The present study reported that 5srRNA from reticulocytes of rabbit could pass into the nucleus of mouse myeloma cells SP2/0,and in the mean time DNA synthesis and cells division were markedly suppressed. In a separate experiment, the rRNA was extracted from embryonic liver and erythrocytes of rabbit or rat and analysed by agarose electrophoresis method. The result indicated that the amount of 5srRNA in various period of the development of erythrocyte is changed along with denucleation process. Thus it is likely that 5srRNA of mammalian erythrocyte plays a role in reversing malignant phenotype of tumor cells and promoting denucleation of mammalian erythrocyte through inhibiting DNA synthesis.

Objective To study the relationship between serum 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level and inflammatory factor in elderly primary hypertension patients. Methods Sixty -eight primary hypertension patients were selected as hypertension group, and 60 healthy subjects were selected as control group in this study. The serum 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level and plasma inflammatory factor were measured and compared. Results The serum 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level in the hypertension group was significantly lower, while plasma inflammatory factor in the hypertension group was significantly higher than in the control group(t =6.445,7.326,8.174,8.556,all P <0.01).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the serum 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level was negatively related with systolic blood pressure, plasma diastolic blood pressure and inflammatory factor (r =-0.425, -0.367, -0.254, -0.263, -0.296,all P <0.05).Logistic repression analysis revealed that the inflammatory factor was a risk factor for hypertension, while the 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level was a protecting factor for primary hypertension. Conclusion The serum 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level is significantly lower in elderly primary hypertension patients than in healthy subjects. The serum 1,25 -dihydroxy vitamin D3 level and the inflammatory factor are predic-tive factors for hypertension.

Objective To study the effect of 2?-(3-hydroxypropoxy)-Calcitriol (ED-71) on the cell growth and differentiation of human osteoblast-like cell line OS-732. Methods Osteoblast-like cells were cultured with various concentration of ED-71.The effects of ED-71 on proliferation and differentiation were detected by (MTT), alkaline phosphatase activity and level of osteocalcin (bone gla protein,BGP). Results The proliferation rate of osteoblast-like cells cultured for 4 days was significantly inhibited by 10~ -7mol/L concentration of ED-71. ED-71 in 10~ -8, 10~ -9mol/L concentration can significantly increase BGP level, but ED-71 in 10~ -7mol/L concentration may decrease BGP level.Alkaline phosphatase activity compared with control was not changed significantly. Conclusions ED-71 can inhibit cell growth in high concentration and improve cell differentiation in lower concentration.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between salivary proteome and dental caries and to promote the biomarker studies of dental caries susceptibility by comparing the salivary proteome of caries-active children and caries-free children with electrospray ionization ion-trap tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS).
METHODSTen caries-active children and ten caries-free children were sampled. The salivary proteome of the two groups was studied, and the differential protein between the two groups was analyzed by ESI-MS/MS after sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, filter-aided sample preparation, and liquid chromatography.
RESULTSThe concentration of salivary protein was higher in the caries-active group than in the caries-free group. The polypeptide counts of thecaries-active and caries-free groups were 602 and 481, which belonged to 286 and 227 proteins, respectively. The differential polypeptide count of the two groups was 361, and the differential protein count was 118. The detected proteins included matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9), mucin-7 (MUC7), lactotransferrin (LTF), carbonic anhydrase 6 (CA6), azurocidin (AZU), and cold agglutinin.
CONCLUSIONThe total salivary protein was higher in the caries-active group than in the caries-free group. The preliminary detection of differential proteins (MMP9, MUC7, LTF, CA6, AZU, and cold agglutinin) may lay some foundation for biomarker research of dental caries susceptibility.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(10):-
The IgG binding domain of Streptococcal Protein G which can selectively immobilizes the Fc regions of immunoglobulin G(IgG) is a kind of good material for oriented immobilization of antibodies in antibody microarrays. Here, genetically engineered three glutathione S-transferase(GST) fused proteins, bearing one,two and three B-Domains respectively(GST-GBx).The IgG-bindding ability of GST-GBx was investigated by ELISA.The data revealed that when the B-domain's quantity of GST-GBx is identical, the GST-GB3 is the most efficient protein among three GST-GBx protein both the capacity and sensibility of binding IgG.The GST-GB2 is the next one and GST-GB1 is the least one. Thus, the GST-GB3 has significantly predominance in comparison to GST-GB2 and GST-GB1.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease, which is characterized by synovial inflammation. Hyperplasia sublining macrophages found in synovium is an early hallmark of RA and effective treatment results in their diminution. However, the origin of these sublining macrophages in synovium (including infiltrated macrophages and tissue-resident macrophages) are still unknown both in animal models of arthritis and RA patients, let alone the differences and feature of these macro?phages. In rheumatic synovium, macrophages are submitted to a large variety of micro-environmental signals which influence the phenotypic polarization and activation of macrophages. Understanding the mechanisms and functional consequences of the heterogeneous macrophages will contribute to confirm their potential role in synovial inflammation development. Furthermore, research on macrophage plasticity to soft-control their phenotypic polarization could lead to novel therapeutic approaches.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of fractionated ultrapulse carbon dioxide laser combined with microneedle for depressed acne scars. Methods Totally 86 patients with depressed acne scar were randomly divided into 2 groups:the treatment group received fractionated ultrapulse carbon dioxide laser combined with microneedle technology and the control group only received fractionated ultrapulse carbon dioxide laser. The treatment interval was 1 to 3 months, and the whole course was 2-8 times. The total effective rate and the adverse reaction were analyzed in the facial acne scar. Results The surface of depressed acne scars was significantly improved.ECCA score of all patients declined obviously after treatment, the score of the treatment group declined from 61± 11 to 45± 15,and the control group declined from 57± 14 to 40± 16.There were significantly statistical differences in the results of each group (P<0.05).More treatment times resulted in better surface improvement. The total effective rate were 81.8% (18/22) and 100% (24/24) in the treatment group, and 80.0% (16/20) and 100% (20/22) in the control group. The course was 6.8± 1.6 months in the treatment group and 20.8±4.6 months in the control group (P<0.05) to get a similar satisfied result. There were no obvious adverse reactions except two cases of erythema and pigmentation in the treatment group and 5 cases in the control group. The former was with less adverse reactions. Conclusions Ultrapulse carbon dioxide laser combined with microneedle technique is effective for facial acne scars, with less complications and shorten treatment course.
