China Biotechnology 2006;0(08):-
Because the biology characteristic of HIV is extremely different from that of other microorganisms, HIV vaccine research has being faced with unprecedented difficulties and challenges. In the last 20 years, HIV vaccine research has been carried out mainly with two strategies, i.e., neutralizing antibody based and cellular immunization based; however, substantive breakthroughs haven't been achieved until now. Inducing effective neutralizing antibody is always an important strategy in traditional vaccine research, but this strategy is much less efficient in HIV vaccine research because of high variation and much subtypes of HIV. In recent years, the discovery of broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies and elucidation of their corresponding antigen epitopes have brought new hopes for the development of neutralizing antibody based HIV vaccine. Reviewing these advancements will be helpful for reconsidering HIV vaccine development with a better strategy.

Objective To explore the effect of cisapride combined with polyethylene glycol electrolytic solution on preoperative bowel preparation for patients receiving colorectal cancer operation. Methods One hundred and fifty-two patients received colorectal cancer opera-tion in our hospital from October 2010 to October 2014 were selected. Those who were treated with cisapride combined with polyethylene gly-col electrolytic solution for bowel preparation before operation were assigned to oberservation group(n=83),those who were treated with poly-ethylene glycol electrolytic solution for bowel preparation before operation were assigned to control group(n=69). The side effect after medi-cation, electrolyte concentration and incidence of incision infection between groups after operation were collected and compared. Results The incidence of nausea and vomiting was 7. 23% in observation group, which was significantly lower than 18. 84% in control group (χ2 =4. 64,P=0. 03). The difference of Na+,K+ and Cl- concentration between groups were not significant (t=1. 83,P=0. 07;t=0. 42,P=0. 68;t=1. 86,P=0. 07). The body temperature, leukocyte count and incidence of incision infection after operation in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (t=2. 68,P<0. 01;t=3. 29,P<0. 01;χ2 =4. 90,P=0. 03). Conclusion Cisapride com-bined with polyethylene glycol electrolytic solution before operation can significantly decrease the incidence of gastrointestinal side effect after medicaiton and incision infection after operation and it is beneficial to recovery for patients with colorectal cancer operation.

OBJECTIVETo explore the analgesic effect and action mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) on gastric ulcer rats with liver-depression syndrome.
METHODSThrough open-field experimental method, 45 qualified SPF-grade male SD rats were selected and divided into a blank group, a model group and an EA group according to random number table method, 15 rats in each group. The model of gastric ulcer rats with liver-depression syndrome was established in the model group and the EA group by using chronic unpredictable stimulation combined with acetic acid burning method. Rats in the blank group did not receive intervention. Rats in the model group were treated with fixation and immobilization for 13 days. Rats in the EA group were treated with EA at "Liangqiu" (ST 34) and "Ganshu" (BL 18); EA voltage was 2 V; disperse-dense wave was selected with 4 Hz of disperse wave and 15 Hz of dense wave, and the intensity of EA was according to the slight vibration of local skin and; muscles; the needles were retained for 20 min, once a day for consecutive 6 days; there was an interval of 1 day' and the treatment was given for 2 weeks. The general condition, open-field experimental result and gastric ulcer index were observed; the western blotting method was applied to measure the expression of vanilloid receptor subtype 1 (VR1) in hypothalamus and gastric antral mucosal, and ELISA method was applied to test the expression of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) in hippocampus.
RESULTSAfter model establishment, the general behavior condition in the model group was inferior to that in the blank group, which was obviously improved after EA. The range of motion in the model group was less than that in the blank group (P<0.01) while that in the EA group was higher than that in the model group (P<0.01). The ulcer inhibition rate was. 54.95%, and the ulcer index in the EA group was lower than that in the model group (P<0.01). Compared with; the blank group, the expression of VR1 in hypothalamus and gastric antral mucosal in the model group was increased (P<0.05); compared with the model group, the expression of VR1 in the EA group was reduced (P<0.05). Compared with the blank group, the expression of 5-HT an NE in hippocampus in the model group was significantly reduced (both P<0.01); compared with the model group, the expression of 5-HT and NE in the EA group was increased (both P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONEA at "Liangqiu" (ST 34) and "Ganshu" (BL 18) has certain analgesic effect in gastric ulcer rats with liver-depression syndrome, which is likely to be related with lowering the contents of VR1 in hypothalamus and gastric antral mucosal and increasing the content of 5-HT and NE in hippocampus.

Abstact:Aim To identify whether the petroleum e-ther fraction of Yueju pill (YJ-PE)could exhibit a po-tent rapid antidepressant effect and to investigate the underlying biological mechanism involved. Methods Fourty-four male KM mice were randomly assigned to five groups:the control group (saline group),low dosage of YJ-PE,middle dosage of YJ-PE,high dos-age of YJ-PE and ketamine. After a single drug admin-istration,we used tail suspension test (TST)to test the rapid antidepressant effect of YJ-PE in KMmice at 30 min.Another twenty-four male KM mice were ass-inged to three groups:control group, screened effective low dosage of YJ-PE group and ketamine group. We usd TST to assess these mice at 24 h post a single ad-
ministration.Western blot was performed to examine the expression of BDNF and TrkB in hippocampus of KMmice at 30 min and 24 h post a single administra-tion.Results An acute administration of YJ-PE de-creased the immobility time of KMmice in TST and in-creased the expression of BDNF and TrkB as soon as 30min post a single administration and lasted at least for 24 hours. Conclusion YJ-PE (low dosage)ex-hibits a rapid antidepressant-like potent, and the po-tent rapid antidepressant effects of YJ-PE are associat-ed with the up-regulation of BDNF and TrkB.

International Eye Science 2016;16(7):1265-1272
AIM: To systemically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of intraocular implants for vitreous retinal surgery.METHODS: We performed a comprehensive search for studies reporting vitreous surgery with intraocular implants randomized controlled and a retrospective controlled clinical trials from China Hownet ( CNKI ), Wanfang database, and VIP literature database. Studies obtained from those database were filtered according to the criteria, and data were retrieved from eligible studies for further analysis. Then we performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intraocular implants using comprehensive Meta - analysis software version 2 (Biostat, Englewood, NJ).
RESULTS: In total 36 studies were recruited for our Meta - analysis, including 5 092 cases. Meta analysis showed: 1) regarding the efficacy of repairing the retinal detachment, silicone oil was a better intraocular implants than C3 F8(OR= 1. 76; 95% CI: 1. 19-2. 60, P = 0. 0047) and SF6( OR = 4. 68; 95% CI: 1. 48 - 14. 81, P = 0. 0087); 2) regarding the risk of postoperative cataract, silicone oil showed significant higher risk than BBS (OR = 3. 24; 95%CI: 2. 10-4. 99, P= 1. 09 e-7), and C3 F8(OR= 3. 03; 95% CI:1. 50 - 6. 10, P = 0. 0019 ); 3 ) regarding the risk of postoperative intraocular pressure, silicone oil showed significant higher risk than BBS (OR= 6. 74; 95% CI: 3. 38-13. 41, P= 5. 67 e-08), and C3 F8 also showed a higher risk than BBS (OR= 4. 79; 95% CI: 2. 37-9. 68, P = 1. 29 e-05). In addition, silicone oil showed significant lower risk as compared with heavy silicone oil (OR= 0. 16; 95% CI: 0. 08-0. 53, P= 0. 0026).
CONCLUSION: The intraocular implants for the treatment of retinal detachment in vitreous retinal surgery are mainly divided into two major categories, liquid and gas implants. The silicone oil, a major liquid implant, shows higher efficacy in terms of treating retinal detachment than the gas implants. However, the silicone oil is associated with a higher risk of postoperative cataract and intraocular pressure as compared with gas implants.
