To observe the clinical efficacy of Huazhuo Jiedu formula in treating chronic erosive gastritis (CEG) patients with syndrome of accumulation of turbidity and toxicity, explore its mechanism by observing the changes in expression levels of hypoxia inducible factor (HIF-1α), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in serum and gastric mucosa tissues after treatment, and provide theoretical basis for the clinical application of Huazhuo Jiedu formula in treating chronic erosive gastritis. All 70 patient of CEG were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, 35 cases in each group. The patients in control group received Alatan Wuwei Wan, bid, 1 bag/time; while the patients in treatment group were given with Huazhuo Jiedu formula, 1 dose/day. The course of the treatment was 6 months in both groups. The changes in clinical symptoms, gastroscopic signs, pathology and the expression levels of HIF-1α, VEGF, and phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) in serum and gastric mucosa tissues were observed in both groups. The results showed that treatment group was better than control group in clinical efficacy, gastroscopic efficacy and pathological effect after treatment (<0.05); the levels of HIF-1α and VEGF in serum of treatment group were lower than those in the control group after treatment (<0.05), while the level of PTEN in serum of treatment group was higher than that in the control group after treatment (<0.05); the levels of HIF-1α and VEGF in gastric mucosa tissues in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group after treatment, while the level of PTEN in gastric mucosa tissues in treatment group was higher than that in the control group after treatment (<0.05), with statistically significant differences between these two groups (<0.05). Huazhuo Jiedu formula can improve the clinical symptoms, gastroscopic signs and pathological conditions in CEG patients with syndrome of accumulation of turbidity and toxicity, and the mechanism may be associated with decreasing the expression level of HIF-1α, VEGF and increasing the expression level of PTEN.

Aim To investigate the effect of miR-320a up-regulation on the apoptosis and migration of Bel7402 cells induced by ribonucleic acid Ⅱ.Methods The different expression levels of miR-320a in normal liver cells and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells were detected by qRT-PCR.Bel-7402 cell was transfected with miR-320a mimic, and the miR-320a expression levels were measured by qRT-PCR.The effect of ribonucleic acid Ⅱ on proliferation of Bel-7402 and Bel-7402-miR-320a cells was measured by CCK-8 assay, and cell cycle and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. The migration and invasion ability of ribonucleic acid Ⅱ on Bel-7402 cells were tested by Transwell method. The expression of p53,Cyclin D1,Bax,Bcl-2,MMP-3 proteins were examined by Western blot. Results miR-320a expression levels in HCC cell line Bel-7402 were significantly lower than those in normal cell line HL-7702.Bel-7402 cells were successfully transfected with miR-320a mimic, named Bel-7402-miR-320a.CCK-8 showed that ribonucleic acid Ⅱ could effectively inhibit the proliferation of Bel7402 and Bel-7402-miR-320a cells in vitro in a dosedependent manner at the range of 100,200,300,400,500 mg · L-1.The IC50 of ribonucleic acid Ⅱexposure on Bel-7402 and Bel-7402-miR-320a cells for 12 h and 24 h was 250,200 mg · L-t and 150,120 mg · L-1,respectively;flow cytometric analysis indicated that over-expression of miR-320a could arrest Bel-7402 and Bel-7402-miR-320a cells induced by ribonucleic acid Ⅱ in G0/G1 phase, and promote the apoptosis of HCC cells.Transwell method showed that Bel-7402-miR-320a + Ribonucleic acid Ⅱ group could significantly inhibit the migration of HCC cells compared with control group and Bel-7402 + Ribonucleic acid Ⅱ group.Western blot results showed that the expression of p53,Bax proteins increased, while the Cyclin D1,Bcl-2,MMP-3 proteins were down-regulated in Bel-7402 and Bel-7402-miR-320a cells induced by ribonucleic acid Ⅱ.Conclusions The expression of miR-320a is lower in HCC cells than that in normal cell line. While ribonucleic acid Ⅱ could promote the apoptosis of liver cancer cells by arresting the cell cycle protein expression of Cyclin D1,activating p53 signaling pathway,down-regulating Bcl-2,up-regulating Bax and destroying Bcl-2/Bax proportions, and inhibiting the migration and invasion of HCC cells by downregulating MMP-3.Overexpression of miR-320a could increase the sensitivity and boost the pharmacological effects of ribonucleic acid Ⅱ on HCC cells.

BACKGROUND:
Abnormally activated mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway has been reported in several model animals with inherited metabolic myopathies (IMMs). However, the profiles of mTOR pathway in skeletal muscles from patients are still unknown. This study aimed to analyze the activity of mTOR pathway in IMMs muscles.
METHODS:
We collected muscle samples from 25 patients with mitochondrial myopathy (MM), lipid storage disease (LSD) or Pompe disease (PD). To evaluate the activity of mTOR pathway in muscle specimens, phosphorylation of S6 ribosomal protein (p-S6) and p70S6 kinase (p-p70S6K) were analyzed by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.
RESULTS:
Western blotting results showed that p-p70S6K/p70S6K in muscles from LSD and MM was up-regulated when compared with normal controls (NC) (NC vs. LSD, U = 2.000, P = 0.024; NC vs. MM: U = 6.000, P = 0.043). Likewise, p-S6/S6 was also up-regulated in muscles from all three subgroups of IMMs (NC vs. LSD, U = 0.000, P = 0.006; NC vs. PD, U = 0.000, P = 0.006; NC vs. MM, U = 1.000, P = 0.007). Immunohistochemical study revealed that p-S6 was mainly expressed in fibers with metabolic defect. In MM muscles, most p-S6 positive fibers showed cytochrome C oxidase (COX) deficiency (U = 5.000, P = 0.001). In LSD and PD muscles, p-S6 was mainly overexpressed in fibers with intramuscular vacuoles containing lipid droplets (U = 0.000, P = 0.002) or basophilic materials (U = 0.000, P = 0.002).
CONCLUSION
The mTOR pathway might be activated in myofibers with various metabolic defects, which might provide evidence for mTOR inhibition therapy in human IMMs.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2021;73(3):389-406
As non-pharmaceutical interventions, non-invasive electrical neuromodulation techniques are promising in pain management. With many advantages, such as low costs, high usability, and non-invasiveness, they have been exploited to treat multiple types of clinical pain. Proper use of these techniques requires a comprehensive understanding of how they work. In this article, we reviewed recent studies concerning non-invasive electrical peripheral nerve stimulation (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and transcutaneous vagus/vagal nerve stimulation) as well as electrical central nerve stimulation (transcranial direct current stimulation and transcranial alternating current stimulation). Specifically, we discussed their analgesic effects on acute and chronic pain, and the neural mechanisms thereof. We then contrasted the four kinds of nerve stimulation techniques, pointing out limitations of existing studies and proposing directions for future research. With more extensive and in-depth research to overcome these limitations, we shall witness more clinical applications of non-invasive electrical nerve stimulations to alleviate patients' pain and ease the crippling medical and economic burden imposed on patients, their families, and the entire society.

Objective:To establish an effective classification and identification method for sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) maps of Rana dybowskii, its analogues and counterfeits based on cluster analysis and multivariate statistical analysis. Method:SDS-PAGE maps of 18 batches of R. dybowskii, its analogues and 2 counterfeits were obtained by SDS-PAGE method. SDS-PAGE maps were transformed into data matrix. NTSYSpc 2.10e statistical analysis software was used for cluster analysis, and SMICA-P 14.1 software was used for multivariate statistical analysis. Unsupervised Principal Component Analysis (PCA),Supervised Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) and Orthogonal Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (OPLS-DA) were performed for multivariate analysis and evaluation. Result:SDS-PAGE maps technology combined with cluster analysis and multivariate statistical analysis could accurately classify and identify R. dybowskii, its analogues and counterfeits. Cluster analysis could cluster four kinds of medicinal materials into four branches except No.1 medicinal materials. PCA results were superior to cluster analysis. Supervised PLS-DA and OPLS-DA results in multivariate statistical analysis were superior to unsupervised PCA. The classification and identification efficiencies of OPLS-DA were better than those of unsupervised PCA. OPLS-DA aggregated R. dybowskii, its analogues and 2 counterfeits into four groups. Six different protein components were obtained by comprehensive analysis of variable importance in projection (VIP) value, and OPLS-DA Bi load diagram, with relative molecular weights were 51.363,35.838,14.565,17.563,15.358 and 21.696 kDa,respectively. Conclusion:SDS-PAGE maps combined with cluster analysis and multivariate statistical analysis can be used as an effective method to classify and identify R. dybowskii, its analogues and counterfeits. This study provides a reference for the quality evaluation and screening of R. dybowskii.
