Chinese Journal of Nephrology 2005;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the renal protection of Chinese cobra venoms (CCV) and its mechanism in renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R). Methods Thirty-two rats were divided into four groups. 0.1% CCV was separately infused into abdominal cavity at 0.5 h, 24 h before reperfusion in group Ⅰ and Ⅱ . Group Ⅲ suffered from kidney I/R was served as pathological control. Group Ⅳ was sham operation group. BUN and Scr were measured before ischemia and 24 h after reperfusion. Complement C3 was observed at 0, 0.5, 2, 24 h after reperfusion. The kidney samples were examined by HE stain under light microscopy. Apoptosis was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP-biotin in situ nick-end labeling(TUNEL). Results Significant histological damage, apoptosis of tubular cell and impaired renal function were found in group Ⅰ and Ⅲ.The above indexes decreased to a less extend in group Ⅱ (P

Chinese Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology 2015;(9):986-990
Purpose To study clinical pathological significance of the expression of PTEN, p53 and epidermal growth factor receptor ( EGFR) in breast carcinoma and their correlation. Methods Immunohistochemical MaxVision method was used to detect the expres-sion of PTEN, p53, EGFR in 209 cases of infiltrating ductal carcinoma of breast and 40 cases of benign breast diseases. Results The over-expression rate of PTEN, p53 and EGFR protein in breast carcinoma was 57. 9%, 55. 0% and 38. 3% respectively, which was significantly different from those in benign breast diseases (P<0. 05). The expression of PTEN, p53 and EGFR in breast cancer was correlated with tumor size, histological grade, lymph node metastasis, ER status, PR status and molecular subtype (P<0. 05). There was an association between PTEN or p53 and TNM stage, PTEN or EGFR and HER-2 status. There was a negative correlation in the protein expression of PTEN vs EGFR or PTEN vs p53 (P<0. 01). There was a positive correlation between EGFR and p53 protein ex-pression (P=0. 000). The expression of PTEN or EGFR was correlated with the prognosis of breast cancer, but not independent prog-nostic factors. The survival rate of patients with PTEN- /p53 + /EGFR+ was lower than those with other combined expression of PTEN/p53/EGFR (P=0. 008). Conclusions Low or loss expression of PTEN, p53 mutation and EGFR over-expression may be coordinate-ly involved in the pathogenesis and progression of breast cancer. The combined detection of these markers may play an important role in making treatment and indicating prognosis for breast cancer patients.

Objective To observe the effects of velcade on inflammatory reaction and cell apoptosis after ischemia-reperfusion injury, and to explore the neuroprotective mechanism of velcade. Methods The 15 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham-operated group, physiological saline control group and velcade-treated group (n= 5, each). The model of temporary middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was applied and reperfused after 2 hours. Immediately after the reperfusion, all rats were performed intraperitoneal injection with velcade 0. 2 mg/kg in velcadetreated group, and with the same volume of physiological saline in control group. After 24 hours, the rats were decapitated in all groups. The apoptosis cells were found by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and the expressions of nuclear factor-κBp65 (NF-κBp65) and interleukinh-1β (IL-1β) were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The immunologically positive cells of NF-κBp65, IL-1β and apoptosis cells were occasionally found in shamoperated group [(1.21 ± 0. 16)/400 power, (11.56 ± 0. 99)/400 power and (2. 88 ± 0. 27)/400 power], while a lot of immunologically positive cells of NF-κBp65, IL-1β and apoptosis cells were found in velcade-treated group and control group. The control with compared group, these cells were significantly more in the velcade-treated group [(56.28± 1.95)/400 power vs. (29. 76±2.53)/400 power, (47. 64±2.06)/400 power vs. (29.6±1. 61)/400 power and (51. 05±4. 23)/400 power vs.(33.44±2.06)/400 power, all P<0. 05]. Conclusions The velcade could decrease the expressions of the NF-κBp65 and IL-1β and diminish the neuronal apoptosis. The neuroprotective mechanism of velcade may lie in decreasing apoptosis through inhibiting inflammation.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2010;18(6):330-333
Objective To investigate the prevalence of undernutrition, nutritional risks, and the application of nutrition supports in different hospitals in Shandong province, and to estimate the related complication rate. Methods Totally 2792 patients from different hospitals in Shandong were enrolled, and their nutritional risks were assessed using Nutritional Risk Screening (NRS) 2002. The application of nutritional supports, the length of hospital stay, and the incidences of infectious and non-infectious complications were documented. Results The incidences of undernutrition and nutritional risk among patients in large hospitals were significantly higher than those in middle and small hospitals (5.6%, 1.6%, 2. 7%; 27.3%, 15.4%, 18.3%; P =0. 000). The overall rate of nutritional support was 43. 60%, and there were significant difference among patients in different hospitals (51.5 %, 30. 8 %, 20.9 %, P = 0. 000). Parenteral nutrition was most widely applied. Among the 483 patients in large hospitals, the incidence of complication in patients with nutritional risks was significantly higher than those without nutritional risks (31.3% versus 13.7%, P =0. 000). Of the "with nutritional risk" patients, the infectious complications were significantly lower in the nutritional support group (P = 0. 000). Of the patients without nutritional risks, there was no statistical difference between the nutritional support group and the non-support group. (P > 0. 05). Conclusions NRS 2002 is a useful tool for the assessment of nutritional status among inpatients. Proper nutritional support can reduce the incidence of complications for patients with nutritional risks.

AlM: To explore the clinical significances and changes of related parameters of corneal endothelial cell in keratouveitis patients before and after treatment.
METHODS:Fifty-two keratouveitis patients ( 52 eyes ) diagnosed and treated in our hospital from October 2012 to December 2013 were collected. Before and after treatment, the related parameters of corneal endothelial cell in all patients were measured with non - contact corneal specular microscope and these parameters were statistically analyzed.
RESULTS: Compared with the normal group, obvious endothelial cell edema and great variation was observed in diseased group. The shorter duration of treatment, the better the recovery of endothelial cells and the fewer cells lose. Conversely, the longer the healing of normal hexagonal cell ratio was smaller, the larger the coefficient of variation. Before and after treatment, the differences of each parameter were statistical significance (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: The functional recovery of corneal endothelial cell has directly relation with disease times.

OBJECTIVETo explore the analgesic effect and action mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) on gastric ulcer rats with liver-depression syndrome.
METHODSThrough open-field experimental method, 45 qualified SPF-grade male SD rats were selected and divided into a blank group, a model group and an EA group according to random number table method, 15 rats in each group. The model of gastric ulcer rats with liver-depression syndrome was established in the model group and the EA group by using chronic unpredictable stimulation combined with acetic acid burning method. Rats in the blank group did not receive intervention. Rats in the model group were treated with fixation and immobilization for 13 days. Rats in the EA group were treated with EA at "Liangqiu" (ST 34) and "Ganshu" (BL 18); EA voltage was 2 V; disperse-dense wave was selected with 4 Hz of disperse wave and 15 Hz of dense wave, and the intensity of EA was according to the slight vibration of local skin and; muscles; the needles were retained for 20 min, once a day for consecutive 6 days; there was an interval of 1 day' and the treatment was given for 2 weeks. The general condition, open-field experimental result and gastric ulcer index were observed; the western blotting method was applied to measure the expression of vanilloid receptor subtype 1 (VR1) in hypothalamus and gastric antral mucosal, and ELISA method was applied to test the expression of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) in hippocampus.
RESULTSAfter model establishment, the general behavior condition in the model group was inferior to that in the blank group, which was obviously improved after EA. The range of motion in the model group was less than that in the blank group (P<0.01) while that in the EA group was higher than that in the model group (P<0.01). The ulcer inhibition rate was. 54.95%, and the ulcer index in the EA group was lower than that in the model group (P<0.01). Compared with; the blank group, the expression of VR1 in hypothalamus and gastric antral mucosal in the model group was increased (P<0.05); compared with the model group, the expression of VR1 in the EA group was reduced (P<0.05). Compared with the blank group, the expression of 5-HT an NE in hippocampus in the model group was significantly reduced (both P<0.01); compared with the model group, the expression of 5-HT and NE in the EA group was increased (both P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONEA at "Liangqiu" (ST 34) and "Ganshu" (BL 18) has certain analgesic effect in gastric ulcer rats with liver-depression syndrome, which is likely to be related with lowering the contents of VR1 in hypothalamus and gastric antral mucosal and increasing the content of 5-HT and NE in hippocampus.
