Chinese Medical Ethics 1994;0(05):-
The natural process of life and death has been profoundly and widely involved and increasingly manipulated by the fast developed technology of life science, which could change the human beings' state of life as well as the state of death. Thus, human beings are motivated to think multidimensionally on life and death from the perspective of science, such as the weakening of sacredness of life, the technology employed in life, the socialization of lifestyles, the exploration of the nature of death, the pluralism of different ways of death and the systematization in the education of death. These considerations will no doubt contribute to the mutual promotion of the development of morality and the advancement of life science technology.

BACKGROUND:Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ and Ⅱ made by ourselves are effective in treating bone fracture complicated by soft tissue injury. However, its mechanism is still unclear.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition on the levels of intedeukin 1β(IL-1β) and interleukin 6(IL-6) in serum of patients with closed bone injury-induced soft tissue injury.DESIGN:Randomized controlled observation.SETTING:Wards of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the 401 Hospital of Chinese PLA.PARTICIPANTS: Eighty-eight inpatients with bone fracture at early and moderate stages accompanied by soft tissue injury were chosen as volunteers to be studied in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the 401 Hospital of Chinese PLA between February 2000 and February 2002.The involved inpatients were assigned into 2 groups according to the table of random digit:Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ + Ⅱ group (n=45) and Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ group (n=43).Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ was for internal administration, and Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ was for external fumigation.METHODS:①Treatment of bone injury:Both caltrate D pellets and pills for strengthening bone joints were used in two groups.②Treatment of soft tissue injury: In the Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ+ Ⅱ group,Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ was decocted. Each decoction was 450 mL,and was packed into 3 pouches, 150 mL/pouch,three times a day;Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ was decocted. Each decoction was 600 mL,and was packedinto 4 Douches,150 mL/pouch.Four pouches of Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ was diluted by 2 000 mL water, then heated and used for fume-washing, twice a day, 20 to 30 minutes once. Four pouches could be used for fume-washing for 2 days successively. In the Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong compositionⅡgroup, only Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ was used to fume-wash the lesioned region. The concrete method was the same as that in the Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ+Ⅱ group. In each group, ten days were set as one course of treatment, and totally, there are 2 courses of treatment.IL-1β and IL-6 levels in serum of patients were detected by with ELISA kit before.one and two courses after treatment, and compared separately.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in serum of patients in two groups before, one and two courses after treatment.RESULTS: In the eingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ+Ⅱ group, the level of IL-1β and IL-6 was respectively significantly lower after 2 courses of treatment as compared with the previous one and one course after treatment (P<0.05-0.01), also at the same time point in compared with the Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ group (P<0.05).In addition, in the Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ+Ⅱ group, the level of IL-1β and IL-6 was respectively significantly decreased after one course of treatment as compared with before treatment (P<0.05). In the Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅱ group, after 2 courses of treatment, the level of IL-1β was significantly decreased as compared with before treatment, and the level of IL-β was also significantly decreased as compared with before treatment and after one course of treatment (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Qingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ+Ⅱ can be used to treat bone fracture accompanied by soft tissue injury by inhibiting the levels of IL-1β and IL-6. The effect of the combination of Oingre Huoxue Xiaozhong composition Ⅰ and Ⅱ is superior to that of each alone.

Chinese Circulation Journal 2017;32(4):318-321
Objective: To compare short-term efficacy of enhanced phase-I cardiac rehabilitation and ordinary phase-Ⅰ cardiac rehabilitation in patients after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods: A total of 254 patients received CABG in our hospital from 2015-07 to 2015-10 were enrolled including 196 male and 58 female at the mean age of (59.92±7.80) years. Relevant health education was conducted and echocardiography, emotion, grip strength were assessed before operation. Based on personal aspiration, the patients were assigned to 2 groups at the 1st day after CABG: Enhanced phase-I cardiac rehabilitation (Enhanced) group, the patients received every day one to one training by physical therapist for 7 days and Ordinary phase-I cardiac rehabilitation (Ordinary) group, the patients received unified instruction by physical therapist prior operation. Relevant parameters were compared between 2 groups at 1 week post-operation which were mainly focused on left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), emotional assessment as health questionnaire 9-items (PHQ-9), generalized anxiety disorder 7-items (GAD-7) and grip strength. Results: Before operation: LVEF, PHQ-9 scores, GAD-7 scores and grip strength were similar between 2 groups.1 week post-operation: compared with Ordinary group, Enhanced group had the higher LVEF (62.88±5.21) % vs (59.00±9.83) %, P<0.05; Enhanced group showed slightly lower PHQ-9, GAD-7 scores and slightly higher grip strength without statistic meaning. Conclusion: Enhanced phase-I cardiac rehabilitation presented slight superiority as improved LVEF which implied that even 1 week specific training may benefit CABG patients.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2001;14(3):229-231
Objectives:To discuss and analyse the causes of local recurrence after Dixon operation. Methods:Retrospective analysis was made on 72 cases after resection of rectal cancer by Dixon operation in our department from 1995 to 1999. Results:The local recurrence rate after Dixon operation was 12.5%(9 cases),the recurrence time was 3~26 months, and 16.2 months in an average after the operation.Seven cases of recurrence were within 2 years. The recurrence location occurred at the anastomotic stoma (6 cases),pelvic cavity (2 cases) and the perinum (1 cases) respectively.Based on Dukes classification, it showed one case of phase A, three cases of phase B and five cases of phase C.According to pathological classification, there were one case of papillary adenocarcinoma, five cases of rubiformadenocarcinoma and three cases of mucoid adenocarcinoma.A length from the lower margin of the tumors to the distal resection site, seven cases were within 3 cm,and two cases were beyond 3 cm. Conclusions:The causes for local recurrence after operation were related to Duke classification, pathological types, length from the lower margin of the tumors to the distal resection site, lymphadenectomy and operation on the tumor itself.
