Objective To explore the expressions of matrix metalloproteinases-1(MMP-1) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1) in sternomastoid muscle and explore the pathogenesis of sternomastoid muscle fibrosis in congenital fibra muscular torticollis in children.Methods The hyperplastic state of collagen fiber were determine by Masson collagen stainning method and muscular torticollis and fibra torticollis was differed,obtained 22 cases of the fibra torticollis group.Immunohistochemical method was used to determine the expression of MMP-1 and TIMP-1 in sternomastoid muscle of fibra torticollis and compared them with 6 cases of control group.Results By the immunohistochemical method,the expression of MMP-1 in the experiment group significantly decreased than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion In congenital fibra torticollis,the sternomastoid muscle fibrosis is related to the decrease of MMP-1.

Since 2000,most of H5N1 subtype influenza A virus had a unique mutation of NS gene with 15base pair deletion from 263 to 277. In order to investigate the bio-characteristics of this mutation,two different NS recombinants,RWSN-248 and RWSN-m248,were generated via plasmid rescue from A/WSN/33(H1N1) and A/SD/04(H5N1). RWSN-248 had a higher viral titer than RWSN-m248 in MDCK and COS-1 cells that have an IFN response,but they had the similar growth ability in Vero cells that lack an IFN response. Both of two recombinants grew well in embryonated chicken eggs and had the similar viral titer and MDT. The results above revealed that the deletion from 263 to 277 sites of NS gene did not influence viral virulence to but decreased viral anti-IFN ability of H5N1.

The yeast fusant ZFF-28, which is high in biomass production and rich in selenium, was constructed after mutagenesis and protoplasts fusion between yeast strains. The total selenium content of ZFF-28 is 1.8 and 1.0 times higher than that of the parental strains Saccharomyces cerevisiae ZY-67 and Saccharomyces kluyveri SZY-198 respectively. Using single factor tests and a L16(4(3) x 2(1)) orthogonal design, the cultivation conditions was optimized as: 50mL culture in 250mL shake flasks in molasses containing 6% sugar and 60microg/mL Se at 28 degree C for 25h at 220 r/min, with the initial pH adjusted to 6.0 - 6.5. Under the optimized conditions, the biomass (dry weight) reached 8.2g/L and the Se content of the cells reached 2050microg/g, with organic and inorganic Se contents being 91% and 9% respectively.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of negative emotions on serum levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and neuropeptide Y (NYP) in hepatitis B liver cirrhosis (HBLC) patients.

METHODSTotally 617 HBLC patients were assigned to the negative emotion group (415 cases) and the non-negative emotion group (202 cases) judged by negative emotions. Case numbers of various grading Child-Pugh were recorded in the two groups. Their liver functions were compared between the two groups. Serum levels of ACTH and NPY were detected using double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in the two groups.

RESULTSThere was no statistical difference in Child-Pugh grading between the two groups (χ2 = 0.65, P = 0.72). Compared with the non-negative emotional group, serum ACTH levels decreased significantly in the negative emotion group with statistical difference (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in serum ACTH levels between the two groups (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe negative emotion of HBLC patients was not related to the serum ACTH level, but to relatively lower-concentration serum NPY levels.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of combination of Epimedii Folium and Ligustri Lucidi Fructus on osteoporosis rats induced by retinoic acid.

METHODSixty three-month-old male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the normal control group, the model group, the Epimedii Folium group, the Ligustri Lucidi Fructus group, the combination group of Epimedii Folium and Ligustri Lucidi Fructus and the raloxifene group. The osteoporosis model was established through oral administration with retinoic acid for two weeks. Meanwhile, all of treatment groups were administered with corresponding drugs for three weeks. The contents of serum calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), alkaline phosphatase (AKP) and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (StrACP) were detected, and the pathomorphological changes of femurs were observed.

RESULTThe model control group showed much lower contents of serum Ca and P than the normal control group, but with significantly higher AKP and StrACP activity than the normal control group. The femoral head area showed reduced, narrow and sparse trabecular bones, with typical osteoporosis-like changes. Compared with the model control group, all of treated groups showed significant increase in Ca and P contents in serum, and down-regulate AKP and StrACP levels, while trabecular bones became more and wider, and densely interweaved as a reticular formation. Among them, the combination group showed the most significant effect.

CONCLUSIONEpimedii Folium and Ligustri Lucidi Fructus could effectively correct the abnormal bone metabolism and improve pathological conditions of bone tissues, so as to show the anti-osteoporosis effect. The combined application of the two drugs showed a better efficacy.

Objective To evaluate the efficiency and safety of mifepristone and gestrinone in subsidiary treat- ment after endometriosis surgery.Methods Totally 151 patients diagnosed as endometriosis with conservative surgery treatment or laparoscopic operation were divided into three groups;49 cases in the group of mifepristone re- ceived mifepristone tablets 10mg every day for 6 months from the first week of postoperation,60 cases in the group of gestrinone received gestrinone capsules 2.5mg twice every week for 6 months.Cases in the group of control did not receive any postoperative medical treatment.The duration of follow-up after surgery was censored at 3～18 months.Patients'controlling rate of ache symptoms and signs,clinical efficiency,recurrence rate,sex hormone level, menstrual and weight changes,liver and renal functions were recorded and compared.Results The follow up rate is 97.4 %,the efficacious rate and symptoms controlling rate of mifepristone group and gestrinone group were 78.7 %, 93.1% respectively,which of the control group were 34.8 %,58.7 % respectively.There were significant differ- ences,x~2=44.31,P

Objective To investigate the correlation between myocardial microcirculation and inflammation in acute myocardial infarction(AMI)by myocardial contrast echocardiography(MCE).Methods Eighty-one AMI patients(AMI group)and 30 healthy adults(normal control group)were enrolled.White blood cell(WBC),hypersensitive C reactive protein(hsCRP)and neutrophilic gtanulocyte percentage(G%)were measured in patients and healthy adults.According to different count of WBC,AMI group was devided into A group(n=40,WBC≥10×109/L)and B group(n=41,WBC＜10×109/L).Myocardial contrast intensity(A),blood flow rate(β)and myocardial blood volume(MBF=A×β)of each segment were measured by MCE during 5-7 days of hospitalization.Results Compared with control group.WBC,hsCRP in A group and hsCRP in B group were significantly elevated(P＜0.05).A,β and MBF in A group were significantly lower than those in B group(P＜0.05).WBC and hsCRP in A group had significant negative correlations with β respectively(BWBC=-0.67,P＜0.05;BhsCRP=-0.5 1,P＜0.05).Conclusions The level of plasma inflammatory factors were remarkably increased after AMI,which had a positive correlation with low microcirculation perfusion.

Objective To stratify the risks of patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE) and pulmonary hypertension (PH) by dynamic pulmonary perfusion imaging (DPPI) and pulmonary perfusion imaging (PPI). Methods From October 2007 to February 2009, 20 healthy volunteers ( 12 males, 8 females; mean age =48.47 ±13.47 years) and 31 APE patients (21 males, 10 females; mean age =47.68 ±18.06 years; from October 2007 to July 2009) were included in the study. DPPI and PPI were performed in all subjects. Percentage of perfusion defect scores ( PPDs% ) were calculated by semi-quantitative analysis of PPI. Risk levels were defined according to PPDs% calculated from PPI: normal (PPDs% =0); very low risk (0 ＜ PPDs% ≤10% ); low risk (10% ＜ PPDs% ≤20% ); moderate risk (20% ＜ PPDs% ≤40% );high risk (40% ＜ PPDs% ≤60% ) and very high risk ( PPDs% ＞ 60% ). Lung equilibrium time (LET)was calculated on region of interest (ROI) drawn over DPPI. Clinical risk was scored by Aujesky method.The t-test, ANOVA and correlation analysis were used with SPSS 13.0 software. Results ( 1 ) LET in healthy volunteers and APE patients was ( 12.18 ± 3.28) and (32.90 ± 14.29) s respectively (t = 6. 81,P ＜ 0. 01 ). (2) The correlation coefficient, coefficient of determination between LET and PPDs% in APE patients were 0.93 and 0. 87, respectively. The correlation coefficient between LET and clinical risk score was 0.86. (3)The mean LET of APE patients in very low risk (n =5), low risk (n = 12), moderate risk (n=9), high risk (n=4) and very high risk groups (n=1) were (19.59 ±0.04), (25.03 ±0.08),(36.07 ±0. 10), (57.15 ±0.06) and (70 ±0.00) s, respectively. There was significant difference among APE patients with different risk levels (F =16. 78, P ＜0.01). Conclusions ( 1 ) DPPI was a reliable, convenient and non-invasive method for the evaluation of PH in APE. (2) Combined LET of DPPI and PPDs% of PPI was valuable for risk stratification and prognosis estimation in APE patients.
