Academic Papers published with hospital-based data between 2004～2013 on top 5％ impact factor journals in all JCR 184 subject categories were reviewed in the study.All of them were differentiated to 3 groups according to the ways of collaboration between authors.The distribution of these papers institutions and subjects were studied and questionnaire survey to hospitals was also used.It's found that the multidisciplinary collaborating work is a key factor to publish high impact papers which showed the central tendency in subjects and institutions levels,active management measures on interdisciplinary development will contribute the outcome of high impact papers.

Objective:To explore the monitoring value of left ventricular functional parameters obtained by bedside ultrasound combined with clinically relevant indicators in patients with veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO).Methods:A retrospective study was conducted. A total of 24 patients receiving VA-ECMO adjuvant support in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University from June 2018 to January 2020 were selected. The bedside ultrasound was performed on the first day of ECMO support, the day before weaning, the clinical indicators before weaning were obtained. The differences in clinical indicators and the left ventricular functional parameters between the two groups of whether weaning successfully were compared; univariate Logistic regression analysis was used to screen out the related factors affecting weaning.Results:Sixteen patients were successful weaned and 8 patients failed. Compared with the weaning failure group, patients in the weaning success group required less continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT, cases: 4 vs. 6, P < 0.05), mean arterial pressure (MAP) before weaning was higher [mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa): 84.64±9.55 vs. 62.30±8.79, P < 0.05], and the pulse oxygen saturation (SpO 2) was also higher (0.966±0.670 vs. 0.866±0.061, P < 0.05), while vasoactive-inotropic score (VIS), serum creatinine (SCr) and serum lactic acid (Lac) were lower [VIS score: 7.27±1.42 vs. 16.93±8.52, SCr (μmol/L): 123.60±83.64 vs. 213.10±117.39, Lac (mmol/L): 1.94±0.91 vs. 5.62±5.48, all P < 0.05]. Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the MAP, VIS, SCr, Lac, SpO 2 before weaning were the related factors affecting weaning [odds ratio ( OR) were 0.306, -0.740, -0.011, -0.632, -4.069; 95% confidence interval (95% CI) were 1.065-1.732, 0.235-0.899, 0.979-0.999, 0.285-0.992 and 0.001-0.208; P values were 0.014, 0.022, 0.038, 0.047, 0.002]. In the weaning success group, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), velocity of mitralannulus in systolic (LatSa), maximum flow velocity of aortic valve (AV-Vmax), velocity-time integral (VTI), left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LVGLS), left ventricular global longitudinal strain rate (LVGLSr) were all increased on the day before ECMO weaning compared with the first day of ECMO support [LVEF: 0.40±0.05 vs. 0.28±0.07, LatSa (cm/s): 6.81±0.91 vs. 4.62±1.02, AV-Vmax (cm/s): 104.81±33.98 vs. 64.44±16.85, VTI (cm): 14.56±3.11 vs. 7.96±1.98, LVGLS: (-8.95±2.59)% vs. (-5.26±1.28)%, LVGLSr (1/s): -0.48±0.11 vs. -0.29±0.09], whereas the ECMO flow was significantly reduced (L/min: 1.46±0.47 vs. 2.64±0.31), the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in left ventricular functional parameters between the first day of ECMO support and the day before ECMO weaning in the weaning failure group. Compared with the weaning failure group, the weaning success group had higher LVEF, LatSa, AV-Vmax, VTI, LVGLS, LVGLSr on the day before ECMO weaning [LVEF: 0.40±0.05 vs. 0.26±0.07, LatSa (cm/s): 6.81±0.91 vs. 4.31±1.03, AV-Vmax (cm/s): 104.81±33.98 vs. 67.67±18.46, VTI (cm): 14.56±3.11 vs. 7.75±2.77, LVGLS: (-8.95±2.59)% vs. (-4.81±1.81)%, LVGLSr (1/s): -0.48±0.11 vs. -0.30±0.10, all P < 0.05] and lower ECMO flow (L/min: 1.46±0.47 vs. 2.20±0.62, P < 0.05). Conclusion:Bedside echocardiographic left ventricular function parameters (LVEF, LatSa, AV-Vmax, VTI, LVGLS, LVGLSr) combined with clinical indicators (MAP, VIS, SCr, Lac, SpO 2) were helpful to evaluate the therapeutic effect of patients receiving VA-ECMO support and can provide important guiding value in the selection of VA-ECMO weaning timing and the judgment of prognosis.

Objective To analyze the differential proteomics of ASMC stimulated by wild IL-13 and mutant IL-13 and to investigate the relations of protein profiles of ASMC to asthma and possible targets for the treatment of bronchial asthma.Methods The total proteins of ASMC stimulated by wild IL-13 and mutant IL-13 were separated by immobilized pH gradient(IPG)-based 2-DE and the differentially expressed protein spots were identified by matrix assisted laser desorption-time of flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF-MS). Results The 2-DE detected approximately(840?21)spots on wild IL-13 samples and(892?17)spots on mutant IL-13 samples(n=3)and(685?19)spots matched.Six significantly differential proteins were subjected to MALDI-TOF-MS analysis and three of them were identified as stathmin 1,Ribosomal protein p~0 and NADH dehydrogenase.Conclusions ASMCs stimulated by wild IL-13 and mutant IL-13 present different proteomic profiles that may shed some light on the mechanism for the asthma causing effect of wild IL-13 and mutant IL-13.

BACKGROUND: There are many methods for investigating the physical development and the somatotype of child. Among them, Heath-Carter so matotype method is a comprehensive evaluation method on somatotype. In this method, 10 items of anthropometric indicators are selected from several dozens of items as assessment indicators for development and somatotype.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the rules and characteristics of soma totype development of Hah children in rural area of Huludao city, so as to supplement the essential data for physical anthropology.DESIGN: Normal children were chosen as the subjects, and cross-sectional investigation was carried out.SETTING: Department of Anatomy, Jinzhou Medical College. PARTICIPANTS: With cluster sampling, the Han children between 7 to 10 years old were selected from central primary school of Mingshuixiang Village of Suizhong County of Huludao city from July 2001 to September 2003. All the selected children should be verified healthy by physical examination at school. The children were divided into two groups according to gender, and each group was divided into 4 subgroups according to age,with 46 to 63 members in each group. There were 8 groups altogether.Complete data of 408 children were collected (male 213, female 195).METHODS: Each indicator was measured twice with Heath-Carter soma to type method and selected the average value. Specialists were responsible for the 10 indicators, and a database was established in computer according to age and gender. Calculated the following indicators in turn: endomorphic factor, mesomorphic factor and ectomorphic factor, coordinate values of X and Y on somatotype chart, Height/Weight1/3, mean of dimensional distances from the average somatotype to all somatotypes in the sample,difference between the two somatotypes in three-dimensional space, percentage of body fat and frequency distribution of each somatotype.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Height, body mass, upper arm circum ference, calf circumference, intracondylar diameters of humerus and femur,skinfold of brachial triceps, subscapular skinfold, skinfold of anterosuperior iliac spine, skinfold of gastrocnemius muscle.RESULTS: All the 408 children entered results analysis. ①Height and body mass of 7 to 10 year old children increased as age went up, indicators of Height/Weight1/3 of 7,8,10 year old girls were higher than boys, that of 9 years old boys was higber than girls, which were related to that the growth of height of 8 & 9 year old boys (5.61 cm) was more than girls (3.88 cm).The content of body fat of girls was more than boys. The 3 somatotype values were 3.2-3.9, 2.3-2.6 and 3.0-3.4 in boys and 3.5-4.6, 1.9-2.6 and 3.3-3.5 in girls, so endomorphic factor and ectomorphic factor were the main factors both in girls and boys, and endomorphic gene in girls was higher than boys, which indicated that the content of body fat of rural children in Hulutao city was relatively high, their bodies were finely high and thin, their skeletal muscle was not so muscular and the hypodermic fat in girls was more abundant. Seen from the comparison of somatotype between boys and girls in each age group, the differences between two somatotypes in the three dimensional space of 7-, 8-, 9-, 10-11 year old groups were 0.46, 0.68, 1.03 and 0.61 respectively, except 7-year old group, there were significant differences in somatotype of boys and girls between each age groups (P ＜ 0.01). ②The average value of somatotype of Han boys in rural area was 3.4-2.5-3.2, which belonged to medial type; that of girls was 4.0-2.3-3.4, which beglonged to ectomorphic endomorphic type. Endomorphic factor and ectomorphic factor were the dominant factors both in boys and girls, whereas mesomorphic factor was relatively low; the frequency of somatotype kept changing as the increase of age. ③Compared with the data at home and abroad, the endomorphic factor of the Han children in rural area in Huludao City was relatively high, while the mesomorphic factor was relatively low, and the ectomorphic factor was almost the same.CONCLUSION: The somatotype of Han children in rural area in Huludao City develops better. Their heights are tall, whereas their skeletal muscles are not so muscular. Somatotype development of children is diversified with age.

Objective To compare four methods of monitoring vascularization of tissue engineered bone in the rhesus so as to find our the best. Methods Twenty-five lower limbs of 13 rhesuses were used in this study to make models of tibial diaphyseal defect of 20mm which were to be fixed with an AO reconstruction plate of 7 holes. The monkeys were randomly divided into five groups according to defect filling materials: group A:?-tricalcium phosphate (?-TCP) and bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) and blood vessel bundles; group B:?-TCP and blood vessel bundles; group C:?-TCP and BMSCs; group D:?-TCP; group E: blank. Perfusion weighted MR imaging (PWMR), X-ray, radionuclide imaging and histological examinations were carried out at weeks 4, 8, 12 postop- eratively. The maximum slope rates of the single intensity-time curve (SS_(max)) and values of baseline (Sl_(?))were calculated at the same time points. Transmittances of the X-ray films were assessed. Ratios between isotope counts in region of interest (ROI) were calculated. Chinese ink perfusion and calculation of blood vessel areas were done for histological examinations, Results Compared with other groups, the SS_(max) in group A was the highest at weeks 4, 8, 12 postoperatively. In group A, the SS_(max) at week eight was significantly higher than that at week four (P= 0. 003), and the SS_(max) and transmittance of X-ray were negatively related at week 12 after operation (rs=-0. 892, P=0. 042), but the SS_(max) and blood vessel area were positively related (rs=0. 894, P=0.041)Conclusions PWMR can be a sensitive, quantitative, noninvasive and non-radiant method to monitor vascularization of tissue engineered bone, because SS_(max) of the single intensity-time curve of PWMR can reflect the most accurately the process of vascularization of tissue engineered bone.

Objective To study the relationship between cardiovascular diseases (CVD)and 24-h peritoneal protein losses (PPL) in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD)patients. Methods One hundred and seventy-eight CAPD patients in our department were enrolled in this study. Their 24-h PPL was measured and other clinical data were recorded at the beginning. Meanwhile, Doppler ultrasound examination was performed. They were then followed-up prospectively for the development of CVD. Results The average of 24-h PPL was (5.0±1.8) g.Patients with diabetic status or preexisting CVD or carotid arteries arteriosclerosis had higher 24-h PPL than those without (t=2.082, P=0.039; t=2.601, P=0.010; t=2.217, P=0.029). 24-h PPL was positively correlated with left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDd), interventricular septal thickness (IVSTd), posterior wall diameter of left ventricle at end-diastolic (LVPWd) and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) (r=0.222, P=0.040; r=0.217, P=0.043; r=0.339, P=0.002; r=0.305, P=0.007). It was negatively correlated with ejection fraction of left ventricle (r=0.221, P=0.040). One hundred and fourteen CAPD patients were prospectively followed-up for at least twelve months. Patients developing CVD were 40.4% and 19.3% for high and low PPL groups respectively (x2=6.035, P=0.014). In the multivariable logistic regression analysis, the 24-h PPL was one of the independent factors for developing CVD. Conclusions There is a significant and independent relationship between 24-h PPL and new cardiovascular events. 24-h PPL may be an important predictor of cardiovascular disease.

Objective To investigate the effect of hypoxic preconditioning on the biological function of bone mar-row-derived endothelial progenitor cells (BM-EPCs). Methods Mononuclear cells were collected by density gradient cen-trifugation from the bone marrow of rats. The isolated cells were cultivated in dishes coated with the vitronectin from rat plas-ma,filled with the endothelial cell basal medium-2. Cells were then cultured under the conventional culture conditions (37℃and 5%CO2). The cultured cells were divided into control group and hypoxia training group after four-day culture. Cells of the control group were cultured in previous conditions for another three days. However, cells of the hypoxia training groups were cultured in previous conditions for 0, 1 and 2 days,and then under the hypoxic condition (1%O2+5%CO2+94%N2) for another 72 hours, 48 hours and 24 hours, respectively. After seven days,cells in all of groups were collected for the following study. The immunofluorescence labeling and cell analyzer were used to indentify BM-EPCs. The tube formation of BM-EPCs was tested by Matrigel assay. Annexin V/PI antiapoptotic assay was used to detect the apoptotic rate of BM-EPCs. Results The early apoptotic rate of BM-EPCs was increased obviously with extended hypoxia. There was no significant dif-ference in the early apoptotic rate of BM-EPCs between control group (0.89±0.20)%and hypoxic 24-h group (1.33±0.07)%(P>0.05). There was significant increase in the early apoptotic rate of BM-EPCs in hypoxic 48-h group (3.25±0.12)%and hypoxic 72-h group (7.48 ± 1.53)%(P<0.05). Compare with control group, the tube formation ability was significantly in-creased in hypoxic 24-h group (P<0.01), but the tube formation ability was significantly decreased in hypoxic 48-h group and hypoxic 72-h group (P<0.01). Conclusion After hypoxic preconditioning for 24 hours, the apoptotic rate was not obvi-ous in BM-EPCs, but the tube formation ability was markedly increased.

Objective To evaluate the differences and consistency of different diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome ( MetS ) in adolescents. Methods This cross-sectional study enrolled 920 healthy middle school students (aged11-16years,53.2% males). All participants underwentant hropometric and biochemical examinations,andwere diagnosed as MetS separately using criterion of the Pediatric Academy of Chinese Medical Association ( abbreviated as Chinese criterion) , 2007 International Diabetes Federation criterion ( IDF criterion) , and Cook criterion based on the National Cholesterol Education Program-Adult Treatment Panel in 2003 ( Cook criterion) . Statistic analysis was used to compare the prevalence of MetS diagnosed and the individual MetS components detected by the different diagnostic criteria, and to evaluate the differences and consistency between the three criteria. Results The prevalence of MetS diagnosed with the Cook criterion (16. 2%) was significantly higher than that by the Chinese criterion(11. 0%) and the IDF criterion. The most frequently detected components were low high-density with the Chinese criterion and IDF criterion, hypertension with the Cook criterion. The least frequently detected component was hyperglycemia with each criterion. The consistency was found stronger between the Chinese and IDF criteria ( Kappa=0. 798-0. 829, P<0.01), but weak between the Cook and the other two criteria (Kappa=0. 465-0. 789,P<0. 01). The adolescents solely diagnosed as MetS patients by the Cook criterion but not the other two criteria had more central obesity, higher plasma glucose and lipid levels and HOMA insulin resistance index (all P<0. 05). Conclusion The prevalence of MetS and components diagnosed with the three criteria was evidently different. The Cook criterion may diagnose more adolescents with higher cardiovascular risks and insulin resistance.
