AIM:To compare the clinical efficacy of three combined surgical treatments for cataract induced by silicone oil -filled eye.
METHODS: The data of 75 eyes of 75 patients with cataract induced by silicone oil-filled eye were reviewed. Those patients were divided into group A, B, C. The patients in group A were treated by phacoemulsification combined with silicone oil removal through pupil and IOL implantation, the patients in group B were treated by phacoemulsification combined with silicone oil removal through 23G vitrectomy system and IOL implantation, the patients in group C were treated by phacoemulsification combined with silicone oil removal through 20G vitrectomy system and IOL implantation. The operation time, intraocular pressure, best corrected visual acuity ( BCVA ) , discomfort days and complications before and after the surgery were compared.
RESULTS: The differences of the intraocular pressure were not statistically significant between the three groups after the surgery. The BCVA of the three groups were all improved, but the differences were not statistically significant between three groups. The differences in postoperative complications showed no statistically significant. Otherwise, group A and B cost less operation time. The discomfort days of group A were less than other groups.
CONCLUSION: Three different surgical methods were safe and effective, appropriate surgical approach could be chosen according to the patients' clinical manifestations. For patients with cataract induced by silicone oil-filled eye whose retina recovered well, phacoemulsification combined with silicone oil removal through pupil and IOL implantation is a time-saving, safe and effective method.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic airway diseases, which leads to heavy social and economic burden to our country. We can use serum biomarkers to evaluate diagnosis, classification, treatment and prognosis of COPD.The change of biomarkers provides lots of valuable clinical information.A variety of biomarkers are associated with the severity of lung function, which can be used to judge disease severity. Some indicators are related to the diagnosis of acute exacerbation or hospitalization risk. Some serum markers would guide therapy and can be effectively applied to clinical work.Study of COPD serum biomarkers would provide more reference information for clinical physicians in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of COPD.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a collagen dressing for healing of wounds induced by fractional CO2 laser in patients with atrophic facial acne scars. Methods Seventy patients with atrophic facial acne scars were recruited to this study, and randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group. Both the two groups were treated by two sessions of fractional CO2 laser with an interval of one month. After each session of laser therapy, the treatment group were topically treated with a collagen dressing for 20 minutes once a day for 10 consecutive days, while the control group did not apply any collagen dressing. All the patients were followed for 6 months.Efficacy was evaluated by the degree of acute inflammatory reaction, time needed for crust shedding and patient comfort level. The length of downtime as well as incidence of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and other adverse reactions were also assessed. Results Compared with the control group, the treatment group showed a decrease in the score for acute inflammatory response (W =312,P < 0.01),time needed for crust shedding (t =2.08,P < 0.05),incidence rate of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (x2 =6.06,P < 0.05),length of downtime (t =3.14,P < 0.05),but an increase in self-reported comfort level (W =172,P < 0.01).No new scar formed in any of these patients. Conclusion The collagen dressing is effective in reducing incidence of adverse reactions and improving satisfaction degree of patients with atrophic facial acne scars after fractional CO2 laser therapy.

The premembrane and envelope proteins (prM-E),which contains the mainly protective antigen related with virulence and tropism, are the primary structural protein of flavivirus.However,prM-E in ZIKV is rarely understood. We have analyzed the structure and biological effects of prM-E in ZIKV by bionformatics methods. The prM-E proteins virus-like particles of dengue virus was introduced in the present. Then, the prM-E proteins virus like particles of ZIKV was prospected.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2001;21(2):141-143
Objective To assess the effectiveness of supracricoid partial laryngectomy in the treatment of laryngeal cancer. Methods This study infiuded 22 patients operated on from 1993 to 2000 using this surgical procedure. 22 were males with mean age of 63 years (ranging from 43 to 74 years). 21 were glottic cancers (3 T1aNoMo, 4 T1bNoMo, 11 T2NoMo, 3 T3NoMo) and 1 supraglottic cancer (T2N1Mo) according to the 1997 UICC system. Supracrieoid partial laryngectomy was performed, with the epiglottis preserved and reconstructed with cricohyoidoepiglottopexy (CHEP). Results The overall 3-year and S-year survival rates were 88.24% and 70%, respectively. All patients were decannulated. The average time for decannulation was 25 days (ranging from 14 to 60 days). Speech was good in all cases. Conclusion CHEP not only excises the neoplasms completely and safely but also preserves the laryngeal physiologic function well.

Objective To summarize the experience of adjuvant therapy for primary hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods 316 cases of operable hepatocellular carcinoma were divided into three groups. Only hepatectomy were performed in group one (21 8cases).Preopemtive adjuvant TACE were done in group two (52 cases). Preoperative adjuvant TACE and postoperative trans-portal vein chemotherapy were done in group three (46 cases), which was named hepatectomy sequencing two vessel therapy. Results 1, 3 and 5 year survival rote were 51.2 %, 30.0 % and 20.5 % respectively in group one, 57.2 %, 43.0 % and 31.5 % in group two, 84.0 %, 62.5 % and 51.0 % in group three. The postoperative disease-free survival rate in group three was significantly higher than that in group one and group two (P <0.05). Conclusion Hepatectomy sequencing two vessels therapy in perioperative period might improve the survival rate, which can prevent and delay the incidence of recurrence and may improve the effect of liver resection.

To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of tripterygium glycosides (TG) combined with ACEI/ARB preparation in treating diabetic nephropathy stage IV. The computer retrievals were made in Cochrane Libarary, PubMed, Embase, SCI, Sinnomed, CNKI, Chinainfo and VIP, and hand retrievals were conducted for meeting and academic papers (updated to December 30, 2014), in order to collect randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized control trials for TG combined with ACEI/ARB preparation in treating diabetic nephropathy stage IV and set the literature inclusion and elimination standards. Eligible literatures were included and evaluated according to standards in Cochrane Handbook. RevMan 5.3 and Stata 12.0 were used for a Meta-analysis. A total of 13 randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized control trials involving 1119 patients with diabetic nephropathy were included. The Meta analysis result showed that compared with the control group, the combination group showed better effects in reducing the 24-hour urinary protein [MD = -0.84, 95% CI (-1.02, -0.66)], raising albumin [SMD = 0.98, 95% CI (0.81, 1.16)], the total efficiency [OR = 4.23, 95% CI (2.77, 6.46)] and the significant efficiency [OR = 5.35, 95% CI (2.70, 10.60)], with no statistical difference in Serum Creatinine between Both groups [MD = -0.82, 95% CI (-4.30, 2.66), P = 0.64]. However, the risk of adverse reactions increased by 7% [RD = 0.07, 95% CI (0.03, 0.12)]. The Egger's test showed no publication bias. Tripterygium Glycosides combined with ACEI/ARB in treating diabetic nephropathy stage IV is supper than the single administration of ACEI/ARB, with a good prospect in clinical application. Nevertheless, due to the small-size and low-quality samples in this study, more high-quality and large sample-size randomized controlled trials shall be conducted to verify the findings.
