Seven guaiane-type sesquiterpenoids, a new compound 6-formyl-5-isopropyl-3-hydroxymethyl-7-methyl-1H-indene (1), a new natural product 5-isopropyl-3, 7-dimethyl-1H-indene-1-one (2), along with five known compounds: guaiazulene (3), 4-formyl-7-isopropyl-10-methylazulene (4), sesquiterpene ketolactone (5), alismoxide (6) and guaia-1 (5), 6-diene (7), were isolated from gorgonian Muriceides collaris collected in South China Sea. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis [MS, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR (DEPT), HMQC, HMBC, NOESY] and by comparison of the spectral data with those of the literatures.

Tolvaptan is a novel oral selective arginine vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist.Tolvaptan improves heart failure signs and symptoms without serious adverse events.Tolvaptan has no effect on all-cause mortality and cardiovascular death or admission rate for heart failure.But in heart failure patients with hyponatremia,tolvaptan can decrease cardiovascular death and admission rate for heart failure.

All the examination results of anesthesia interns from 1996 to 2003 were analyzed.The content and criteria of examination in anesthesia intern which was formulated by our university was evaluated.The cause of deficiency reflected by examination results and problems existing in education were analyzed to improve clinic training for anesthesia intern and cultivate excellent anesthesia specialist.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) in Chinese by detailed clinicopathological and laboratory assessments.Methods The baseline features of 36 patients with biopsy-proven disease were reviewed.The diagnosis was confirmed by pathology review according to consensus diagnostic criteria and clinicopathologic correlation.Disease activity and damage were assessed by the IgG4-RD responder index (RI).Results Thirty (83.3％) of the patients were male,while six were female,and the average age of onset was 65.1 years.All of the 36 patients had active disease,in which submandibular gland,lymph nodes,retroperitoneal tissue were the most common affected organs in this group of patients.Among 36 patients,77.7％ had elevated serum IgG4 concentrations and 44.4％ had hypocomplementemia.Patients with elevated serum IgG4 had a higher RI,a greater number of organs involved (P ＜ 0.01 for all comparisons).The correlation between serum IgG4 level and RI (r=0.737,P ＜ 0.01) was stronger than IgG,ESR,CRP and serum complement levels.The incidence of hypocomplementemia in IgG4-RD patients with renal involvement was higher than that in IgG4-RD patients with other organs involvement (P ＜ 0.01).Twenty-eight patients received glucocorticoids therapy,and had lower RI and serum IgG4 concentration after therapy (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Both IgG4-RD RI and IgG4 concentration may be regarded as assessment markers of disease activity and therapeutic effect of IgG4-RD.The diagnosis of IgG4-RD should be supported by histopathology and clinical features.

Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the protective potential of the Aspergillus fumigatus thiore -doxin reductase GliT ( TR) antigen by establishing and optimizing ELISPOT assay for TR antigen-specific T cells ( TR/AST) secreting IFN-γand IL-4 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells ( PBMCs ) and explore the role of TR/AST in invasive aspergillosis ( IA ) . Methods We optimized the reaction conditions of ELISPOT by preliminary checkerboard titration and determined the frequencies of positive spot-forming cells ( SFCs) specifically secreting IFN-γand IL-4 in the PBMCs of 20 healthy individuals with TR as specific stimulant and with PHA and PMA as positive controls ,. Results Checkerboard titration demonstrated the best result of ELISPOT with the TR antigen at the final concentration of 10μg/well and PBMCs at 3 ×105/well.The median frequency of IFN-γSFCs was sig-nificantly higher (15 [3.5, 59.5]) than that of IL-4 SFCs (0 [0, 0]) (P<0.001).TR induced IFN-γresponses in all the 20 healthy donors, including 9 cases of strong IFN-γresponse (SFCs>20/3 ×105 PBMCs), accounting for 45%, but failed to induce IL-4 response in 19 of the healthy individuals . Conclusion The Aspergillus fumigatus TR antigen could induce an immunodominant Th1 response , and therefore might be a potential protective antigen .

Objective To study the effect of traditional Chinese medicine on survival time in children solid tumors with chemotherapy. Methods 76 children with solid tumors, which were collected from January 2005 to March 2006, were randomly divided into treatment group (35 cases), control group (41 cases). The treatment group was treated with chemotherapy + self-dispensing Fuzheng Jianpi Chinese medicine. The control group was treated with chemotherapy alone. Results The survival rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P = 0.0024). The average survival time after chemotherapy in the treatment group was (31± 2) months (95 % CI 27-34 months), the control group was (21±2) months (95 % CI 16-25 months), which was shorter than the treatment group.Conclusion Chinese medicine and chemotherapy can prolong the survival time of children with solid tumors.

In this experiment, Hca-F or L615 elemene combo-TCV (H-TCV and L-TCV), H-TCV lysates, corynebacterium parvum (CP) were used to immunize 615 and Balb/c inbred mice, and their splenic DCs were prepared and pulsed in vitro with tumor cell lysates (H or L) and TCV lysates (TH or TL). The capacities of DCs to stimulate the proliferation of syngeneic nonadherent spleenic cells were tested with MTT assay. The results showed that the splenic DCs from normal mice in vitro pulsed with TH or TL could induced syngeneic noradherent splenic cells to proliferate (P＜0.01), while the H or L pulsed DCs could not. The splenic DCs from H-TCV or L-TCV or TH immunized mice re-pulsed in vitro with TH or TL exhibited stronger stimulating effects than the DCs from normal mice pulsed in vitro for the firth time pulsed with TH or TL (P＜0.01 or P＜0.05); The capacities of DCs to induce proliferation of syngeneic nonadherent splenic cells could be further enhanced by CP immunization, especially when were pulsed with TH (P＜0.01). Normal inbred 615 mice were transferred with DCs pulsed with lysates of elemene TCV (TDCs) or pulsed with lysates of Hca-F tumor cells (HDCs) on day 7 before challenged with lethal dose of live Hca-F cells, significant adoptive immunoprotective effects were seen, with 61.6% tumor inhibition rate and 25% survival in TDC adoptive transfer group. This study indicated that DCs might play a role in the mechanisms of active immunization and pulsing DCs with lysate of elemene combo TCV and isolating DCs from elemene combo TCV immunized mice were useful methods for DCs vaccine preparation.
