Objective To verify the clinical applicability of the published standard intervals of routine clinical chemistry (WS/T404 .1‐2012 ,WS/T404 .2‐2012) based on the health examination results of Han and Uygur populations in Urumqi .Methods This was a retrospective study .The results of serum TP ,ALB ,ALT ,AST ,ALP ,GGT from healthy examination individuals of Han and Uygur populations (from 2013 August to 2015 January) were collected and the healthy cases (age range:20 -79 years old) were chosen to calculate the 2 .5% and 97 .5% percentiles ,excluding the significant abnormal results according to the Medical Deciding Level 2 recommended by Staland .The percents of health cases not falling in the published standard interval were calculated to meet the judgment criterion of verification (<10% ) .Results The test of normality revealed that the Han and Uygur's results of all veri‐fied items were skewed distributions .The 2 .5% and 97 .5% percentiles of the results of two populations were as follows ,TP(Han 65 -81 g/L ;Uygur 64-81 g/L) ,ALB(Han 41-53 g/L ;Uygur 40-52 g/L) ,ALT(Han:male 9-51 U/L and female 7-42 U/L ;Uygur:male 9-53 U/L and female 6-43 U/L) ,AST(Han:male 14-42 U/L and female 12-37 U/L ,Uygur:male 12-42 U/L and female 12-38 U/L) ,ALP(Han:male 45-119 U/L ;Uygur:male 47-122 U/L) ,ALP(female 20-49 years old:Han 35-95 U/L and Uygur 40-104 U/L) ,ALP(female 50-79 years old:Han 43-131 U/L and Uygur 51-132 U/L) ,GGT(Han:male 11-71 U/L and female 8-54 U/L ;Uygur :male 11 -73 U/L and female 7 -55 U/L ) .The percents of AST results for Han's male , Uygur's male and Uygur's female not falling in the published standard reference interval were slightly over 10% ,but AST results o‐ver 10% were mainly under the lower limit of the published standard reference interval .The health case percents for the other veri‐fied items of Han and Uygur populations not falling in the published standard reference interval were under 10% .Conclusion The published standard reference intervals of routine clinical chemistry (WS/T404 .1‐2012 ,WS/T404 .2‐2012) are applicable in our la‐boratory for the detection of Han and Uygur population .
4.Advance in modern studies on compatibility of Coptidis Rhizoma and Evodiae Fructus.

In traditional clinical application, Coptidis Rhizome and Evodiae Fructus have been combined to treat various stomach heat and cold syndromes, gastritis, gastric ulcer and the like. With the application of modem instruments and the development of molecular pharmacologic theory, their chemical constituents and pharmacological effects have been sufficiently studied. In this paper, literatures from Pubmed were adopted, with particular emphasis on findings of international counterparts and studies on compatibility of main chemical components in Coptidis Rhizoma and Evodiae Fructus, in order to elaborate on the scientific comparability of Coptidis Rhizoma and Evodiae Fructus through chemical analysis, and pharmacological and biopharmaceutics studies and introduce the future development trend of the studies.

5.Cardioprotective effects of ischemic post-conditioning in the elderly with acute myocardial reperfusion injury

ObjectiveTo study the cardioprotective effects of ischemic post-conditioning on elderly patients with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEM1).MethodsConsecutive 215 patients with STEMI undergoing emergency percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) were randomly assignedto receive ischemicpost-conditioningorconventional PCItreatment.The ischemic postconditioning (n=38) were conducted by 3 episodes of 30-second occlusion followed by 30-second reperfusion, while the control group (n= 46) was without any intervention after PCI.Reperfusion arrhythmias, corrected TIMI frame count (cTFC) and TIMI myocardial perfusion grade (TMPG)were compared between the two groups, respectively.Results The incidence of reperfusion arrythmias was less frequent in ischemic postconditioning group (21.1% ,8/38) than in control group (45.7% ,21/46) after PCI (x2 = 5.571, P<0.05). The TIMI grade 3 flow was similar between two groups [(94.7%(36/38) vs. 82.6%( 38/46), x2= 2.919, P>0.05], the cTFC levels (23.6±3.7vs. 26.1 ±5.9) and TMPG 3 perfusion [ 89.5% (34/38) vs.69.6% (32/46)] were significantly different (t= 5.434, P<0.05; x2 = 4.899, P<0.05, respectively) between two groups.ConclusionsIschemic postconditioning may reduce myocardial reperfusion injury in elderly patients with STEMI undergoing emergent PCI.
6.The effect of high voltage alternating electric field therapy on fracture healing

Objective To explore the effect of high voltage alternating electric field therapy on fracture healing in rats. Methods An animal model of cortical bone defect was successfully established in the unilateral proximal tibia of 41 rats.They were then randomized into an experimental group (21 rats) and a control group (20 rats).The animals in the experimentsl group were given high voltage alternating electric field therapy for 30 minutes daily,while those in the control group only had sham exposure to the high voltage alternating electric field therapy.Rats in each group were sacrificed at days 7,14,21 and 28 post-operation.After blood collection,the operated tibias of the rats were resected with muscle and other soft tissue removed.Bone mineral density (BMD) of the callus at the fracture point was measured using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA).The calluses were then cut down and fixed,decalcificated and sliced for histological observation.At the same time serum osteocalcin ( OC ) and bone alkaline phosphatase (RAP) were also detected by ABC-ELISA. Results The BMD examination showed that callus BMD in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the control group at days 14 and 28.Serum OC and RAP in the experimental group were also higher at days 14 day 21,and OC was still significantly higher in the experimental group at day 28.Histological examination showed that in the early stages of bone healing hematoma absorption and organization appeared earlier in the experimental group than in the control group,with remarkable osteoblast and chondroblast proliferation.While at the later stage,bone trabeculas connection and mineralization also appeared earlier in the experimental group than in the control group. Conclusions High voltage alternating electric field therapy may promote fracture healing by accelerating hematoma absorption and organization,elevating osteoblast proliferation and differentiation as well as promoting extracellular matrix secretion and mineralization.The underlying therapeutic mechanism might be related to the increased expression of OC and RAP caused by exposure to the high voltage alternating electric field.
7.Altered whole brain functional connectivity in patients with minimal hepatic encephalopathy: a resting-state functional MRI study

Objective To investigate the alteration of the whole brain functional connectivity in patients with minimal hepatic encephalopathy(MHE) by using resting-state functional MRI,and to explore its role in distinguishing the MHE from cirrhotic patients without MHE by using the receiver operator characteristic(ROC) curve.Methods Thirty cirrhotic patients with MHE,32 cirrhotic patients without MHE (non-MHE),and 49 healthy controls underwent standard resting-state functional MRI scan.Whole brain functional connectivities were compared with analysis of variance test to observe the difference among three groups,and then compared with Post-hoc test to investigate the changes between MHE and non-MHE groups.Results There were widespreadly different functional connectivities among three groups.All 115 functional conenctivities showed significant difference among three groups(all P<0.05).Compared with non-MHE patients,MHE patients showed 6 decreased functional connectivity in the following brain regions (P<0.05):between left supper temporal gyrus-right orbitofrontal cortex,left Heschl's gyrus-left Rolandic operculum,left Heschl's gyrus-right olfactory cortex,left hippocampus-right amygdala,left putamen-right putamen,and left temporal pole of supper temporal gyrus-right temporal pole of middle temporal gyrus (t=-4.41-3.82,P<0.01).ROC analysis demonstrated that the left hippocampus-right amygdala had the highest value for differentiating MHE from non-MHE group(AUC=0.78,95%CI 0.66-0.90) with a cutoff value=0.56,sensitivity=73% and specificity=81%).Conclusion Functional connectivity analysis can be used to observe the functional changes in MHE patient,and has a potential for the early diagnosis of MHE.
8.Application of electromyographic biofeedback training in the treatment of urinary incontinence

Objective To study effect of eleetromyograghie(EMG) biofeedback training on three kinds of u- rinary ineontifienee.Methods Nineteen patients with urinary incontinence were treated by means of EMG biofeed- back training twice a day for six weeks.The treatment was performed with a device,which can detect the EMG ampli- tude of the pelvic muscle and deliver electric stimulation accordingly.Results After 6 weeks of treatment,the inci- dence of uretbrorrhea was reduced by 41%,and the frequency of micturition was decreased by 38% ,while the fre- quency of urination in one day reduced to 9 to 13.The general subjectively rated improvement rate of patients was 53% ,while the general objectively one was 58%.Conclusion Biofeedback training has significant therapeutic: eftects on patients with urinary incontinence.
9.Application value of single intensifying screen cassette in examination of Kashin-Beck disease through X-ray photographing

Objective To explore the application value of single intensifying screen cassette in examination of Kashin-Beck disease through X-ray photographing.Methods Single intensifying screen cassette and traditional changing bag with exposure conditions were used to check right wrists of 110 children in Kashin-Beck disease areas.The FJ personal dosimeter was used to measure exposure dose.Photo graphing quality and diagnosis effect were assessed.Results The radiation dose of children in single intensifying screen cassette group was (207 ± 39)μsv/h,while in the traditional changing bag group was (1425 ± 63)μsv/h.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(t =140.16,P < 0.05).The high-quality photograph rate of the two methods was 94.55% (104/110) and 92.73% (102/110),respectively,and the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The good photo rate in the single intensifying screen cassette was 96.36% (94/110),which was significantly higher than that of the traditional changing bag group[44.55% (49/110),x2 =70.92,P < 0.01].Conclusions X-ray radiation dose in single intensifying screen cassette group is smaller than that of the traditional changing bag group,and the image quality of the radiograph of the new method is also superior.It has a good practical value in the X-ray examination of Kashin-Beck disease.
