Objective:To study the morphological characteristics of temporo-mandibular joint with high angle vertical skeletal pattern in adult females with class II skeletal type.Methods:41 CBCT films of adult females (20 normal controls;21 skeletal class II high angle subjects)were collected.The position of and form of condyle,form of fossa and joint spaces were measured by Mimics 17.0 soft-ware.Results:Compared with the control group the condyles in high angle patients located more posterior.The joint fossae were lower. The angles of posterior joint node bevels were smaller.The condyles were shorter,thinner and tipped more anteriorly.The position of the conyles were more anteriorly.Conclusion:Class II skeletal type adult females with high vertical skeletal patterns have different forms of fossae,different positions and forms of condyle compared with the normal controls.

Objective To investigate the risk factors of dual anti-platelet treatment in upper gastrointestinal hemor-rhage after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods Clinical data of 2004 PCI patients with dual anti-platelet treatment were collected,including gender,age,body mass index (BMI),history of drug therapy, history of digestive disease, history of smoking and drinking,history of hypertension,history of diabetes,history of cerebrovascular disease and history of combined treatment with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). The different characteristics of gastrointestinal bleeding were com-pared. The risk factors of upper gastrointestinal bleeding were analyzed. Results The risk factors for PCI patients with up-per gastrointestinal bleeding were age>65 years of old, history of smoking, history of hypertension,abnormal platelet count, creatinine and hemoglobin. The combined treatment with a proton pump inhibitor was a protective factor associated with gas-trointestinal bleeding. Conclusion We should pay attention to the upper gastrointestinal bleeding induced by dual anti-platelet treatment, and take appropriate measures to reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding in PCI patients.

Objective To analyze the correlation between the diagnosis and treatment and the postoperative death and complication of the elderly patients.Methods A total of 1 932 cases of surgical patients (over 70 years old) were collected from a three-level general hospital 2013-2015.Their medical information of the treatment methods were recorded,including incision category,surgical approach,surgical grade and patient outcome after surgery(death or postoperative complications).Then we analyzed the incidence of death or postoperative complications,as well as the effects of treatment and postoperative outcome on complications or mortality.Results The admission status and incision type were the risk factors of postoperative death in elderly patients.Admission status pollution type,surgical approach and surgical grade were the risk factors of postoperative complications.Conclusion In order to reduce the risk of postoperative death and complications in elderly patients,the effect of admission and incision on the postoperative risk of elderly patients should be evaluated.

Objective: To observe the efficacy of mirtazapine in the treatment of depression after cerebral infarction and its effect on rehabilitation of neurological functions. Methods:117 patients with acute cerebral infarction comorbid with major depression were randomly allocated to two groups treated with mirtazapine (57 cases) or not (60 cases). Hamiltion Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), Zung's Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS), modified Edingburgh-Scandinavian Stroke Scale (SSS) and Activity of Daily Living(ADL) were measured at baseline, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 6 months after randomization.Results:At the end of 6 months trial, the effective rate for depression of mirtazapine group was 100%, including 41 with relief (41/57, 71.9%); while that of control group was 13.4% (3/60), with only 4 with relief (6.7%). For neurological function, 78.9% (45) patients in mirtazapine group had significant improvement, that number in control group was 31 (51.7%). From the third week, patients in mirtazapine group had better ADL results than baseline (31.2?11.2/39.2?15.8), at the end of 6 months, their activity of daily life was much better than that of control (15.7?5.4/21.8?9.7, t=4.17,P

Objective: To reconstruct a substractive complementary deoxyribornucleic acid (cDNA) library of genes sensitive to mechanical stretch in human osteoblast like cells.Methods: Mechanical stretch at 12 cycles per minute was applied to human osteoblast like cells Saos-2 and the deformation of the stretched cells was 12%. Twelve hours after loading, mRNAs were isolated from both stretched and unstretched cells. Substractive cDNA library of the genes sensitive to stretch was constructed with the technique based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and substractive hybridization. Primary sequencing of clones in the library was carried out. Results: A substractive cDNA library of genes sensitive to stretch was constructed with a capacity of about 200 clones. According to the results of sequencing, most genes in the library were related to the mechanical stimulation. One novel gene fragment was obtained. Conclusion: The method used in the experiment is effective in cloning genes sensitive to mechanical stretch.

The molecular delivery vectors used in gene therapy need provide the features of safety,stability, efficiency and capacity. The current studies on the structure and action mechanism of pRNA, a packaging RNA of phage?29, showed that pRNA with multiple binding sites can through cell membrane easily and escort exogenous molecules to target cell, without inducing immune reaction. As an ideal nano-scale gene therapy vehicle, pRNA presents a promising application in delivering multiple therapeutic components to detect and treat human diseases.

Objective To expore the effect of nerve repair for patients with traumatic suprascapular nerve combined with axillary nerve injuries.Methods Data of 13 cases with traumatic suprascapular nerve combined axillary nerve injuries treated by surgery from June 2003 to September 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.All the cases were males,and the average age was 28 years old.There were 2 cases of neck of scapula fracture combined with clavicle fracture,3 of floating shoulder injury,1 of humerus neck fracture combined with glenoid cavity fracture,3 of clavicle fracture,1 of acromion fracture,2 of shoulder blade fracture and 1 of atlanto-axial vertebral fractures.All the 13 cases performed isolated lost of the function of shoulder abduction and external rotation completely,and the muscle strength of deltoid,the supraspinatus and infraspinatus was M0.The electrophysiological examination showed complete denervation of axillary nerve and suprascapular nerve.The suprascapular nerve was broken in 10 cases in which 6 cases were repaired by 1 band sural nerve graft and 1 case was repaired by 1 band superficial cervical plexus,and 3 cases were irreparable because of the distal avulsion injury from the target muscle,and 3 cases were performed with neurolysis.The axillary nerve ruptured in 12 cases,in which 10 cases was repaired by 2-3 bands sural nerve graft,and fascicles selected from the median nerve were used to neurotize axillary nerve in 2 cases.The neurolysis of axillary nerve was performed at the quadrilateral space in 1 case.10 of the 13 cases had both the suprascapular nerve and axillary nerve ruptured.Results 13 cases were followed up,the follow up period was 36 to 134 months.In 7 cases,the functional recovery of shoulder abduction were 180° and the average external rotation was 56° and the muscle strength of deltoid attained M4.In 5 cases,the average shoulder abduction was 38°;the range of external rotation was-40°-30°,and the muscle strength of deltoid achieved M4 in 1 case,M3 in 2,M2 in 2.There was no improvement in 1 case.Conclusion The suprascapular nerve associated axillary nerve injury should be suspected in the patients with isolated lost the function of shoulder abduction and extemal rotation completely.Repair of axillary nerve and suprascapular nerve by nerve graft simultaneously could achieve good outcome,and early surgery should be conducted.
