Objective To study the clinical significance of combined routine ultrasound and ultrasound elastography in diagnosing thyroid microcarcinoma so as to facilitate the diagnoses of the thyroid diseases of the pilot. Methods Totally 284 thyroid nodules with the sizes less than 1 cm underwent routine ultrasound and ultrasound elastography examinations from June 2013 to June 2016.Results There were 221 benign nodules (77.8%) and 63 malignant ones (22.2%) confirmed by FNAC cytological, surgical and pathological examinations.Of the 63 malignant nodules, there were 60 cases of thyroid papillary carcinoma, one case of follicular carcinoma and two cases of medullary carcinoma. There was significant difference between the strain ratios of the benign and malignant nodules (P<0.05),the ultrasound elastography scores of the benign nodules were statistically different from those of the malignant nodules (P<0.05).The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of ultrasound elastography were 90.3%,83.2% and 86.9% respectively when used to diagnose the thyroid nodule with the size less than 1 cm.Conclusion Routine ultrasound combined with ultrasound elastography can improve the diagnosis accuracy of small thyroid cancer, and is of great significance in early diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer of the pilot.

Objective To analyze the application and funding for projects in radiation oncology from National Natural Science Foundation of China ( NNSFC ) from 2006 to 2015. Methods To collect the funding information in radiation oncology from NNSFC from 2006 to 2015, a computerized search was performed in the ISIS system using a subject code of H1610 and a keyword of radiation oncology. Analyses were performed in distribution of research fields, the geographical distribution of applicants, and the properties of institutes/universities the applicants were affiliated with. Results In the last decade, a total of 435 projects in the field of radiation oncology were funded with 180 million yuan. Most projects were funded by general, youth, and regional foundation, which covered the highest proportion of NNSFC. For a single project, the amounts of funding from general, youth, and regional foundations were 530, 220, and 400 thousand yuan, respectively. The institutes/universities the NNSFC?funded projects were affiliated with were located quite close to each other. The top 10 institutes/universities in terms of the number of NNSFC?funded projects covered 53% of projects. In all projects, 88% studied basic science, which covered many hot topics in oncology including biological effects of radiotherapy, microenvironment, and stem cells. A small number ( 12%) of projects focused on physics. Top 3 cancers in terms of the number of projects and the amount of funding were lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and esophagus cancer. Conclusions In the last decade, the field of radiation oncology has stable increases in the number of NNSFC?funded projects and the amount of funding. The NNSFC?funded research teams are unevenly distributed, most of which are located in East China. The most popular topic in basic science studies is about biological effects of radiotherapy.

Objective To evaluate the regulatory effect of hydroxychloroquine on in vitro differentiation of regulatory T cells(Treg). Methods Fifteen milliliters of peripheral blood were obtained from a healthy human subject followed by isolation of monouclear cells and sorting of naive T cells. Then, the naive T cells were classified into two groups:control group cultured with the presence of tumor growth factor(TGF)?βand interleukin(IL)?2, experimental group cultured with the presence of 20μmol/L hydroxychloroquine and inducing factors. The number and percentage of CD4+Foxp3+Treg cells were determined by flow cytometry at days 0, 6, and 12. Results The number of Treg cells at days 0, 6, and 12 were(2 ± 0.4)× 104,(13.2 ± 5.2)× 104, and(143.5 ± 35.9)× 104 respectively in the control group, (2 ± 0.5)× 104,(2.4 ± 0.4)× 104, and(5.6 ± 3.5)× 104 respectively in the experimental group. There was a significant difference in the number of CD4+Foxp3+ Treg cells between the two groups at days 6 and 12 (t = 3.78 and 6.16, respectively, both P < 0.05). At day 12, the percentage of CD4 +Foxp3 + Treg cells was 79.7% ± 18.1% in the experimental group, compared to 16%± 13%in the control group(t=11.77, P<0.01). Conclusion Hydroxychloro?quine could inhibit the differentiation and proliferation of CD4+Foxp3+Treg cells in vitro.

0.05). Ac-cording to the classification criteria of ARIA in 2001, 26 children suffered from intermittent A(R22 mild cases,4 moderate-severe cases),while 22 suf-fered from persistent AR(10 mild cases,12 mod-erate-severe cases). Forty percent patients with AR also had bronchial asthma. Domestic decora-tion was an important factor in the induction of AR and 27.1% of the children with AR had inher-ent predisposition. CONCLUSION The prevalence rate of AR in children aged from 9 to 10 in Nanjing is 5.1 %. Strategy of prevention and treatment of AR should beworked out according to the epidemic feature of AR.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2003;0(10):-
Objective To observe the regulating effect of inhaling glucocorticoid on imbalance of IL-4/interferon-?(IFN-?) cytokines in children with first onset wheezing .Methods IL-4 and IFN-? levels were examined in separated serum of 60 children wheezing with first onset wheezing, they were divided into abnormal level of IL-4/IFN-? group (n=38) and normal level of IL-4/IFN-? group(n=22,group C) depending on the level of IL-4/IFN-?,and 38 cases with abnormal level of IL-4/IFN-? were randomly divided into group A and B.Group B and C were given routine treatment without intervening treatment, while group A inhaled beclomethasone dipropionate aerosols for 3 months after routine treatment.Twenty healthy children for routine physical examinations in the same period were selected as healthy control group, who were examined for IL-4 and IFN-? with the same methods. Results Before treatment, the levels of IL-4 and IL-4/IFN-? in group A and B were significantly higher than those in group C and healthy control group(Pa

This paper reported a new type of amylase (neoamylase) secreted by a Bacillus strain ZX99. The enzyme was a kind of ectoenzyme that could catalyze starch into isomalto-oligosaccharide effectively, but could not act on pullulan as substrate. The strain Bacillus ZX99 was mutated by ultraviolet ray and a mutant strain BS3.232 was screened. The activity of the neoamylase produced from BS3.232 increased by 60% over that from ZX99 under the same conditions. The results of thin-layer chromatography of products from starch and pullulan catalyzed by the enzyme demonstrated that the enzyme was different from neopullulanase and can be used to produce isomaltooligosaccharide from starch, including isomaltose, panose, isomaltotriose, isomaltotetose.
