1.Thinking of improving management of hospital medical periodicals
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2009;22(4):247-249
The management of hospital medical periodicals is now facing many realistic problems such as management system of editorial department, ability of editorial team, quality of articles and outside living environment. Co-publishing periodicals with pharmaceutical enterprises, with foreign publications and innovating publishing model of periodicals have been adopted by some domestic hospitals. By studying cases of periodical management innovation, and summing up the latest domestic point of view on medical periodical management, this paper held the view that the hospital medical periodicals management should be grouped into the framework of hospital scientific research management. Basically, the hospital should focus on solving the problem of management system in priority;developing in a way of specialization, collectivization and brand-orientation;establishing of a high-level editorial team;strengthening international communication and publishing periodicals according to international rules.
2.Analysis on problems in patent management in hospitals and countermeasures
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2010;23(3):174-176,200
Patent competition has become one of the key issues of global competitions in economy, science and technology. In hospitals, the patent management strategy provides guidance for and impels knowledge innovation. However, hospital management is quite weak in China, which may have been caused by various reasons, such as the over enthusiasm for published paper and the technological achievement contrasted with negligence in patent application and exploitation. In the paper, countermeasures are proposed, which include the whole process management during the scientific research, setting up detail targets and standard procedures for patent management, training patent management staff, et al.

Clinical work is the core of a hospital. The level of the clinical work and scientific research are the major indexes for the evaluation of a hospital or a clinician. However, there seems contradiction between the clinical work and scientific research. For hospital administration and clinicians, it is important to adopt clinical work as the center, and conduct research around the clinical practice, which will facilitate the transition from the scientific research to clinical application. Eventually the clinical work will improve and medical science will develop.

ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the oxidative injury induced by low glucose and mitochondrial membrane potential in HUVEC-12 cells. Methods Human umbilicalvein endothelial cells HUVEC-12 were cultured in low concentration glucose for 4 h.Cell viability of HUVEC-12 cell was assessed with MTT assay.Dihydroethidium (DHE) was used as a reactive oxygen species (ROS)capture, which was detected the mean fluorescence intensity of samples and Rhodamine 123 as a fluorescence detector was to measure the level of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) in cells. Results Comparing to HUVEC-12 cells viability in 5.5 mmol/L glucose group (96.80 ±3.20)%, cells exposed to 2.8 mmol/L glucose group (66.40 ± 1.60) % and 0 mmol/L glucose group (58.93 ± 1.67) % were decreased by 32% and 40% respectively (P < 0.01).ROS level of 5.5 mmoL/L glucose group, 2.8 mmol/L glucose group and 0 mmol/L glucose group were 0.59 ± 0.02, 0.74 ± 0.04 and 0.88 ± 0.05,respectivdy, increased by 25% in cells exposed to 2.8 mmol/L glucose and by 48% in cells without glucose exposure comparing to 5.5 mmol/L glucose group (P <0.01) ; MMP levels of 5.5 mmol/L glucose group,2.8 mmoL/L glucose group and 0 mmoL/L glucose group were 148.83 ± 3.51, 271.07 ± 19.54 and357.74 ±51.32 respectively, increased to 1.8 times in cells exposed to 2.8 mmol/L glucose and to 2.4times in cells without glucose exposure comparing to 5.5 mmoL/L glucose group (P < 0.01).Conclusion Low glucose leads to injury in HUVEC-12 cells, which is probably induced by the oxidative stress via the increasing MMP.

Objective To investigate the distribution and resistant pattern of Enterobacter cloacae to antimicrobial agents for reasonable use of antibiotics .Methods E .cloacae strains were isolated from patients from January 2009 to December 2013 .The strains were identified by VITEK‐2 Compact System of BioMerieux and tested for antimicrobial susceptibility by Kirby‐Bauer disk diffusion method .The results were analyzed .Results A total of 397 nonduplicate E .cloacae strains were isolated during 5 years ,accounting for 5 % of the total gram‐negative isolates . The strains were mainly isolated from sputum (48 .9% ) , followed by secretions (30 .5% )and urine (7 .3% ) .The percentage of E .cloacae strains resistant to all the antibiotics tested was on decline except carbapenems ,cefoxitin and amoxicillin‐clavulanic acid .Carbapenems were relatively more active against E .cloacae strains .The E .cloacae strains showed higher resistance rate toβ‐lactams .Conclusions It is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of clinical isolates to guide rational use of antimicrobial agents .

Toxicogenomics (TGx) refers to a set of technologies that assess genome-wide responses after toxic agent exposure. Altered gene expression patterns that are caused by specific exposures reveal how toxicants may disrupt cellular processes and lead to side effects. Development and application of " omics" technology facilitate the toxicogenomic research which sharing and interpretation of the enormous amount of biological information generated in toxicologic field. In recent years TGx has been widely valued and successfully applied as an effective research tool to evaluate the toxic effects of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Here we reviewed current progress in the field of TGx and focused on its application in traditional Chinese medicine safety evaluation, especially in revealing the mechanism, finding potential toxic biomarkers and studying compatibility detoxification of TCM.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2010;30(1):22-25
OBJECTIVETo explore the mechanism of action of Er'zhi Tiangui Granule (ETG) in improving quality of oocytes by observing metabonomics and level of calcium ion in follicle fluid, and to investigate the impacts of calcium ion, cholinesterase (ChE) and creatinine (CCr) levels in human follicle fluid on the quality of oocytes and outcome of pregnancy in patients after in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET).
METHODSFifty-seven patients after IVF-ET were randomly assigned to two groups: the trial group (27 patients) and the control group (30 patients), both were treated with conventional Western medical treatment, but ETG and Liuwei Dihuang Granule (LDG) was given respectively to the two groups additionally. Changes of Shen-asthenia syndrome, amount of oocyte obtained, fertilization rate, cleavage rate, high-quality embryo rate and pregnancy rate, levels of calcium ion, ChE and Cr in follicle fluid, and metabonomics in the two groups were observed and compared.
RESULTSAfter treatment, scores of Shen-asthenia syndrome 8.30 +/- 1.46, fertilization rate 0.82 +/- 0.09, cleavage rate 0.97 +/- 0.07 and high-quality embryos rate 0.51 +/- 0.18 in the trial group were all better than those in the control group (9.16 +/- 1.15, 0.74 +/- 0.18, 0.91 +/- 0.10, 0.41 +/- 0.09, respectively, P<0.05); metabonomics principal component analysis showed that in the trial group, the principal component in follicle fluid distributed mainly in the section I, and that in the control group distributed mainly in the section II, showing significant difference between the two groups; while in most pregnant patients, it distributed in the section I. The Ca2+ concentration in the trial group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Levels of ChE and Cr in the trial group were higher than those in the control group, but the difference between them was insignificant.
CONCLUSIONETG is better than LDG in regulating metabonomics, Ca2+ concentration, improving the quality of oocyte and embryo, and increasing pregnant rate in patients after IVF-ET.
