Objective:To analyze and compare the volatile oil in the leaves of Juniperus formosana Hayata from Yuzhong and Lu-qu. Methods:The volatile oil from Juniperus formosana Hayata was extracted by steam distillation, and then identified by gas chroma-tography-mass spectrometry ( GC-MS) . Results:The average yield of the volatile oil from the leaves of Juniperus formosana Hayata from Yuzhong and Lugu was 0. 21% and 1. 45%(w/w), respectively. Between the two areas of the volatile oil from the leaves of Juniperas formsana, totally 40 peaks were separated from the volatile oil from Gansu with 38 ones (95%) were identified. Totally 51 peaks were separated from the volatile oil from Xizang with 47 ones (92%) were identified. The maln constituents in the former volatile oil wereα-pinene(44.92%),l-caryophyllene(9.23%),( -)-isoledene(6. 50%),a-caryophyllene(5.60%),myrcene(4.54%) and d-cadinene(3. 37%), and those in the latter were di-epi-cedrene(31. 87%),cyclohexene(15. 28%),γ-elemene(10. 05%), lanceol (5. 80%) and α-pinene(5. 79%). Conclusion:The constituents in the volatile oil in the leaves of Juniperus formosana Hayata from the two different regions are various, and the differences in the yield and compounds are notable. The method provides reference for the establishment of quality standard for Juniperus. formosana Hayata.

3. Comparison on ginsenosides in Panax ginseng from different habitats in northeast China and its processed products
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2013;44(24):3551-3556
Objective: To investigate the contents of total ginsenosides and 10 sorts of monomer ginsenosides in the roots of Panax ginseng from different habitats of northeast China and its processed products, and thus to provide the useful reference data for its quality st andard establishment and st andardized cultivation. Methods: Based on the pharmacopoeia and literatures related to the roots of P. ginseng, the contents of total ginsenosides and 10 sorts of monomer ginsenosides in the roots of P. ginseng samples collected from 10 different habitats of northeast China and its processed product samples were studied and determined, and then these various indicators were analyzed by DTOPSIS method. Results: Ginseng from Changbai, Ji'an, and Fusong reached the st andard of Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 and Chinese National St andards in those different measurement indicators. Comprehensive evaluation of ginseng from Changbai, Ji'an, Fusong, and Jingyu by DTOPSIS method showed better results than others. Conclusion: The qualities of ginseng from different habitats of northeast China are different. Ginseng collected from those four habitats which result better quality of ginseng than that of ginseng from other place stems from Chinese GAP ginseng planting bases, and thus reflects the importance of GAP for ginseng cultivation.

To observe the preventive effect of polydatin on diabetic myocardial hypertrophy in mice and discuss its and mechanism. The diabetic model was induced with low dose STZ (40 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) x 5 d, ip) for five days in mice. The myocardial hypertrophy was determined by hypertrophy indexes (LVHI, left ventricular/right ventricle and septum), left ventricular/body weight (LV/BW), the histological examination and the mRNA expression of atrial natriuretic factor(ANF). The fast blood glucose(FBG), serum insulin and plasma hemoglobin A1c ( HbA1c) levels were detected, and then HOMA insulin resistance index ( HOMA. IR) was calculated. The mRNA and protein expressions were measured by qRT-PCR and western blotting, respectively. According to the results, the FBG of the model group exceeded 11.1 mmol x L(-1), with notable decrease in BW and significant increase in insulin, HbA1c and HOME. IR, suggesting the successful establishment and stability of the diabetic model. The increases in LVHI, LV/BW, cell surface and ANF mRNA indicated a myocardial hypertrophy in diabetic mice. Meanwhile, the model group showed decrease in mRNA and protein expressions of PPARβ and significant increase in NF-κB p65, COX-2 and iNOS expressions. After the preventation with PD (50, 100 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1)), diabetic mice showed increase in BW, reduction in the levels of FBG, insulin and HbA1 c, relief in insulin resistance and significant recovery in hypertrophy indexes, indicating PD has the protective effect in diabetic myocardial hypertrophy. Meanwhile, PD up-regulated the expression of PPARβ, inhibited the expressions of NF-κB p65, COX-2 and iNOS, demonstrating that PD's protective effect may be related to the activation of PPARβ and the inhibition of NF-κB, COX-2 and iNOS signaling pathways.

Objective To explore the strategy of repairing penile defect after necrosis caused by shortwave diathermy. Methods Between January 2004 and June 2012,18 cases with penile defect after necrosis caused by shortwave diathermy were admitted in our hospital. The age of those patients ranged from 18 to 55 years old (mean 34 years old).Among them,15 cases have been married. All patients have the history of penile shortwave diathermy therapy after surgery. After debridement, penile complete defect was found in 6 cases, incomplete defect was found in 10 cases and corpus cavernosum and corpus spongiosum partly defect was found in 2 cases.Under general anesthesia,we applied penis extent in 10 cases with incomplete defect, forearm free flap in 2 cases with penile complete defect, abdominal artery perforators flap in other 4 cases with penile complete defect. In 2 cases with corpus cavernosum and corpus spongiosum partly defect, the scrotal septal skin flap and fascia pedicle flap was used for 1-stage urethral reconstruction and costicartilage was implanted for 2-stage cavernosum reconstruction. Results 18 patients were followed up for 0.5-10.0 years (mean 2.3 years).16 cases with penile complete defect or incomplete defect had normal length after operation, ranged from 6.3 to 9.2cm.During erectile phase, the length of their penis ranged from 8.7 to 11.5 cm.No feeling abnormality or erectile dysfunction was complained. All patients exhibited the excellent morphology and felling of penis with minor scar in donor site.Early (half a month) complications included distant flap necrosis in 1 case and disruption of the wound in 1 case, which were cured after debridement and conventional treatment. After one year,we did not see the flap atrophy. One case had tumid which influenced penile beautiful and sexual intercourse. It was improved by local liposuction. One month after surgery, two patients with corpora cavernosa and corpus spongiosum partial defect had normal voiding. No feeling and erectile dysfunction were complained during the following-up.Conclusions According to the characteristics of the penile defect due to the shortwave diathermy, selecting the optimal skin flap and individual repair strategy are the keys to successful treatment.

Chinese Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2015;(8):426-429
objective To investigate the recurrence of stroke, clinical prognosis and vascular changes in patients with ischemic stroke due to middle cerebral artery stenosis. Methods The ischemic stroke patients with symptomatic middle cerebral artery stenosis were enrolled continuously and followed up prospectively for six months. The recurrence of ipsilateral stroke, clinical prognosis and dynamic changes of vessels were analyzed. Results Eighty patients were included, and 20.0% of the patients(16 cases)presented with recurrence of ipsilateral ischemic stroke and 56 cases (70.0%)with a good outcome(modified Rankin scale[mRS]≤1)during the 6 months follow-up;38.6% patients (27 cases) presented with significant vascular changes with progression in 12 cases (17.1%)and regression in 15 cases (21.4%). Conclusion The patients with simple symptomatic middle cerebral artery stenosis have an high rate recurrence of ipsilateral stroke but have good prognosis;Lesioned artery of the majority of patients in the short period after stroke was stable, but vascular stenosis in some patients could appear progression or remission.
