalcemia was 10.61%( 40/377 ) .Conclusions Iatrogenic hypoparathyroidism can be prevented by intraoperative in situ protection of parathyroid glands and their blood supply using fine cap -sule anatomy method .Postoperative improvement of microcirculation and calcium supplement also help prevent postoperative hypoparathyroidism .

OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of administration intranasal corticosteroids on small airway disfunction for allergic rhinitis (AR) patients. METHODS AR patients with small airway disfunction were administrated intranasal corticosteroids for twelve weeks. Before treatment, nasal VAS, RQLQ were recorded, pulmonary function test were given. After therapy, VAS, RQLQ were obtained again at the 4th, 8th and 12th week. Pulmonary function test were performed at the 4th and 12th week. RESULTS VAS, RQLQ were all improved after therapy (P <0.01). The indices of FEV1/FVC%, MMEF pred%, MEF75pred%, MEF50pred%, MEF25pred%were also improved significantly (P<0.05), especially for MMEFpred%, MEF75pred%, MEF50pred% (P<0.01). CONCLUSION Small airway lesions can be obviously improved by the intranasal corticosteroids applied for AR. It has positive significance for preventing AR from developing into asthma.

Objective: To investigate the expression of chemokine like factor 2 (CKLF2) mRNA in the rat myocardium after myocardial infarction(MI).Methods: In a rat model of MI, the myocardium surrounding the infarcted area was used for RNA preparation at different time points. After RT, competitive polymerase chain reaction amplification was performed to assess the expression of rCKLF2 mRNA. SAS Kruskal Wallis test was used for statistical comparisons. Results: The gene expression of rCKLF2 at mRNA level was significantly increased in the myocardium surrounding the infarcted area 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks after infarction. Conclusion: It is possible that CKLF2 contributes to the pathophysiological process and needs to be further investigated.

BACKGROUND:Santoni put forward the cortical bone trajectory technology by changing the traditional pedicle screw placement for lumbar internal fixation in order to obtain better control of the screw and bone in 2009. OBJECTIVE:To analyze biomechanical stability of cortical bone trajectory system in the lumbar fusion. METHODS:Twenty fresh newborn calf L3/4, L5/6 motion segment specimens were obtained, and their ranges of motion were detected under different states, as normal controls. Subsequently, twenty samples were divided into cortical bone trajectory screw group and traditional pedicle screw group, which underwent cortical bone trajectory screw fixation combined with posterior lumbar fusion and traditional pedicle screw fixation combined with posterior lumbar fusion, respectively. Without destruction, ranges of motion were detected under different states in both groups. In the revision group, after the test in the traditional pedicle screw group, screw was withdrawn, and cortical bone trajectory screw was used to detect its range of motion under different states. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Ranges of motion at bending to the left and right, anteflexion, posterior extension and axial rotation were significantly lower in the cortical bone trajectory screw group and traditional pedicle screw group than in the normal control group (P<0.05). No significant difference in bending to the left and right, anteflexion, posterior extension and axial rotation was detected between the cortical bone trajectory screw and revision groups and traditional pedicle screw group (P>0.05). These results confirmed that cortical bone trajectory technology combined with posterior lumbar fusion can obtain identical stability as the traditional pedicle screw fixation combined with posterior lumbar fusion. Simultaneously, it is a new choice for revision after traditional pedicle screw fixation.
