Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2002;0(S1):-
Objective To study the efficacy of laparscopic operation in the treatment of repeated ectopic pregnancy. Methods 42 patients with repeated ectopic pregnancy were treated by salpingotomy, salpingectomy and adhesiotomy. Results All cases were managed under laparoscopy successfully, and no complication occurred. 28 cases were followed up for ( 6~50) months after operation, and postoperative pregnancy rate was 25%(7/28). Conclusions Laparoscopic operation can be the first choice of treatment of repeated ectopic pregnancy with minimal invasion and quicker recovery.

Objective To develop a more effective method to treat proximal tubal obstruction. Methods In a total of 89 cases, there were 113 oviduct lesions diagnosed by hysterosalpingogram (HSG) and then by laparoscopy as proximal tubal obstructions. Intubations and recanalizations were performed by means of laparoscopy combined with hysteroscopy. Results Out of the 113 oviduct lesions in 89 cases, 73 (64.6%) were recanalized. In follow-up of 20 days~58 months, there were 20 cases of successful pregnancies and labours, 2 inevitable abortions and 1 ectopic pregnancy, with the rate of pregnancy 25.8% (23 of 89). Conclusions It is an effective approach to treat proximal tubal obstruction by using laparoscopy combined with hysteroscopy. It can also be used to identify the true proximal tubal obstruction from the false one.

Objective To study the efficacy of laparoscopic operations in endometriosis associated with infertility. Methods Video laparoscopic operations of ovariocystectomy, adhesiotomy, electrocoagulation, salpingoplasty and hydrotubotion were completed in 378 cases of endometriosis associated with infertility. Results A total of 198 cases were followed up for 4~50 months after operations, with the pregnancy rate 61 1%(121/198) and remission rate 92 4%(183/198). Recurrence was found in 5 cases. Conclusions Laparoscopic operations, characterized by minimal invasion, rapid postoperative recovery and better clinical effect, can be used in the treatment of endometriosis associated with infertility.

Objective To discuss clinical application of theory of TCM constitution on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).Methods Literature of nearly 15 years was summarized to analyze the development of Chinese constitution theory and its application of on typing and treatment of NAFLD.Results Main types of constitution in patients with NAFLD were phlegm-dampness,deficiency of Qi and damp-heat.On tiis basis, treatment based syndrome differentiation of TCM could effectively prevent and treat NAFLD.Conclusion TCM constitution theory provide research ideas for NAFLD.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of endovenous laser treatment(EVLT) plus punctiform stripping therapy for lower extremity varicose veins. Methods Sixty-eight limbs in fifty patients with varicosed vein underwent EVLT plus punctiform stripping therapy in department of vascular surgery of the first affiliated hospital of Anhui medical university. Results All patients were followed for 2~27 months and all the patients had successful occlusions of varicosed veins with no recurrence were observed.Local skin paresthesia were found in 2 patients. No local recurrence and deep vein thrombosis were found. Conclusion EVLT plus punctiform stripping therapy is a simple and effective treatment for lower extremity varicosed veins with fewer complications and recurrences.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of two commercially available dentifrices (colgate total toothpaste containing triclosan and copolymer was used as the experimental and a toothpaste containing triclosan without copolymer the control) in the control of dental plaque and gingivitis. Methods: A double blind clinical study was conducted in 200 adult male and female subjects from Chengdu, China were entered into the study and stratified into two treatment groups which were balanced for age, sex, baseline of Quigley Hein plaque index scores(PI) and baseline of Loe Silness gingival index scores(GI). Subjects received an oral prophylaxis and were instructed to brush their teeth for one minute twice daily with their assigned dentifrice. Three and six months after application of the dentifrices plaque and gingivitis examinations were conducted. Results: At the end of the study, 183 subjects complied with the protocol and completed the entire six month study. Before use of the dentifrices GI in experimental and control groups was 1.63?0.36 and 1.68?0.34, it was 0.45?0.30 and 0.52?0.33 in 3 months, and 0.43?0.32 and 0.58?0.38 in 6 months( P

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(05):-
Objective:To assess whether ART sealants could be applied on children in school environment in China, and to evaluate long term effects of this treatments. Methods:The study was conducted in Deyang, Sichuan Province. Four dentists placed a total of 191 fissure sealants in 140 children in four secondary schools. Standard instruments and procedures for ART were used. The material used was a high-strength glass-ionomer (Ketac-Molara, ESPE). The treatments were evaluated annually by the same dentist who was not involved in the treatment using explorers and mouth-mirrors. Results:The cumulative 1-year, 2-year, 4-year and 6-year complete survival rates of the sealants were 75.4%,62.5%,50.0%,34.6% and the partial or complete retained survival rates were 89.6%, 78.8%, 68.5% and 57.9%. No incidence of new caries was occurred 1 year after ART sealants. The incidence of recurrent caries was very low after 2 and 3 years, which were 1.6% and 2.8% respectively. But there was a high increase of caries 4 years after sealants application. The prevalence of caries were 8.5%,16.1%,15.0% respectively over 4, 5 and 6 years after ART sealants application. Conclusion:The ART approach for preventing teeth caries in school children is effective and acceptable. The 3-year survival rates of the sealant are high with low prevalence of new caries. Six years after sealants application, the result is acceptable though there is a drop of survival rate. New caries is occurred with a highly increased prevalence three years after sealants missing without re-sealant. ART sealant is a simple, acceptable technique and is suitable for widespread application in China.
