Objective To test the reliability and validity of the collective self-esteem scale for freshman.Methods 800 freshmen finished the Collective Self-Esteem Scale,the Life Satisfaction Scale,and Self-esteem Scale.Results The confirmatory factor analysis shows that collective esteem includes membership esteem,private collective esteem,public collective esteem,and importance to identiy intemal consistency a of the scale and the 4 components of the scale ale between0.6357and 0.8369.All components of the scale except importance to identity have significantly positive correlation with life satisfaction and self-esteem.(0.14＜r＜0.41,P＜0.01).Gids have more scores than boys in total collective esteem(t=3.38,P＜0.01),Private CSE and Importance to Identity (t=3.32,P＜0.01).Conclusion The revised collective self-esteem scale for freshmen has sound reliability and validity.It is a good instrument for measuring collective self-esteem of Chinese freshman.

Recently more and more ophthalmologists selected a multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) for their cataract patient in order to get good unaided reading vision. Although the design of IOL have made a great progress, we are still dissatisfied compared with our natural crystal lens. Understanding the design theory and improving our surgery technique are basic for better utilization the multifocal IOL. Does the multifocal IOL reduce contrast sensitivity? Should we implant the multifocal IOL in pediatric cataract surgery? How can we deal with the residual refractive error after multifocal IOL implantation? In this editorial, we try to clarify these problems to make us select and use multifocal IOL better.

Objective To compare the clinical effects of endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting and traditional surgical management in coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG).Methods Between march 2007 to June 2008,215 patients underwent CABG.Among them,87 patients underwent endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting.At the same time,128 cases were managed by traditional ways.Results The cases were foUowed up for 1-17 months.Endoscopic great saphenous vein harvesting was superior to traditional management in the healing of wound infection,relief of pain,improvement of edema and skin feeling(P＜0.05).Conclusion Endoscope saphenous vein harvesting is an efficient technique for CABG which is characterized by less trauma and fewer wound complications,and will not influcence the function of vein as well.On the other hand,the satisfaction is improved.

Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(MI/R) injury refers to restoring blood perfusion after myocardial ischemia for a relatively long time, but the tissue appears more obvious and severe myocardial damage and dysfunction than before reperfusion, this phenomenon mainly relates to inflammation, oxidative stress, cell apoptosis, cell autophagy and so on.NF-κB is a nuclear transcription factor involved in regulating a variety of pathophysiological processes, which also plays an important role in all aspects of MI/R injury.The in-depth study of NF-κB in MI/R injury and clinical application of related research will provide new ideas and methods for treating MI/R injury.

Objective To explore the relationship between peritoneal lavage cytology in gastric carcinoma and lymph node metastasis.Methods From June 2012 to May 2014,intraoperative peritoneal lavage for cancer cells was carried out in 226 gastric cancer patients undergoing gastrectomy.During the process 63 patients were irrigated with 500 ml of normal saline,while the others were using 1 000 ml.D2+ lymph nodes dissection was performed to evaluate the relationship between peritoneal lavage cytology in gastric carcinoma and lymph nodes metastasis.Results The positive rates of exfoliative carcinoma cells were 11.1％ in the 500 ml group and 9.2％ in the 1 000 ml group (x2 =0.188,P=0.695).In both groups,rate of exforliative cancer cells were positively related to lymph node metastasis,the numbers of positive lymph nodes,the station of lymph nodes metastasis,the rate of the lymph nodes metastasis and that of the second station (all P ＜ 0.05),but not to the numbers of the lymph node cleaned (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions Lymph nodes metastasis was an important risk factor that contribute to exfoliated carcinoma cells in patients with gastric carcinoma,and especially in those with lymph nodes metastasis at the second station.

Objective To evaluate and screen the concentration and coordination degree of the opinions of the experts in TCM pediatrics on the preventive method of Practice Guidelines to Prevent Disease for Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infections in Children Prevented by Sachet-Therapy;To formulate scientific and practical methods for perfume pouch wearing in this book. Methods Delphi method was applied to this research. All questionnaires were designed based on the literature research and distributed to more than 30 experts for 3 rounds. And the results in the first two rounds of survey were analyzed. Results Totally 31 and 33 valid questionnaires were received in the first and second time respectively. The experts’ activity index was 88.6% and 93.4% respectively. The perfume pouch wearing methods of Practice Guidelines to Prevent Disease for Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infections in Children Prevented by Sachet-Therapy was set down. And most of the experts shared a positive view on the concentration and coordination degree of this book. Conclusion The experts’ opinions upon this draft are quite positive. The experts are from all over China, and they are quite professional, with representativeness.
