To investigate the influence of the difference enhancers on the transport mechanism of chlorogenic acid (CGA) across Caco-2 cells model, a RP-HPLC method was adopted to detect the concentrations of CGA. At the concentrations of 20 to 80 microg x mL(-1), the difference of absorption rate constants (K(a)) was not statistically significant. At the concentrations of 40 and 20 microg x mL(-1), the ratios of apparent permeability coefficients (P(app)) of the apical to basolateral and the basolateral to apical were 1.14 and 1.18, respectively. With the effect of enhancers K(a) and P(app) increased, the absorption half-life (T1/2) decreased. CGA passed through the Caco-2 cell membrane mainly by passive transport. It showed that monocarboxylic acid transporter (MCT) could be involved in the across membrane transport process of CGA. Borneol had no effect on the cell membrane transport processes. The order of increasing absorption of CGA caused by the enhancers was sodium lauryl sulphate > sodium taurocholate > carbomer.

Objective To investigate the CT imaging characteristics of primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the liver. Methods The CT, clinical and histopathologic data of 6 patients with MFH were analyzed retrospectively. All the cases were confirmed by surgery and histopathological examinations. Results The tumors were located in the right liver in 4 patients and the left liver in 2 patients. The maximum diameter of the tumors ranged from 5 to 20 cm.All the tumors were unevenly hypodense on plain CT scan.Four tumors had relatively well-defined margins, while 2 tumors had ill-defined margins. After contrast enhancement, the peripheral and internal divisions of the three storiform-pleomorptic MFH showed progressive enhancement. The peripheral and internal divisions of the two inflammatory MFH were obviously enhanced in the arterial phase, and the enhancement decreased in the portal and delayed phases. The hypodense areas of the one myxiod MFH were not enhanced, but the internal floc and divisions were progressive enhanced. On gross pathology, the tumors were round or irregular in shape, most had a complete capsule with multiple surrounding vessels. These findings correlated well with the CT findings. Conclusions CT findings of primary Hepatic MFH have some characteristics. The enhancement pattern is manifested in a fast wash-in and slow wash-out pattern. However, the final diagnosis still relies on histopathological examination.

[Objective]To study the dental status, the development of jaw and the size of sella turcica of children with ectoder-mal dysplasia(ED).[Methods]Panaramic radiography and lateral cephalograms of six ED individuals(age range of 6~7 years, five males and one female)were obtained. The dental status was record. 17 measurements about the jaws and the sella turcica were mea-sured and compare them to Chinese children without ED syndrome.[Results]The mean number of missing teeth was 22.3 in perma-nent dentition and 16.2 in primary dentition; The teeth that most likely to absent were permanent lateral incisor ,maxillary first premo-lar,maxillary primary lateral incisor and mandibular primary central incisor, and all remaining teeth are in conical shape. Lateral cephalometric measurements showed that all ED subjects had lower ANS-Ptm,which suggested a short maxilla. Low Co-Po,ANB, NA-PA,N-Me,N-ANS and ANS-Me values that were found in all subjects,as well as low SNA,Y-axis,MP-FH,S-Co,and high SNB,NP-FH,NP-FH that were noted in some subjects showed counterclockwise rotation and protrusion of mandible with short-er length in ED subjects. Some subjects had low ANS-Me/N-Me × 100%and high N-ANS/N-Me × 100%,representing a short facial height. Five cases represented lower length and diameter of sella turcica;two cases showed lower depth of sella turcica ,indicating the abnormal development of sella turcica.[Conclusion]The results of this study suggest that the dentition ,jaws and sella turcica in ED children differs when compared to individuals without this syndrome.
