Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2014;(3):224-226
Aiming at the cultivation of basic medical science talents, the paper introduced and summarized the background, characteristics and development trends (expand of the team, de-crease of the schooling and increase of the interdisciplinary course) of basic medical science major. Three cultivation models of this major in China were introduced and discussed in the article.

Objective To survey symptom occurrence degree of maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients, and its related factors, and to provide a basis for clinical symptom management. Methods A total of 142 MHD patients were selected with convenience sampling method from a hospital in Ningxia from July 2015 to September 2015 and investigated with the Dialysis Symptom Index ,the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the family Adaptation,Partnership,Growth,Affection and Resolve(APGAR)Scale. Results The occurrence rate of various symptoms ranged from 53.5%to 92.3%. Fatigue(92.3%),itching(86.6%)and dry skin(85.9%)were the top three prevalent symptoms. Fatigue (30.3%),difficulty falling asleep (27.5%),hyposexuality (27.5%) and trouble in sleeping deeply(27.5%)were the most serious symptoms.Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that gender, nationality, sleep quality, combining with hypertension and arrhythmia had significant influence on the occurrence degree of symptom in MHD patients(P < 0.05). Conclusion Symptoms in MHD patients are preva-lent. Efficient symptom management should be performed to improve the quality of life of MHDpatients.

Journal of China Medical University 2016;45(4):324-327
Objective To explore the effects of PP242 on the expression of apoptosis protein Bcl?2 in human lens epithelial cells(HLECs). Meth?ods Immortal HLECs SRA01/04 were cultured and treated with different concentrations of PP242. The cell growth was examined by MTT assay at 24 h and 48 h after PP242 treatment. Real?time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT?PCR)and Western blot were adopted to detect the mRNA and protein expression of Bcl?2 respectively. Results The cultured HLECs SRA01/04 were collected and treated with different concentra?tions(100,250,500,750,1 000,1 500 nmol/L)of PP242. After treatment for 24 h and 48 h,the inhibitory rate in each well was determined by MTT assay. The inhibition rate was as below,24 h:7.55%,9.43%,16.98%,22.64%,26.42%,30.19%;48 h:11.11%,23.81%,36.51%,42.86%, 49.21%,63.49%. Compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Compared with the control group(0 nmol/L),the expression of Bcl?2 protein was significantly decreased with the increasing concentrations of PP242(P<0.05),while the expression of Bcl?2 mRNA was inhibited by PP242 based on the results of RT?PCR. Compared with the control group(0 nmol/L),the RT?PCR results of Bcl?2 mRNA were 0.723±0.039,0.517±0.028,0.353±0.052,0.167±0.046,respectively(P<0.05). Conclusion PP242 could inhibit cell proliferation of HLECs in vitro with a concentration and time depended manner. Bcl?2 protein is expressed in HLECs,which could be down regulated by PP242 treatment.

Objective To investigate and analyze clinical researchers' knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) regarding ethical review and its correlation with KAP,which could provide foundation information for developing ethical review education programs for clinical researchers in future. Methods The random sampling method was used to stratify for different group by professional titles.Total 277 clinical researchers in a top class hospital in Beijing were investigated using self-developed questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS software. Results The average scores of clinical researchers' knowledge, attitude and practice about ethical review are 69.05,80.86,and 67.80 respectively. The correlation coefficient of knowledge and attitudes is 0.222 (P<0.05),the correlation coefficient of knowledge and practice is 0.544 (P<0.05),and the correlation coefficient of practice and attitudes is 0.351 (P<0.05).Conclusions Clinical researchers' knowledge about ethical review were at a relatively low level. And their practice about ethical review were not good enough. But their attitude towards learning ethical review was relatively good.It has suggested that more education and training programs on ethical review should be implemented for clinical investigators to improve their ethical literacy.
