Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;28(12):1361-1364
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of SKy bone expander system in percutaneous kyphoplasty for treatment of osteoporotic verterbral compression fracture. Methods: Twenty-two patients (aged 62-90 years, 32 vertebrae) underwent percutaneous kyphoplasty using SKy bone expander system. The bone cement was injected into the collapsed vertebrae. The vasual analogue scale (VAS) and complications were recorded during follow up. Results: The operations were successful in all patients via unilateral or bilateral approach. The operation time ranged from 30 to 120 min. The mean volume of cement injected into each vertebra body was (4.8±1.1) ml, ranged from 3.1 to 6.8 ml. Extravertebral leakage of bone cement was observed in two vertebrae with no symptoms. All patients had their pain relieved; the VAS was 7.6±0.8 before operation,3.5± 0.5 one day after operation, 2.8±0.6 one week after operation, and 2.4±0.6 one month after operation, with significant difference found between preoperation and postoperation (P<0.05). The symptoms of the patients were improved during a follow up of 12-26 months without recurrence. Conclusion: Application of SKy bone expander system in percutomeous kyphoplasty can relieve pain and restore the vertebrae height; it may be an effective treatment for aged patients with osteoporotic verterbral compression fracture.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
The present study reported that 5srRNA from reticulocytes of rabbit could pass into the nucleus of mouse myeloma cells SP2/0,and in the mean time DNA synthesis and cells division were markedly suppressed. In a separate experiment, the rRNA was extracted from embryonic liver and erythrocytes of rabbit or rat and analysed by agarose electrophoresis method. The result indicated that the amount of 5srRNA in various period of the development of erythrocyte is changed along with denucleation process. Thus it is likely that 5srRNA of mammalian erythrocyte plays a role in reversing malignant phenotype of tumor cells and promoting denucleation of mammalian erythrocyte through inhibiting DNA synthesis.

Background Cataract is the main cause of global blindness, and surgery is the main method for the treatment of cataract,so precise preoperative parameters have an important significance for improving postoperative visual quality. Objective This study was to analyze the difference of lens thickness (LT) measured by immersion A-scan ultrasound versus optical biometry and consistency of these two methods in measuring the LT for different types of cataract eyes, and to investigate whether A-scan ultrasound for the LT measurement needs to correct the ultrasound speed parameter. Methods A reliability evaluation of diagnosis test was designed. The LT was measured on 143 cataract eyes using immersion A-scan ultrasound and Lenstar optical biometry in Tianjin Eye Hospital from September 2013 to May 2014.The eyes were assigned to nuclear cataract group (60 eyes of 50 patients),posterior subcapsular cataract group (40 eyes of 40 patients) and cortical cataract group (43 eyes of 43 patients) based on the types of cataract, and the hardness of nucleus was grade II in 20 eyes of 14 patients, grade Ⅲ in 20 eyes of 17 patients and grade Ⅳ in 20 eyes of 19 patients. The outcomes measured by immersion A-scan ultrasound versus Lenstar optical biometry were compared with paired t test, and the consistency between the two devices was analyzed by Bland-Altman agreement plot. This study complied with Helsinki declaration, and written informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to any examination. Results The mean LT value was (4.85± 0.39) mm from the immersion A-scan ultrasound and (4.74 ±0.37)mm from the Lenstar optical biometry, with a significant difference between the two devices (t =3.020,P =0.004).No significant differences were found in the LT values of the posterior subcapsular cataractous eyes and cortical cataractous eyes between the two devices (t=1.015,P =0.316;t =1.275,P =0.209).The LT values by immersion A-scan ultrasound were significantly higher in grade Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ nuclear cataractous eyes than those by Lenstar optical biometry (t=2.175,2.378,2.383,all at P<0.05).The outcome showed a good consistency in the posterior subcapsular cataractous eyes between the two measuring methods, with the 95% limitation of agreement (LoA) from-0.21 to 0.18 mm.However, there were poor consistencies between the two measuring methods in the nuclear and cortical cataractous eyes, with the 95% LoA from-0.64 to 0.43 mm and from-0.50 to 0.41 mm,respectively.Poor consistencies also were seen in grade Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ nuclear cataractous eyes between the two measuring methods, and the 95% LoA were-0.31 to 0.22 mm,-0.32 to 0.24mm and-1.09 to 0.62 mm,respectively. Conclusions There are differences in measuring LT of different types of cataractous eyes between immersion A-scan ultrasound and Lenstar optical biometry. The measuring values are higher by immersion A-scan ultrasound than those by Lenstar optical biometry, suggesting that the measurement of immersion A-scan ultrasound for LT of different types and nuclear hardness of cataractous eyes should correct the ultrasound speed parameters.

Chinese Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology 2017;31(2):203-206
Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling is established based on the information of existing human or other animal anatomy, knowledge of physiology and biochemical data. The model uses mathematical methods to simulate chemicals′process of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion in the body, in order to achieve the dose and interspecific extrapolation and to predict the chemical level in the specific organ at the specific time. In studies on toxicology of nanomaterials, the PBPK models in the silver nanoparticles, zinc oxide nanoparticles, titanium dioxide nanoparticles and polymer nanomaterials are gradually established. PBPK modeling can not only provide information on the dynamic change of nanomaterials in the body, but is of great significance for to quantitative evaluation of biological safety of nanomaterials. PBPK modeling will be a hot spot for research in the field of nanotoxicology.

BACKGROUND: Clinical studies demonstrate that the durable stability of the prosthesis depends on a close geometric fit between the prosthesis and femoral medullary cavity.OBJECTIVE: To study the law of the parameters of medullary canal section shape in proximal femur DESIGN: Repeated measurement observation.SETTING: Department of Orthopaedics, Ninth People's Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University MATERIALS: Ten femoral samples without any damage was obtained from corpse in the Staff Room of Anatomy of the Shanghai Second Medical University METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Department of Or thopaedics, Ninth People's Hospital between January 2000 and March 2000. Section morphology of medullary cavity of proximal femur was dealt with image-processing, and conus curve fitted parameter mathematical method was proposed; and at the same time, section of medullary cavity of proximal femur of 10 patients was measured manually.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Computer-aided method and manual method were applied to measure the coordination at the end of extrude and the coordinate of link joint RESULTS: 10 femoral samples entered the stage of result analysis. Com puter was used to measure the coordination of the end of extrude of the section medullary cavity of proximal femur (X,Y) and the coordination of the connection point (X,Y).There was no significant difference of the measuring results between computer-aided method and manual CONCLUSION: Computer-aided imaging-processing method not only reduces the error but also can be completed by computer automatically in measuring section morphology of medually cavity in proximal femur. It is suitable for a variety of morphology measurement.
