Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
The traditional view of bacterial life cycle consists of four phases, namely, lag phase, exponential or logarithmic phase, stationary phase and death phase.Although the standard textbook description of the bacterial life cycle has been useful, might not always provide us the whole visage of bacteria growth process.Recently,it has demonstrated that bacterial life cycle is expanded to five phases. It is a significant different growth phase after death phase:long-term stationary phase, which may be more akin to the nature environment in which microorganisms exist.Microbial cells survive due to mutating, and forming growth advantage during stationary phase (GASP) phenotype in this phase. It is very important for further study the microorganisms in this phase.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(23):-
Objective To release the correlation of point mutation of platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase(PAF-AH)gene and primary nephritic syndrome (PNS).Method According to the effect of hormonal therapy,94 children with PNS were divided into three groups:steroid-sensitive nephritic syndrome(SSNS),steroid-resistent nephritic syndrome(SRNS),steroid-dependent nephritic syndrome(SDNS).The point mutation of PAF-AH gene (G994T) were identified by molecular biology technique in children with PNS and 239 healthy children were set as control group. Results No statistics differences were found relating to the genotype and allele frequencies between patients with PNS,SSNS,SRNS and normal controls. But it is confirmed that the genotype and allele frequencies among patients with nephritic type nephritic syndrome (NTNS)was higher than patients with simple type nephritic syndrome(STNS) and normal controls.SDNS was higher than both SSNS and normal controls. The number of relapses during the first year after onset was significantly higher in the patients who were heterozygous for the mutant allele (GT) or homozygotes (TT) than in those of the GG homozygotes. Conclusion Most PNS children with PAF-AH gene mutation occurred at position 994 were NTNS.The risk of relapse during the treatment period was higher in patients with PAF-AH gene mutation occurred at position 994.

OBJECTIVETo report the therapeutic effect of reverse fasciocutaneous flap pedicled with perforator branch of anterior medial malleolus artery for soft tissue defect on the dorsal side of foot.
METHODSThe perforator branch was located under the guidance of Doppler flowmeter. The flap was designed along the saphenous neurovascular axis. Then the flap was transferred reversely with the perforator branch as rotation point.
RESULTSFrom Feb. 2002 to Mar. 2008, 12 cases were treated and followed up for 6 - 18 months. All the flaps survived completely. The flap size ranged from 13.5 cm x 3.0 cm to 8 cm x 3 cm. The perforator branch located at 0.5 - 1.5 cm anterior-inferior to the medial malleolus. Both the cosmetic and functional results were satisfactory.
CONCLUSIONSThe flap has a reliable blood supply and a flexible design. It is easily performed for soft tissue defect on the dorsal side of foot. It is a new type flap which combined neurocutaneous vascular flap with the perforator flap.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2011;31(2):113-116
OBJECTIVETo compare the effect of abdominal acupuncture and Chinese medicine on pain relieving in pelvic cavity in patients with endometriosis.
METHODSFifty-eight cases were randomly divided into 2 groups. Thirty cases were in abdominal acupuncture group and 28 cases in Chinese medicine group. Abdominal acupuncture points such as Zhongwan (CV 12), Xiawan (CV 10) and Qihai (CV 6), etc. were adopted for the abdominal acupuncture group, and Tianqi Tongjing Capsule (radix notoginseng capsule for dysmenorrhea) was taken by the Chinese medicine group. After a 3-month treatment, the scores of McGill pain questionaire, level of serum CA125, average value of the radial line of endometrial cyst of ovary and the sum of 3 radial lines of the uterus of patients with adenomyosis as the complication of both groups were observed before and after treatment.
RESULTSThe McGill estimation of 6 items for both groups improved obviously after treatment (all P < 0.01, except numbers of selected deseriptors in Chinese medicine group). The differences of the result of McGill estimation of 6 items after treatment had statistical significance, the scores in the abdominal acupuncture group were obviously better than those in the Chinese medicine group (all P < 0.01). The differences of CA125 levels within one group or between 2 groups had statistical significance (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). The difference of the radial lines of patients with endometrial cyst of ovary within one group or between 2 groups after treatment had not statistical significance (all P > 0.05). For the value of 3 radial lines of the uterus of patients with adenomyosis within one group before and after treatment, only the difference in the abdominal acupuncture group had statistical significance (P < 0.01). The differences before and after treatment in the Chinese medicine group and the difference between 2 groups after treatment had no statistical significance (all P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONEffect of abdominal acupuncture on relieving pain of pelvic cavity caused by endometriosis, reducing the level of serum CA125 is obverious than Tianqi Tongjing Capsule (radix notoginseng capsule for dysmenorrhea). However, the effects on reducing the size of the ovarian endometrial cyst and the size of uterus with adenomyosis are not significant. Therefore, it is concluded that abdominal acupuncture is a better choice for endometriosis with pain as the chief complaints.

Chinese Journal of Cardiology 2006;34(9):829-832
OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to observe histopathological changes post cryoablation in canine myocardium, to characterize the specific ablation lesion post cryoablation.
METHODSCryothermal ablation was applied on myocardium (both epicardium and endocardium) of 14 mongrel dogs with different ablation parameters (-25 degrees C x 4 min, -50 degrees C x 4 min, -75 degrees C x 4 min, -75 degrees C x 2 min, -75 degrees C x 6 min, -75 degrees C x 8 min). Lesion dimensions and histopathologic changes were observed.
RESULTSThe discrete, sharply delimited lesions were detected in cryoablated myocardium. Histologically, cryoablation in all temperatures studied induced heterogeneous necrosis of the myocardium. Lesion dimensions are related to freezing time and temperature.
CONCLUSIONCryoablation is a feasible and preferably choice for clinical application due to its controllable myocardium lesions.
