1.The relationship of visual prognosis and G11778A point mutation in Leber hereditary optic neuropathy
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2013;(4):395-398
Background Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) is a disease characterized by maternal inheritance.A number of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutation has been thought to be associated with this disease. Objective This study was to investigate the clinical and molecular genetic properties of LHON in two Chinese families. Methods Forty subjects from two Chinese families with LHON were enrolled in Affiliated First Hospital of Zhengzhou University, including 28 maternal members (10 of these members are LHON and 12 controls from two families. All the participants had a complete ophthalmic examination including visual acuity, direct ophthalmoscopy, color sensation and visual evoked potentials.MtDNA was extract from the whole blood sample of all participants.PCR-DNA sequencing was performed to detect the point mutation of the G11778A,T14484C,and G3462A for each subject.Written informed consent was obtained from each subject prior to this study. Results Only G11778A point mutation was identified in all 28 maternal members from the two families. No point mutation of G11778A was identified in non-maternal members, and no point mutation of the T14484C and G3462A were found in the two families. Conclusions The inherited pattern of these two families shows typical clinical and genetic features of LHON.LHON patients with G1 1778A mutation have a poor prognosis of visual acuity.
2.Effect of intravascular He-Ne laser irradiation on the abnormal lipid metabolism induced by clozapine
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(4):205-206
ObjectiveTo observe the effect and side effect of intravascular He-Ne laser irradiation (ILIB) on the abnormal lipid metabolism induced by clozapine.Methods52 patients with schizophrenia (34 males, 18 females) took clozapine alone at a dosage of 200-350 mg/d. All patients were treated with ILIB every other day, 60 min once, ten times altogether. Before and after treatment, lipid metabolism, liver, kidney and blood coagulate functions of patients were tested.ResultsTC, TG, LDL-ch levels of patients decreased obviously after ILIB treatment (P<0.05), while HDL-ch level increased obviously (P<0.01). The liver, kidney and blood coagulate functions were as same as before treatment.ConclusionILIB has an extreme effect on the abnormal lipid metabolism induced by clozapine, and it is quite safe and has clinical practice value.
3.Effect of music treatment on memory decrease of patients with schizophrenia caused by clozapine
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2002;8(11):684-686
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of music treatment on memory decrease causing by clozapine of patients with schizophrenia. MethodsThe 70 patients with schizophrenia aged 18 to 30, who were in hospital for the first time and had graduated from middle school were divided into the experimental group who received music treatment and the control group with 35 cases each at random, when they reached the clinical cure standard after only taking clozapine. The two groups were given the same test before and after the experiment.ResultsThe memory measurement of the two groups had no difference before the experiment(P>0.05). The patients in the experimental group greatly increased their memory after the treatment (P<0.01), but these was no significent difference in the control group (P>0.05).Conclusions Music treatment can help to improve the memory of the patients received clozapinetreatment.

Objective To investigate the infiltration of dendritic cell (DC) in Vocal cord polyp, laryngeal leukopla-kia and glottic squamous cell carcinoma, and to observe laryngeal mucosal lesions of the state of the immune microenviron-ment, and to research significance of DC on the development of glottic squamous cell carcinoma. Methods The infiltration of S-100+and CD83+DC in 20 cases of Vocal cord polyp, 47 cases of laryngeal leukoplakia, 45 cases of glottic squamous cell carcinoma tumor and 20 cases of laryngeal normal mucosa were examined using immunohistochemistry. Results The num-ber of S-100+and CD83+DC were significantly higher in glottic squamous cell carcinoma, laryngeal leukoplakia and vocal cord polyp than that in laryngeal normal mucosa (P<0.05). The number of S-100+and CD83+DC were higher in laryngeal leukoplakia than that in glottic squamous cell carcinoma (P<0.05). The number of S-100+and CD83+DC in mild dysplasia and moderate dysplasia were less than that in severe atypical hyperplasia (P<0.01). In glottic squamous cell carcinoma, S-100+ and CD83+DC with poor-differentiated was significantly less than that with well-differentiated (P < 0.01). Conclu-sion Changes in the number of dendritic cell was found in vocal cord polyp, laryngeal leukoplakia and glottic squamous cell carcinoma, which indicated that there were an abnormal immune status. Changing of dendritic cell in laryngeal mucosa plays an important role in laryngeal cancer development.

Through collecting and collating the development process of traditional Chinese medicine dispensing, the development of modern Chinese medicine dispensing on the basis of experience could be promoted. "Heyaofenji", "Hehe", " Heji" in ancient Chinese medicine, herbal medicine literature and law were collected, and then things were sorted out according to traditional Chinese medicine dispensing theory, skills and legal norms. Firstly, "Tang Ye Jing Fa" is the earliest book which marks the rudiment of traditional Chinese medicine dispensing. Secondly, traditional Chinese medicine dispensing theory formed in "Shen Nong's herbal classic". Thirdly, Zhang Zhongjing's "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" marked the formation of Chinese medicine dispensing skills. Lastly, Provisions in Tang Dynasty law marks the development of traditional Chinese medicine dispensing.

Objective: To analyze the clinical features and outcomes of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in patients with dilated-phase hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (DHCM). Methods: A total of 16 DHCM patients received CRT in our hospital from 2007-03 to 2016-01 were retrospectively studied to analyze their clinical features and outcomes. Results: There were 12 male and 4 female patients at the mean age of (53.3±13.5) years. Pre-operative QRS duration of ECG was (158.7±32.2) ms, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was (33.6±6.3) %, the patient with NYHA class I, II, III and IV were 1, 5, 8 and 2 respectively. 13 patients received new CRT device, 3 received upgraded device and 8 (50%) combining atrial fibrillation (AF). The patients were followed-up for (2.56±2.13) years, 5 of them died including 3 of heart failure, 1 of sudden death and 1 of stroke. At 6 months follow-up time, 7 patients had the response to CRT which was defined by the improvement of NYHA class≥1 and the absolute elevation of LVEF≥5%; NYHA class improved from (2.69±0.79) to (2.38±0.89), P=0.02; LVEF increased from (33.6±6.3) % to (40.03±9.83) %, P=0.01. Conclusion: DHCM patients with CRT indication had the higher incidence to suffer from AF, those were more in patients with traditional pacemaker or ICD upgrading. DHCM patients with CRT had the poor general prognosis, while there was still certain proportion of patients had the response to CRT.
